  1. It didn’t cross my mind to do more photos 🙄

  2. Unbelievable service from Alex and in fact, the entire team at Lexus Derby. Alex was so enthusiastic about having us there and was so good to our dog, Luca. The team bought him a bowl of water into the showroom as soon as we arrived. Alex couldn't have been more hospitable and nothing was too much to ask of him. However, Rich OD'ed on caffeine, but I was happy with the IV drip of caffeine as it was quite an early start for me 😄. When we're in the market for a new Lexus (PS I loved the RCFs and totally want one 😉), we'll definitely drop by Lexus Derby. All the best, Sian ( ohhh and Rich and Luca too!!) haha x

  3. Yeah, I thought it was good of Lexus Derby to host our get-together which I think shows commitment to the brand and to their customer base. Special mention to Alex who was very attentive to all of the group. The morning meet, getting to see some of the cars and chat to their owners was the best part of the day for me

  4. Alex was excellent, very helpful and it shows with his enthusiasm with the brand, sausages were excellent to, was wondering if he hires his services out for BBQs? nothing but praise from me 👍🏻👍🏻

  5. I’m sure with both your circumstances that they could refund your money, after all it’s not a change of heart, family first and I’d be surprised if they didn’t take the same view, hope alls good in both camps.

  6. We didn’t go on your run as we are slumming it in an IS300h, 😂😂, but we bought it from Lexus Derby and know Alex well. He is the most courteous, enthusiastic, eager to please person we have ever met, at a dealership or anywhere else. It’s an 80 mile trip to get there for us, but next service we will probably go, mainly because of the VIP superstar treatment Alex gives to all his house guests.

  7. I thought they did an excellent job. They had someone ready to show me where to park on my arrival & I was then greeted by the dealer principal. They were very attentive & made me feel very welcome - couldn’t have asked for more👍🏻

  12. I got there quite early as they were opening up and was met by the DP and made to feel genuinely welcome, and the unforgettable Alex what a really nice guy....now I know I’m somewhat biased as he’s Greek and I’m half Greek but with that kind of boundless energy if he ever wants a change of direction and join the building trade......😁 Well done to all of them..... oh yes someone mentioned the great sausages I had to have 4 @Warrington guy Dave got caught on the M6 traffic......well someone had to take care of his share.......🤡 Oh and a quick pic of mine sat outside of Lexus Derby....... 13. I’d hoped they might be able too but as my late decision was after 1:00 apparently they couldn’t - never mind.

  15. @Peter P18thanks Pete he’s doing ok - these things are to be expected when your only a few months away from your 90th. Was surprised to see you all parked up after leaving Ladybower - was it for photos? Hope you all had a fun evening & good journeys home via some great roads 👍🏻 @NothernDan Dan hope your wife & son are doing well. Thanks again for all the work you put in choosing some stunning roads. Combination of perfect weather & autumn colours was just amazing. Have driven the Buxton/Glossop/Snake Pass section in the past but hadn’t travelled the roads south of there before so had no idea how spectacular they were. Will definitely being doing that again. 👍🏻 It was good to meet so many people & see so many F’s together yesterday. I thought Lexus Derby did a great job making us feel very welcome. There were bound to be hiccups with such a large group TBO. It’s difficult enough staying together in smalll convoys so I expected it to break into smaller groups anyway. Thought I had planned for that by programming the whole route in the satnav so I didn’t miss any of the roads chosen, except I hadn’t tested how well that actually worked before hand Drrrr!! - so loosing the group then arriving late was entirely my own fault 🙄 Never mind at least I now know what not to do in future & got to drive some amazing roads that were not on the itinerary. Also got to at least do the Winnet’s Pass route on the way back to Buxton with @Big Rat & @Warrington guy which was just brilliant 👍🏻

  17. So managed to get the new smoked LED bumper reflector replacements installed and wired up for the Dales meet. Huge thanks to my nephew Ben for all his help late on Thursday night when we did the work together. Think these just finish off the rear end beautifully. Hope you like it guys. 👍

  21. I work for JLR and a few months back we were offered a Range Rover D180 HSE R Dynamic on a 12 month lease for £268 a month, no deposit. It’s a 62k car and I’ve never had a brand new motor so thought, why not? Took delivery of mine on Friday evening and it’s an absolutely stunning car to look at, a real head turner. I’ve had people stop and watch me park etc etc. Cars got every option you could think of. Two touch screens, WiFi, massage seats, remote function so you can heat her up before you get in. The options go on and on and on and on. An absolutely beautiful car but the ride and engine, performance and refinement... hand on heart is better in my IS250. I know comparing petrol to Diesel is a little unfair but 62k to the 5k I paid a couple of years ago and the 100k miles on the engine.... testament to the quality of the Lexus brand and/or this model Feel like I’ve traded my perfect woman for a bit of skirt I know I’ll never own a better value car than my IS.

  22. Have to say Dan you planning was awesome, between us we made a bit of a hash of it, but when we decided to do our own thing, we followed your route in reverse and it was awesome, by this time the sun was just starting to set, combined with the autumn leaves it was breath taking, so thank you so much really looking forward to the next one!!

  23. Thanks for all the posts guys! Did I hear right that Snake Pass was closed! That will have scuppered the plans a bit! So sad that @bobmc had such misfortune. Gutted for you mate ☹️. Will definitely be doing radios for the next one and taking everyone's points on board. The next one will run much slicker. Keep posting everyone, keen to see more pics and get more feedback. @DAW I hope your father in law(?) is ok and recovering.

