  2. I've read up on the subject and the sequence of lights, VSC check etc relates to around 40 different errors it's just telling you to take your car to Lexus so they can read the exact fault so it's difficult to say but the fuel cap not being tight enough or sealing incorrectly is definitely a common one, so common that Toyota/Lexus started to put a warning on the fuel cap on certain models stating that if it wasn't tightened sufficiently it would throw up a VSC warning. Here's hoping.

  3. It depends on your climate control settings i.e temperature set to need heat from engine. Your ICE will cut in at every opportunity if your climate control requires the heat. Also, I find the battery power alone is capable of pretty impressive cruising speed (not for acceleration), it will cruise happily at nearly 50mph on battery alone. Which I find amazing.

  4. I turn up at Kemble airfield on Sunday to meet Dav or FlyTvr as he is known on here and we happento meet a guy with an IS-F who just happened to be there, not a member on here, but hopefully soon to be, anyway we took the opportunity for a couple of photos.

  5. Totally disagree...as many would complain if no info was given out by Lexus when this problem first came to light, infact well done Lexus for making us aware. Also you cant expect to keep tens of thousand of airbags in stock when there was limited buys prior to this recall. just look forward to a loan car and some free future for the inconvience.

  6. Sorry, yes I was assuming a series II, hopefully the series III has a conventional braking system. Fuel cap gasket is available separately under part number 77300-50020 priced around £15.00.

  8. Thanks everyone, I contacted all of the above and they all come in at around the £400 pound mark. They are all a good few hours from me so I'll do what I should have done before I troubled my friends on here and look for a custom build place near me stressing that others can do it for around the £400 Thanks again, Bod

  9. I think that the brake booster was the main reason I sold the GS300 I bought as a temporary replacement when the LS400 was accident damaged back in 2010. Having said that it still seems to be running fine as I see it occasionally. From what I recall on start up there should be a pumping/grinding noise from the brake unit as it activates for a few seconds then it should only make the noise again when the brake pedal is pressed repeatedly. Pulling the EFI fuse and leaving it out for a few minutes normally resets the ECU and the stored codes.

  10. The standard sat nav is OK - i.e. it will get you from point A to B no problem. Its never let me down. The Premium nav is worth it IMO just because of the extra 2 speakers and the remote touch - I find it much easier to use than the rotary dial that comes with standard nav.

  11. Thanks for the replies and the link KayCee, Lights are still present as of this morning, might be worth £30 for a new fuel cap just to rule that out. I'll keep you posted.

  13. .... different car here ..... removing the petrol filler cap doesn't always result in that sharp outtake of air, that gush, whatever the level of fuel remaining .... I had sort of, for no reason at all, put it down to the heat of the day maybe evaporating and some fumes being released. Of an 85.1 litre tank the lowest it's got to is about 80 litres before a refill, well into the orange light and me knowing there's about 100 miles left once the light comes on. Malc 1

  15. I know what you mean. Avid tomtom user until I bought this. Got latest micro Sd card from seller recommended on this site. Am now getting used to the car navigation and it does have live traffic warnings. Today with all the floods it offered me frequent re routing My main reason for using it though is that it is great not having wires trailing all over the place. I am very impressed with the text reading facility and the hands free phone connection gives great reception.

  16. I wasn't a fan of the navigation system on my days test drive of the IS300h so I wasn't to concerned when they said it didn't come as standard on the F Sport. I'm sure it's a good system for some but I've had Tomtom's from the start and I couldn't substitute that for something that looked like it was programmed and developed on Spectrum computer

  17. My car had a big service 2000 miles before I bought it in June. I will easily need it serviced again before then with my high mileage. After I did the deal I found out that the previous owner was Sir Geoff Hurst.

  18. You've been a busy boy! Does that mean yours had air suspension and you've replaced it with springs, or am I just misunderstanding what you're saying? I bet you can't wait for next Spring. Will you sneak in occasionally and talk to it, maybe make it some cocoa!!🍵
