  1. Hi Guys - just a heads-up for those of you with a USRS fitted to your cars. Driving home from work today I noticed a rumbling/rattle from the front near side of my car. Thinking it might be a loose wheel nut(s) I eventually sourced it to the spindle nut on my USRS that was loose. Bit surprised and shocked at this, just glad it didn't drop off during a motorway drive etc. I had mine fitted about six weeks ago and had only covered a few hundred miles. I checked all the other nuts on both sides and all seemed okay. According to the fit instructions the torque on the spindle nut is 83 lb. Not sure if it was a mistake during fitting or a potential weakness in the system, but worth knowing about... Cheers

  3. 124mph. Dont ask how I know. Chassis is stable though, could handle another 50mph easy if the car had a 5.0l or something!

  5. My first Lexus and it's brilliant! It's the most comfortable, relaxing car I've owned (and the most expensive!). I'd wondered about the RX but dismissed it initially as to expensive to buy and run but I started to read the reviews and realised that it might be a viable option. I've had my car for 3 months now and covered just over 3,000 miles of mixed driving from the dales of Yorkshire, to city streets. My driving style has totally changed,; I still keep up with traffic and overtake as usual but the Lexus just makes me feel far more relaxed and calm. But occasionally I let the V6 sing. I couldn't believe it the first time I used kick down, I referred to it as all hell let loose! Smooth but very quick for such a big car. It's really comforting to know that when you go past a slower moving vehicle you won't be in the outside lane for long. I've averaged a real 38.7 with a best of 45.1 I find the mpg indicator to be fairly accurate and within 1 mpg of the actual. Everybody who gets in the car says it feels like they are royalty it's definitely a great place to be regardless of the length of the journey. I've got lots of questions to ask but have already found the answers to many of them on the forum so thank you fellow Lexus owners.

  6. Hi All Would it be possible to wire the side lights to come on when ign turned on I like the concept of DLR but i dont like the garish Led clusters that some cars Have esp Audi. I wouldnt dream of fitting extra Light module as it would spoil the look of my 450. I did fit a LED bulb in the sidelight and it does light the reflector up well and is visible during day. I know i could switch just side lights on for normal running but knowing me i would end up with a flat battery. I am sure someone must have done it some where Thanks Robert

  7. They'll be more on this topic I guarantee it. Goes to show how much thought goes in to owning a car or is it just us Lexus owners??

  8. Have put this on a different post as well - but used Xado engine oil additive when the noise resurfaced within a few weeks of an oil change. Its been nearly a year and the noise hasn't come back yet. Will keep an eye (and ear!) out and update.

  9. You're obviously not following the rules Dave. If you're post is sarcastic, you must end the sentence with the word in capitals......SARCASM. If you are quoting a fact.........FACT. This is a loose interpretation of the word. And more importantly, a JOKE....This has to be especially highlighted on some forums. SUCK EGGS is one of my favourites.

  12. Back on topic... I reckon anyone who has an issue with objective scrutiny about a car they are selling is 99.9% hiding something and given said car was below market price best avoided IMHO!

  14. I know what it's in response to Mike, the question should be "Why do you need post about your educational prowess"? If the boasts are true or just taking the mick, I don't know. We've just had this on another forum during the Brexit debate, people justifying voting out, and not wanting to be categorised as dumb.

  15. I also would go for oil change. Maybe while oil is still cold and thick pump got problem to build up the pressure. Try eventually warm up gearbox a little bit before driving. Start the car let it run for a while change gears few times while stationary.