  24. The engine makes a very aggressive growl on acceleration, it sounds very naughty through tunnels and between buildings, by far the stand out feature of the car. The handling, I never really pushed it hard, sports cars are now wasted on me really. But what is incredible is it's composure over rough road surfaces. Accelerate over a rough surface in many cars and the traction control cuts the power. The TT keeps the power on and just adjusts it to another wheel, or this is how it feels. You could just floor the car coming out of a turning in the wet and it'd just sort it out giving you some power whilst managing wheel spin, incredibly easy to drive. I guess if a Police officer asked me which car I'd recommend as a pursuit car then it'd have to be a quattro Audi as I think they'd keep up with anything over normal roads/surfaces. To some people this ability and composure could be boring I guess, but I had much admiration for what it could do, and without fuss, or expertise. But it went after a year as it didn't feel special, I found the interior quality low rent even though mags say it's good. And the Audi dealers, truly shocking. I'll never buy a new Audi ever again due to the dealers which is a shame as I do miss the TT's soundtrack, I could own a used RS3 saloon in the future but I wont be buying from an Audi dealer. I did have a good experience with Stafford Audi years ago when I bought an Audi A1 once, after 3 attempts with other dealers who lied, didn't prep, or tried to mislead me. Sorry for the little rant, but the dealers really did spoil my ownership of what is a really great car. Lexus, and Skoda dealers really have been a breath of fresh air for me, proper and honest so far.

  25. No worries Herbie, I’ve got an idea of what I may need from googling. Might end up getting a wrong bulb or two but I’ll buy more than I need and send back what I don’t need I guess lol if anyone knows exactly what I need, please let me know. thanks for your help Herbie

  31. Tried them again this morning. Left the car running and sprayed the windscreen with the wipers set to auto and they worked normally. Used the windscreen washers and again worked normally. Looks like it could be the fix. I couldnt understand why lexus changed the wiper motor on people's cars before trying the simpler cheaper option of the relays, but when I was in the tech site I looked at the diagnostics section for wiper problems, unless I missed it I didn't see any reference to relays in the diagnostic procedure, everything led to a motor exchange. If lexus technicians follow these procedures it's no wonder the first thing they do is change the motor. In all my motoring life I don't think I have ever had to change a wiper motor even on cheap cortinas.

  32. Mine is also an import model Celsior, it was 12 years old when I bought it with 62,000kms. Still going strong nearly 13 years later with regular DIY servicing and few suspension parts only due to UK roads.

  33. I just loved your car, Pete! I like all the crazy mods you’ve done to it! It’s a wild&fast&loud&badass ISF! 😁😎

  34. Not strictly true. The car has to be under 10 years old and 140,000 miles at the start of the warranty period. The warranty is then valid for two years as long as the car remains serviced at Lexus. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  36. No worries mate, hope he’s ok..... 😔 As others have said, shame we had some issues early on trying to keep the group together, but it wasn’t a total flop! 😂 Great to put some faces to names, and with no Dan and his walkie-talkies, we did struggle. I’d say you need groups of 5, and a group leader who can make sure his group stay together. We regrouped as a 5 or 6 after leaving Derby, and stayed together the whole time to Ladybower Inn. Opera house was a flop as the first group that got there found it was rammed solid with no parking etc. Weather was truly amazing for this time of year. Had some breathtaking views, and we enjoyed a quiet dinner at the Thyme bar and grill here at Premier Inn. Huge thanks to Dan for his help organising what I hope will be the first of many fun road trips with my Lexus family. 👍😎 Cheers all, Pete 😊

  40. Quick update. Paid for an hours access to the tech website £3. Found the location of the relays which are with the abs relays in a 5 inch relay box in the engine bay on the drivers side just below the brake reservoir. Used a smallish screwdriver to release the catch on the left hand side, relays are on the left. Removed the INT relay as they are plug in. Now that I know where they are I ordered two relays off eBay, albeit used, for £5. The relays came today so I removed the INT relay and fitted the replacement, I cleaned the contacts before fitting with fine emery and contact cleaner. Yesterday I tested the wipers and they didn't work except in fast mode, wetted the windscreen today and tried them and they worked normally put them in auto and again worked normally. Wipers parked correctly. So far so good I will now wait to see if the fix is permanent after a spell of use as they did work before for a while. if everything is ok it is an easy fix in about 10 minutes. I suppose the best thing to do is buy a new relay from Toyota now we have the part number. Hope this helps others with the same problem as it is a quick and cheap fix. I will post if it recurs in the coming days

  41. You're very welcome. The M4 is an incredible car, as was my last motor, the TTRS, both at the top of their game, the noise of the 5 pot TT made me giggle every time I drove it. But your concern is very real, my TT just blended in with all the others, it never felt special. No one was ever standing there admiring it when I returned to the car park, only one person commented on the car in a whole year of ownership. One of my friends even asked if it was Jills car lol Maybe rent one for a week, see how you feel?

  43. Ser 1 V Ser 2? The front, side lights have a 'line' across them on the Ser 2 ......is how I tell! plus you can check plates on the Gov MOT site, which gives you the 'birth' date.

  44. I test drove an M4 CP today. I won't bore you with details, but I liked it. Just don't know if I like it enough to leave the F fold. The decision making progress is made more difficult when I open the garage door and see the RC-F CE sitting there!
