  2. Just checked and on: https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/servicing-and-maintenance/# near the bottom of the page it says under Hybrid Health Check: Free warranty extension With each Hybrid Health Check, you receive an extra 1 year or 10,000 mile (whichever comes sooner) hybrid battery warranty extension, until your vehicle is fifteen years old. Terms and conditions apply.

  3. Evening all, not posted for quite some time! After many a night researching track wheel fitment & tyres, I finally got round to ordering and fitting my new wheels and tyres, for what I hope to be a great year ahead, exploring some of the bigger more open circuits down south (I'm from Scotland, and we only have Knockhill). I settled on square 18x9.5 and chose to play it safe, opting for an ET45 offset. I didn't fancy the idea of rolling arches/buffing expensive tyres on the body with a lower 'pokier' offset. Tyres are Michelin CUP2s in 265/35/18 As it turns out, this is the widest CUP2 available in 18inch. Originally, I really wanted 275, but now they're on, I'm glad I went for 265 as the fitment is pretty close. Along with the wheels and tyres, I've fitted Carbotech XP10's pads front and back, braded lines with performance fluid. Last year I fitted Penske two way adjustable shocks from RR Racing with their URSS, and since have been desperate to take the car to the next level with proper rubber and pads. I think (hope!) its going to be an incredibly capable package. I've attached a few pics. I speak with Jean-Luc who also tracks his car. Anyone else on the forum track their ISF and could hopefully share their experiences? Stevie

  4. Just had my 2006 RX400h serviced by Lexus, Guildford. Brilliant customer service, and surprisingly good prices! Big point here, though... The free hybrid system check that comes with a service is now extended to include vehicles up to 15 years old. This is better than it sounds... Not only is the check free, but any hybrid failure within the following 12 months is treated as under warranty. This is even if you go for the cheaper "essential care" service, like I did. The downside with the essential care is that you don't get a discount with your LOC membership.

  8. Wow nearly 6 months since my last post! Apologies for not keeping this up to date, one thing leads to another and before you know it mods have been done but lots of time has passed! I'm glad to say I've finally gotten air ride on my car and working! It drives incredibly well and very comfortable and I think looks the dogs bits when it's fully aired out! I've also now gotten a proper debadged front grill, interior lace set, oem sunroof deflector (still got 2 spare for sale aswell :o ) I believe I've had the wooden steering wheel since my last post also, aswell as a set of oem jdm floor mats to match. The retrofit headlights are also finally done and on the car! So close to completion and I'm very pleased with the outcome It really has been a busy few months and here's a few pictures to enjoy! [Edit: it's a shame the tapatalk app ruins the quality of these pictures, if you want some higher res ones, drop me a follow on Instagram! Connor2x4] Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

  10. The sealant will wear off again so generally once they start they will need doing again or the sealant topped up at least once a year. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

  11. The kit is essentially this by the looks of it As Herbie points out, if you don't seal the lens after polishing it will just cloud again. No you don't have to remove the lamp.

  12. Not sure that it's original but I'm told by the seller that it doesn't need one as it hasn't reached 60000 miles and it's done on mileage and not time! I was pretty sure that the guy is wrong but wanted to check. Given the replies I've had here the best interpretation I can put on what I've been told is that he doesn't know. So if I decided to buy I guess I'd have 2 jobs to be done immediately : radiator to avoid transmission problems and the full timing belt, water pump, tensioner.. Then there's the air suspension....

  17. The MK II IS had 30 (Standard ), 60 & 90 second options in LPS ( Lexus Personal Settings) Hopefully, and I don't see why not, yours should be the same. Correction: This is not so much 'Welcome' lights ( coming on with remote keyfob) but 'Goodbye' lighting, for when you actually leave the car after use! No actual 'Welcome' option listed.

  18. William, have done more miles than anticipated and can make some informed comments. The miles cover awful country lanes, uneven and broken local roads and the M4 motorway. Replaced tyres were - rear Yokahama (originals) at 38,000 - front Dunlop Sport Maxx at 20,000miles. Fronts did not need replacing but decided to bite on the (cost) bullet and do all four. · First impressions are good. The car rides more comfortably, what you might expect from ‘normal’ tyres and not the low-profile harder ride. Tyres seem to smooth out road unevenness and imperfections. · Noise level is slightly reduced – hum rather than roar and a comforting swish when driving through snow melt wet roads. · snow use was limited but excellent and this will be further tested in France at month end. · Cornering and braking appear to be much the same although I do not push the limit. Maybe imagined but I do feel as though I am in “safe hands”. Certainly don’t regret the change or the slightly higher cost.

  20. OBD2 may be an industry standard, but it is only standard for engine, and emissions systems. Each manufacturer is free to use whatever coding they wish for such things as transmission, security, and safety systems to name but a few. Also the actual connector used is not standard manufacturers such as BMW, and Mercedes use there own sockets requiring adapter leads to connect. It is about time manufacturers let vehicle owners have free or affordable access to the systems built into there cars. In the USA some states are now pushing to put this into law allowing owners to have the ability to fully service there own vehicles. The practice of locking down systems has spread to heavy goods, farming equipment, forestry equipment, mobile cranes, and much more. This can mean that large pieces of equipment such as a combine harvester broken down in a field will need loading onto an articulated vehicle to be transported to a manufacturers repair agent costing hundreds if not thousands of pounds in remote areas to transport for some perhaps easily fixed item once the codes are retrieved. The time taken for this at harvest could be critical to that crop. Surely we should have the ability to work on our own vehicles without the extortionate prices charged for the ability to read codes. My son in law has a Buell motorbike. This has the ability to read, and clear any fault codes on the dash board something that would cost pennies to be available on the Toyota/Lexus displays, but we have to pay circa £120 at the dealers to have the diagnostics read before they will carry out any work even if you supply them with the codes from your own equipment. Even then there seems to be a policy of throwing expensive parts at the problem until it goes away. It is no wonder there is a thriving industry in so called pirated software, and I am happy to use what is available to access information stored in my own vehicles about my own vehicles without being held to ransom. Gone are the days when if our car had a misfire we could say to the local garage fit a new distributor cap leads, and plugs. We now have to have the codes read, and an ignition coil replaced probably taking the bill to over £250. Maybe i'm just getting old, but if that's progress count me out. Rant over. John.

  21. It's not the Techstream software that's the problem but the drivers for the miniVCI cable, but you need the cable if you want to use Techstream - legitimately or otherwise.

  22. mine went on my Mk1 about 12 years ago now, the car would have been 15 yrs old .............. cost me £6 at local factor who had one in stock so I suspect it fits other marques too Malc

  23. Almost 20 years for a 'moving' part exposed to hot coolant/steam with a critical rubber component ain't bad in my book. £35 instead of £42 is a bonus but I agree £25,£20 or £15 would be better still! But you know it's gonna fit and might last for another 20 Years!!!!! Can't see QH or FirstLine coming close in that sort of quality ( something gotta give for the lower prices) that's if they fitted!! Paul M.
