  1. https://www.truecar.com/prices-new/lexus/ As you can see, in comparison to the USA market, GS is overpriced, LS is massively operpriced but good old CT is a bargain (or actually properly priced) Any idea why is Lexus doing this? Don't they want to sell more cars? I love the brand and bought the CT - and had to use carwow to get a good deal - for my wife but when I had to replace my GS250, went to BMW because of the marked difference in pricing strategy CT is a bargain though!

  2. That sounds very logical. Thanks.

  3. i would go with the Ct without thinking about it, no rental for the battery pack that can be £70 per month this amount would cover your petrol virtually, then the advantages:- 1) dont have to give your employer an excuse for not coming into work of i didnt plug in my car 2) the ct will always be ready to use 3) no extra charging costs to pay 4) your not tethered to a plug socket 5) its a lexus and not a nissan

  4. The leaf has been a great car and other than a new set of tyres in 3 years, I have had no issues whatsoever. It's only the fact that the battery degrades and I only have 18% left when I get home that is making me twitchy of purchasing over another three years. The lexus I am looking at is through a Lexus dealership, so I am hoping it will all be tip top. I am led to believe they need to have full service historys etc to be used approved. I'm just hoping it's a similar size to my Leaf or the wifes Nissan Note.

  5. I think the most important thing is that no matter how luxurious the product is when we get in touch with our respective main dealers is what happens to the level of service when things go wrong, and I should think that the majority of Lexus dealers will move heaven and earth to get the problem sorted. Happy Christmas to all you Lexus lovers and of course to those who haven't found out about the world of Lexus yet.

  6. Happy Christmas, forumers. I've had a look outside and their is no LFA on the drive, so I guess may be SWMBO is saving that for my birthday instead...

  7. Could be the engine is still a bit tight being so new (running in?) Also don't always go for electric or Eco mode as they're mpg killers I've found. Pulse and glide can help on open roads but round town there's not much choice. Most of mine is 90% town and I drive it like normal and if it goes electric it's a bonus. You do have to be quite light footed to keep it in the Eco zone as said. I'm sure you'll get better results as you put mileage on the engine. Happy Christmas everyone! 8. yes it does matter as my IS is a private car and not paid for by the company i work for, if i am paying full price for a service i expect to have the car serviced properly and for everything that is needed for the service to be changed / adjusted

  9. My only experience of my Lexus dealer (Swindon) has been the purchase and handover of my new RC. I can honestly say they have been everything I expected from a luxury marque. First rate. Considerate, communicative, accommodating. Yes, I realise this stage of interaction is about getting my custom and money ..... If they turn out anything close to MB Swindon in respect to customer service I'll be very happy

  10. Well, based on these two statements, I feel that even good service from a dealer would not convince you to like them. The fact that this thread is mostly glowing praise should tell you something about Lexus dealers in general. Is the service always perfect? No. However, compared to some of the experiences that myself and my friends have had with other manufacturers' dealers, they are miles ahead. Also, the official service checklist is available on the Lexus website. It states: "Inspect air filter - replace as required (model dependant)" This is quite reasonable since replacing a clean filter serves no purpose.

  11. I think for me a large factor is driving style, i used to nip everywhere quite quickly in my old vw up. The ct being cvt and hybrid has changed my driving style/habits. Im much smoother and happy to be slower and keep to limits better yhan before. Biggest thing i notice in the ct is i pull away slower than before. Im currently low 50's but aiming for 55+ next year. id try next fill up resetting your avg mileage computer and just for a week a lighter touch on the acc pedal. Im sure if i drove like i did in my previous car id be low 40's. The ct will reward ithink instead of driving the car its more a case of working with it.

  12. A flat battery can cause this, the lights may extinguish when the car has been driven for a while or try resetting the codes.
