  2. Pretty sure it was up for 17.5k and had 35k miles on it. @Verbout the thing is we will! Especially now the advert has been removed. Many people will be put off buying the car by this thread and the seller only had themselves to blame.

  3. Sorry to have highjacked Graham's original post but just could not resist enquiring about Pete's Moggies. Awesome Pete! - bet they are a real hoot to drive. I am very tempted, I have seen the Traveller with a Mazda MX5 conversion I believe it was all professionally done for around £20k.

  4. HTC one M9 on latest firmware works perfectly with Bluetooth from Amazon music or Google music, or the HTC music app. Shows artist/album and skip tracks. Can't skip albums though and still need to select the app and navigate to it on the phone which is a hassle. Lexus PremNav on latest firmware too. Surprised OnePlus2 works, couldnt get mine to work at all with the Lexus, kept crashing and ended up selling it to my brother. It does work perfectly on his new model Vauxhall Astra. My advice for using USB is buy a 2nd hand IPod Touch, latest/ biggest model you can afford. It doesn't need to be a good one, as long as it's functional. It will work perfectly, show up all the album artwork, track details, playlists, etc. USB keys can be a load of hassle.

  5. Happy for the owner (or whoever spotted this thread) to corrects us. It seems a great bargain but the owners attitude throws it in to question.

  6. Really enjoyed all those pics and the story. Very envious I would have loved to had one of those. Mike.

  7. I have enough cars to look after in the family thank you Some people pay the Lexus prices thinking they're either getting a better service, or keeping the car "Lexus" When I service our cars it may take a little longer but everything gets inspected, cleaned, greased and fixed properly. Good luck.

  8. Blimey, I thought you had put too many zeros on the pad prices but no, what is so special about the pads to justify the cost and what's the fitting charge?

  9. I ordered a set of Hawk front pads for £150 last week, due to be delivered today. A few folks use them, seem to dust a lot less than OEM pads which is what I wanted. Lexus quoted me the best part of £1700 for a full set of discs and pads all round yesterday. Farcical.

  10. This is so often the case, its really disappointing when we the general public & owners (like myself) of these cars who are led to believe & trust that Lexus dealers are the best & will do as they actually say they will, unfortunately to me (& a lot of my customers too by the way) it seems that most of them are Franchised & as such like pretty much all Franchised Dealers only really after one thing - your money of course. I really hope there are exceptions out there I cant believe all of them are this way. Recently I posted on the Lexus owners club Facebook group page offering free advice & guidance on battery, auxiliary transmission pump & shock absorber issues to any one who is having problems, pretty much directly after i posted i was grilled heavily by another member of the group as to my qualifications & experience which I was able to provide easily. He was clearly trying to discredit me to any one reading - It was only after this "conversation" ended after my repeat insistence's !! - that I thought I would have a look at this persons Facebook profile & guess what!!! Yep you guessed it he is employed by a Lexus dealership as an after-sales manager would you believe!!! I think the moral is only go on other owners experiences & reccomendations. With your transmission filling questions - if you would like to PM me I can give you a great tip on how to fill very easily to the correct level really easily & with no mess - from my own experience!!!

  11. I would skip 1 step of aggressive sanding from this video and just go directly to the second step + paste polishing. The pads and paste are available cheaply in amazon. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Abrasive-Glass-Scratch-Repair-GRADE/dp/B00CKPIY4M/ref=lp_1740357031_1_14?srs=1740357031&ie=UTF8&qid=1471912756&sr=8-14 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Polishing-Compound-Solution-Cerium-Suspended/dp/B005M26N16/ref=lp_1740357031_1_5?srs=1740357031&ie=UTF8&qid=1471912793&sr=8-5

  12. Is that £395 a year for main dealer from warranty direct? Thats a rip off!! And ill tell you why...... Lexus Main dealer charge £495 for 24 months cover on the CT. This comes with 2 years free roadside assistance which normally costs £125 a year (has all the benefits i.e. personal cover, hire car, accommodation etc). Only caveat is that you have to use Lexus servicing which, if you're going to use anyway, then Lexus Extended Warranty for the CT works out more cost effective

  13. Procedure virtually (if not identical) to gen 1 RX - do a google for 'diff gear oil change lexmex' for some write ups with pics... :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. This is a render - i.e its just someones ideas of what it could look like The problems I can see so far are that the wheels are from the current CT and they're too big. The blue one shows NX wheels. Id presume the red one is an F-Sport due to its wheels and grill and therefore should have an F sport badge and Black mirror caps. The grill and bonnet have been taken from an RC and the side profile has been taken from the NX and RX. Also, Ive seen actual pictures of the upcoming car - lets just say it looks stunning! Not like this pile of ugly poo!

  15. @emjay82Do it you won't regret it, steering feel especially around centre is drastically improved with immediate weighting on steering input and an added tactility and feedback for the remainder of the stroke. The only perceptible change I have found in additional cabin noise is on very high frequency suspension inputs like on concrete motorways. I will caveat that by saying I 'think' it's a little louder so that should give you an idea that it's barely noticeable. Pro's greatly out way the 'maybe if I strain and listen' cons.

  16. Personally I feel most speed cameras are only there to catch the unobservant/careless, anyone who cannot spot a camera, is not observant enough to be driving over the speed limit anyway, and so should get a ticket.

  17. I would be careful using them in slippery conditions, as engine braking will only be on the rear wheels, and will be less sensitive than using the brakes, could cause loss of traction quite easily.

  18. I use mine regularly for engine breaking, rarely using the brakes, also fun occasionally to pop into sport, turn the boy racer sound generator up and accelerate away from lights/roundabout.

  19. It's usually the amp turning on before the radio so picking up the crap the headunit generates as it powers up. Does your amp switch on using the blue control as Neil says? If you are just powering on and have your control (not power) directly to iginition then instead you'll need to connect it to the headunit control or, as you say put a delay onto the power on. You can throw together a delayed relay swtich on but just need a little more circuitry for the delay. This circuit will give about 3 secs delay.
