  3. Lol both wrong gov site says 2012, i bought 5 new tpms and got them coded and put onto aftermarket alloys, but still have orginal alloys with tpms for winter time, but have had to store originals away from where i park my LS as overtime originals lost a bit of pressure and everytime i parked up outside house or on drive or garage the warning would pop up on dash and intially didnt have a clue why Warning was coming on till weeks later when i moved wheels in garage to shed at bottom of garden, bingo no warning then checked pressure on orginal n found problem lol on my SC i unplugged tpms system with no warnings or alarms appearing... can be done on early to 2006 but seemingly not on 07-09 models

  5. Picked this up recently, big thanks to @Big Rat for the advice and putting up with all my questions and @Tfp for looking after the car so well and being incredibly helpful! Haven't stopped smiling since, such a great car. And on the ferry back to Belfast.

  6. Hello - I don't know if this is of any help to anyone but I have found a cheap fix to my noisy/vibrating fan on my 2011 CT200H SE-L The number on the original fan is stamped on the bottom of it 272600-0456 and as any body that has tried to get one of these will know - they are a mortgage payment to buy. Even second hand, if you can actually find one they are over £200. Now I got to thinking that Denso aren't daft so where possible they will want to make one part to fit multiple vehicles so after a bit of digging I decided to buy a fan from eBay for an is220 number 272600-0322. When it arrived there were subtle differences but I only wanted the motor part. I removed my fan, trim above the passengers feet off, 3 screws and a multi plug and the fan is out. The circuit board is under a plastic cover, 4 screws then a couple on the board itself and that lifts off ( bit of sealer on one end but no issue ). Then 3 screws for the motor. The plastic fan impellor is slightly bigger so needs swapping - just bend the little tag up and hammer the motor spindle out. and there you have it - an identical motor. rebuild is just the opposite if dismantle, nothing exciting. All done, back in and working is 30 mins - and the cost £22. Only tools were 8mm socket to get it out, screw driver, hammer and a bolt to use as a punch. Lots of motors are available at cheap prices. Wish I had done it months ago.

  7. Hi everyone. Collected my new(to me) RCF this morning. Very impressed on the 200 mile journey home and grinning like a Cheshire Cat. I think this is going to be a keeper. I will try and update when I get time.

  8. Hi everyone, Just saying hello with a quick post. I've taken a bit of time to get round to joining in on the forum. This is my first Lexus - an '08 GS450h SE-L (i.e. without the sunroof and ACC). I bought it back in March and in the main very happy, though there's a couple of niggles that I may ask for some thoughts on in due course, but good to be here. cheers Phil

  11. Hi Lee, thanks, yes silver isn't too bad! Niggles: 1. over the last couple of weeks both windscreen washers have got progressively weaker 'til the water only splashes the bottom of the screen now. It's not the pump (which I can hear working!) and water does come out the nozzles. 2. I keep getting a very occasional whiff of petrol around the rear end (haha) and once or twice inside the cabin. No sign of fluid or vapour. I had thought it was me splashing when i filled up but I've noticed it three or four times now. Weird. cheers Phil

  12. I do recall snide comments at the time about it being an S Class clone that could never hope to compete. Even now I assume a period S Class still commands decent money but I know which one I'd pick if I didn't fancy putting my hand in my pocket every few months.

  13. Yesterday evening I collected the rear track bolts/etc from Lexus Sheffield, ordered last Friday morning. The parts dept did say that bad rear alignment on the GS is known to chew through rear tyres, so pay attention to yours folks. At lunchtime today the new rear control arms arrived, ordered from RockAuto on Monday morning. Priority shipping was really fast and only around £10 more than a regular parcel I recently received (roughly £10 shipped). I wasn't hit for any import duty or UK postal charges either The forecast looks drier tomorrow, so I hope to get another crack at removing the OSR inner pivot bolt, wish me luck...

  14. You say your leak is at the manifold point. Can you be more specific? A common problem with the exhaust with the 4.3 ltr engine is severe rusting of the manifold cat flange where it joins the rest of the exhaust. A good exhaust specialist can replace these at very reasonable cost if this is the problem. John.

