  2. Continuing from a previous post about removing rear badges, here's a warning. I started doing mine today, starting with the LS letters. I heated it up and just peeled the corner away to find that they are held in place with pegs! So unless you want to fill in the holes and have a respray you may want to think again. Fortunately mine re-stuck when it cooled down. That was close!

  3. Just seen on the News that the new Mayor of London wants to have a zone that covers the area between the North and South Circular to become ULEZ, with a £12.50 a day charge from 2019. As my 2000 Mk4 will probably have only got up to 120,000 on the clock by then and so ,just about run in, does anyone out there know if it is Euro 4 compliant ,and if not ,how can I make it so. Damned if I am going to give up my Barge to keep a load of Yoghourt knitting ,Lycra wearing cyclists happy.

  4. Should be about 100k. Of course it does depend on driving. If you do steady motorway driving its likely you won't use them much as the car pretty much slows itself down on re-gen most of the time unless you're braking enthusiastically

  6. It's a shame Lexus has not thought of downloading the manual to the car so you can access it from a menu within the ICE/SatNav system

  7. Lexus Customer Service have now provided me with possible causes of the problem and their advice was spot on. It turned out to be the tethering option on the phone was off due an android update defaulting the service to off and I had not twigged it had happened. Full marks Lexus.

  8. Euro 4 compliance wasn't started until 2005 so a 2000 LS400 cannot be included, the government website suggests contacting the vehicle manufacturer to see if it does meet the later requirements. The engine is very clean mine even at 22 years old still passes an MOT based on an LS430 test with stricter emissions every year with ease and that's without manufacturer fiddled figures! It's just another stealth tax at the end of the day to make up for the shortfall in council tax revenue.

  9. I struggled with the same issue so went with BMW as Lexus just don't have that mid market performance .It's one extreme to another. So went and got a 135i coupe, 3 litre turbo, 300bhp blah blah and it scratched an itch for a while (until a month ago) . I now have the IS200t (so same engine as the RC200t) and its underwhelming in comparison (raw performance )but it suits me fine as I'm less likely to kill myself or accrue points I'm not sure the 4 cylinder turbo would offer a significant change in performance for you from the IS300 h so its looks the RCF ... (Its a shame they cant drop the IS350 lump from the US into it - that would be a compromise)

  10. ...... I vaguely remember the times ( the 1950's ) when in the Lake District the AA patrolman, on his motorbike and sidecar, actually saluted the Member ( my uncle ) with his AA badge proudly affixed to the front bumper ( of his Triumph Renown ). Malc a little nostalgia I'm afraid

  11. Hi. Please forgive me if I'm wrong as I'm new to the Lexus group. Just bought my is250 a week ago lol For my previous vehicles, I normally use www.camskill.co.uk to order tyres and ask a local garage to fit it. Personally, the price on camskill is quite reasonable. hope this help :)

  13. I would be the same, I am just useless at anything like that. The other day I sprayed some lube onto a squeaky kitchen cupboard door but then could not shut the door again properly, I took ages trying to find out why, then my wife showed me I had left the spray can of lube in front of a bottle and so it blocked it. Soooo embarrassing. Wire a dash cam... you must be joking. :(

  14. A wee update 3 weeks on and after about 500 miles. With the onset of a few sub 7 degree C mornings I've certainly begun to notice how these tyres are working better than their regular summer counterparts. It really is like driving on rails in comparison! The initial harder ride feel has either soften up as the tyres have bedded in or I've simply got used to it as I can't say I notice it now. Only had 1 really wet session with them so can't really say I've done enough of that to come to an opinion but no complains so far Just waiting on some snow now.
