  1. Had mine nearly two years now Paul. I've just replaced the 12v battery in the boot floor.....that's it ! I'm delighted with mine and it's a keeper into my retirement.

  2. Well im back, after a break from lexus, last one a 95 mk3 ls400,prior to that gs300 and is200 sportcross. I am very much leaning towards a series 3 RX450H which are now within my reach.mileage does not bother me,LS Had 220,000 when i sold it 3 years ago and its still being used regularlly 🙂 Only real worry is the battery status of these hybrids ? any one had too buy new ones ? issues with the hybrid system ? any other issuies with this model ?

  3. Your phone will connect to the car via Bluetooth for hands-free calls but the car hasn't got the A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) sub-set of Bluetooth that is necessary for audio streaming. You'll need to either replace the head unit or use a suitable dongle/adapter/converter.

  5. Quite easy...£15 or so ..... it may just be an applied pressure thing.

  6. Maybe the gel pad dries out a bit over time and shrinks a wee bit? All you can do is suck it and see. Pushing it back against the windscreen has made it work...so just see how it goes. Worst case you get a new gel pad. Or, is it worth trying to pack out the top edge, inside the sensor, so that the replaced cover puts a bit more pressure towards the top edge? I had squally rain on the drive home tonight. Auto worked a treat, with changing sweep gaps dependant on the rain falling.

  8. Have you released the bottom clip on the rain sensor cover to have a looksee? The Gel pad is defo in there? Is it nice and clean...no grubbiness or finger prints...and the sensor screen face is clean too? Here is a thread, albeit from different model but it still applies to others. If you get no joy ... as a last resort you could just disconnect the feed to the sensor and clip it all back together and just use the intermittent wipe feature...as I think this is what the system defaults to if the sensor is disconnected.

  9. That's the great thing about cc... Components that don't seem to make any sense at all 😁

  10. Used to have this on our XC90. Low speed maneuvering eg supermarket spaces. 19" wheels but certainly not low profile tyres though. Slightly disconcerting at first but then I just put it down to one of those things because I knew the car was mechanically spot on.

  11. No, I didn't have time today but that's a good point Martin and I will do, just for the sake of curiosity.

  12. The cruise control on my rx stopped working it was the clock spring (a big coil of cable hidden at the top of the steering column) not the switch. I bought a cheep one from eBay for about £20 easy to fit and still working 30k miles later.

  14. Yes they seem more useful the further North you are, my wife has a 4x4 SUV and the LS on winters out accelerates and more importantly out brakes it by some margin when the weather is like it was below for a significant part of last winter

  15. Don't panic . yet we sometimes have certain dash warning lights come on our 2006 SH-AWD Honda Legend .... never on my Ls400 .... and find that in all instances, after a while, a day or two, the lights go off and normality returns..... for quite some weeks or months . until the next time At first when the gearbox light came on we panicked and took it for diagnoses . couldn't find any issues then, a reset and the light went out ........... permanently. Methinks it's built-in scaremongering by the teccies building these cars .......... far too sensitive and quite likely nowt to worry about. especially if the lights go out again # Look at the AA and RAC TV adverts, a car breaks down, well, a dash light comes on and car at side of the road .. the marketing says we get 99% ? of breakdowns back up and running within 30 mins .... wonder if that's the time it takes to get to the " breakdown " and the 2 mins to reset the dash lights Malc