  16. You can get back to normal auto by pulling and holding the "+" paddle. No need to operate the gear selector.

  17. As NemesisUK said, using the paddle shifters reduces regeneration rather than increases it. As I understand it, you just use the brakes for regeneration. If you watch the Hybrid System dial, the one to the left of the speedometer, you can see the pointer go down to its maximum the harder you brake. While the pointer is still somewhere in the blue section all the braking is achieved by the motor-generators regenerating electricity. If you reach the maximum and then brake harder the brake pads will be brought into use. In gentle driving I try to keep the pointer just above the maximum point, for maximum regeneration and at the same time avoiding brake pad wear. But if you're coming down a mountain and the motor-generators aren't sufficient to keep the car's speed under control, you can use the paddles to add extra braking force from the engine. This is just the same as changing down in a manual to avoid brake fade/wear on a long downward stretch. Or you can just use the paddles for fun to get quick acceleration.

  18. All seems in good conditions, the V difference from max V and min V is between block 13 and 4, may be the pack needs a little rebalancing, but it's a procedure you can't do and rather long to make needing external recharging. I don't know if health check does something more or uses any external device or only officially confirms battery pack health for warranty purposes.

  19. Haven't got them now but on my previous GS and before that my IS300h F sport I rarely used them. On the IS it also had the noise generator switch which was also something as useful as a chocolate teapot.

  20. I've only used the paddles a couple of time to see what effect they had. Other than that, I forget they are there.

  21. Damn your auto AC issue must be really bad if you have to wear gloves in the car

  22. If you use the paddles you will use engine braking not regenerative braking. I've found it less effective in recharging the battery. The engine will come on to provide the retardation. If you simply apply the brakes you can push the regen to max quite easily. Using the paddles whilst in D will limit the gear range, great if negotiating hills.

  23. using the paddles can help you to maintain your speed if your going down hills and yes it does give you better regen ,try slowing down and watch the power gauge then use the paddles you will see the blue line dip and stay in the regen area

  25. I think that you drive your car the way you enjoy it. I agree that fuel consumption in a V8 should not be first priority, but I choose to not drive fast, but more in a refined way. I get great enjoyment from the serenity and total refinement only a V8 and in particular an LS, can give, all the while knowing that my vehicle will take off like a rocket if required. I suppose a bit like an old fart 😂. Enjoy your car the way you want not how others think you should and if that means also driving fast....so be it !

  26. Great job, I have fixed mine and this is my experience: You need some sort of pin extender. Motor pins on IS-220 one are shorter than the original one. so when you want to put the driver board back, connectors won't reach to the motor pins. so you can buy female spade connectors and use it as a little bridge between board female connectors and motor. Do not connect the IS-220 blower motor to your CT200H as is. it will blow up the 50A fuse. If you want to check the IS-220 blower motor, use a power supply and pulse the middle pin as the duty cycle of the motor.

  27. Four months into GS F ownership I finally got around to taking some pictures. So here it is, early car with fixed dampers, sonic titanium with red leather, Mark Levinson but no sunroof -perfect spec for me. The plate doesn't really suit but came off my V10 Phaeton which the F replaced. Plan is to keep it forever -one of the reasons I chose it over an M5 or AMG. I love the sense of occasion you get when driving, and the Jekyll and Hyde character. And, of course, the noise! I feel very fortunate to own three of the best sounding cars ever -the GS F, an S54 BMW Z3 M Coupe and a Gordon-Keeble. Hi to everyone on the forum! Mike

  28. Hi All, I am sad to say i have now sold my beloved IS-F and bought a A- -I SQ5, as Lexus do not make a beefy 300+ bhp SUV, it is a shame as i have owned over 30 yrs of Toyota/Lexus vehicles, and i miss the exclusivity of the IS-F already, it was an unbelievable performing vehicle and could return 30+ mpg on a run and was literally bomb proof, a cheap to run supercar, i shall keep my eye on the forum from time to time as you never know i might be back LOL, as i gained a lot of help from these forums from the knowledge that was shared by you all. By the way i have a pair of IS-F exhaust tips and a single tip for sale if anyone is interested pm me or call on 07974007405, open to sensible offers as we all know what they are worth , as i know what it is like to lose one and to try and get a replacement asap. Cheers and Thank You All Mark (Markovanb)
