  3. Hey, yes, what you guys don’t realise is US fuel is the same as ours, just numbered differently. I think 93 here is 98 in the U.K. (I say here as I am typing in a lounge at Atlanta Airport in Georgia!). Map and running on my car has always been spot on with every level of tune I’ve had with RR-Racing. Cheers, Pete

  6. Got the car back today. 3 hours labour, no parts required. He found error codes relating to the MAF sensor and all 02 sensors (same as me). He found a blown fuse and replaced it, cleared the codes and test drove. Fault returned but fuse not blown. Scan found fault on 02 sensor 2, band 1. On the ramp he found damage to the wiring loom - he reckoned due to the car grounding or such like. He cut out the bad section and repaired it. Cleared the codes, test drive again and all ok. I doubt I would have ever found that! But as someone said, get it checked before you start replacing parts. On the short drive back, the hybrid battery went from very run down to very well charged - green, one bar from the top. A bit early to say, but it felt like the hybrid system was charging more than needed and the consumption was lower than I'd expect in town driving. That said, it drove down our road on battery so maybe it's settling in. I wouldn't worry! This was and interesting mix of one of those things rather than a mileage related incident. If your car has good history it should be fine. What was good to hear was David said he doesn't do much work on these, which implies they don't have many issues. Happy to have the car back, driving beautifully as usual.

  8. @NothernDan Just look at that sky dan epic......... the only ’thunderous’ event in that locality then will be the arrival of @Cezar B and his system to bring the ‘’Haus” down............ Itll be “Musa “ to our ears......... Ok I’ll stop now........ 🐀

  9. Hi all. I changed out the transmission mount on my 98 ls400 today. Pretty easy job and only took 10 mins or so. Seems to have made quite a big difference to the car though, most of the vibrations at idle are gone and so have my vibration at 50-60mph. Used OEM part from USA ebay. Some pics for comparison new/old. The old mount was very compressed and cracking and I had to lift the transmission up to get the new mount in so it's all aligned better now I suppose.

  11. Glad you got it fixed :) Have you tried plugging your old maf back in to see if it was really faulty?

  18. I've got the rr racing tuned intake with map headers, exhaust, I already had ppe headers and exhaust fitted previous to the tuned intake and map so didn't expect to feel much of a difference but i was wrong the car is an animal now I'd definitely recommend the intake and tune from rr.

  20. Yep, the oil cooler is sat in the L/H wing in front of the wheel arch and the transmission oil also goes through the radiator, so there's plenty of cooling without the steel tubes behind the bumper. Hence why I'm convinced the steel tubes aren't really an oil cooler (even though that's what Lexus call it on their diagrams) but a device to make assembly easier. I'll see how things go with it bypassed.

  21. The European RXs already have an separate oil cooler at the front of the wheel arch, and the normal cooler inside bottom of the radiator.

  23. I can’t believe it...I literally gave away a 1994 Celsior a year or so ago with a blue leather interior and an excellent steering wheel. It also had 2 new rear air suspension units and the whole system worked fine.

  24. He needed that BEFORE he bought the car? (-: judging on his ''I'll never buy a Black.....".etc., comments!

  25. The preaching can come later, and I will be happy to preach. The issue now is getting your money back. Any dealer has legal obligations he cannot avoid. That is what parliament set up. £9,400 seems about the market price, for a normal car, and way way above a 'spares banger'. Ever a Rolls-Royce would not be that price for spares. Don't get any repairs done. I would try 3 lines of attack. 1. Write a letter rejecting the sale on the grounds of an unfair contract, and ask for your money back. (Do you have a 14 day cooling off period? If you do, just cash this in and reject the sale). Send it by first class registered next day post and give him 3 days to reply or you will seek damages in the County Court. Add that if you do not hear from him in the said 3 days you will contact trading standard and ask for his business to be investigated. Also ask him how much VAT you paid on the car, as you will be contacting them if you do not get satisfaction, as you feel that the VAT arrangements were not what they should be. In my experience if he is iffy he will be terrified of the VAT . They make the mafia look soft. It once worked for me. 2. Contact trading standards at once and explain how you have been duped by his sharp practice, and a possible illegal and unfair contract. Ask for help in resolving the situation. Don't drive the car. 3. Keep records of everything. You could easily go to a small claims court. When the paperwork from the court arrives he may concede, that is the last fall back option. Or a judge looking at it all, will probably think you have been naive, but he is a crook. After all this is over happy to preach about the pitfalls of buying a car. Good luck.

  26. Hi there, Im new to this & I have a RX400h and recently have got a new phone and now my Bluetooth doesn't work. Seeing as it's a fairly old car now I'm wanting to get an updated interface. Any one recommend anything? I've found this ... https://www.seicane.com/pure-android-in-dash-dvd-gps-system-for-2004-2010-lexus-rx-400h-with-bluetooth-hd-touch-screen-obd2-dvr-rearview-camera-tv-1080p-video-3g-wifi-steering-wheel-control-usb-sd-s217010 Looks good but not sure on it as has no reviews, wondering if anyone has installed anything similar? Many thanks Luke
