Or does a fish swim..... bullet proof reliability. I have never ever seen a Lexus broken down, AA and RAC make good money out of Lexus customers, all money in, no trips out. Ok maybe that’s an over simplification, as any car could get a puncture, but mechanically and electrically reliable it is, says Yoda. Go get one, you will love it, best car I have ever had.2 points

`T`was in Lexus Chester and in Blue with a dark Leather (?) interior. Poor rear seat room behind the driver. Poor visibility out of rear side windows for rear passengers with shaded glass and uplifting waist line Poor amount of Boot Space An excellent and expensive shopping trolley for those without families.......in my view !2 points

Having seen one in Lexus Swindon earlier in the week I tend to agree. Nice, but not very practical. Also, I was slightly offended by the hard plastics on the rear doors (soft on the front) on a car costing £40k (it was a Takumi spec in Sonic White). Feels like needless penny-pinching, especially when next to it in the showroom was an NX with Premium pack costing £500 less...2 points

Speedo converter with instructions depending what vehicle to go on, https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F382848309912 Radio band expander https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F302611558345 I know of some aristo owners who have removed the emv & replaced it with a gs300 heater control panel & an aftermarket head unit, I'm happy with the factory unit as I only listen to talk sport,radio2 & my cd's I've had imports for nearly 15yrs never had an issue with insurance. Any pics of named cars? Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk2 points

Firstly, the US cable works fine with my iPhone XS Max. The ES and my NX both recognise the iPhone in the infotainment system. You need to remove the rubber USB cover first (don’t worry, it clips back on). The USB end of the cable works either side like Apple’s lightning cable and, yes, you can close the lid! But it’s a tight fit. For example, when you press the lid release button you’ve got to give it a gentle hand to release as the cable has wedged it shut. The cable, however, is braided so should put up with some abuse. Any questions - just ask. And now the pics...1 point

Not sure if anyone's into BMW's here but just got this at a very reasonable price, already got the full drivetrain package to swap it into M3 evolution spec with a 43000 mile engine! I'll be working on it most Sundays so can see it being a long project,I've got a thing for fast saloon cars and estates so this fits in with the ISF perfectly.1 point

Its variable, 30K I've had no issues aside from a flat tyre the otherday. I was able to sort out my self but we do alot of miles in the Tesla, so £125 is not alot to pay for premium coverage even if that's just for flat tyres. Some Tesla owners really do have lemon cars though, with things constantly going wrong.1 point

And in other news, went to the Classic Restoration doo daa at the NEC today in the 9-5. Made it all the way there AND all the way back. That's a result in anyone's book.1 point

Just pulled into my road and a Caxton grey ISF (59) plate (all I got) was pulling out, (gutted as I was in my BM tourer, dropping 4 kids off at cinema) I’ve now seen a USB in my local BP garage in Wickford last year and now a grey one in my street.......having had mine for 4 yrs......could it be a trend 😂😂..... starting to feel my cars common 😂😂1 point

Happy days! Glad you got a ( inexpensive ) result! I love it when you end up with the same outcome but your wallet is not battered! Cheers Paul M.1 point

According to the workshop manual yes, the radiator can be changed without disturbing the AC condenser and/or the 'other' one.1 point

Well that was simple enough and took no more than 10 minutes. Interestingly the two prongs needed for this are missing from the spine of my toolkit but thanks @Texas as I would never have know to even look. So two jewellers screwdrivers carefully inserted did the trick and just the normal tension of pushing the screwdrivers together while pulling and out comes the clock facia. Following the instructions from @Texas ejecting the DVD confirms its original 09-09 Ver 1 when ejected. My new £29.99 disk does look like original Lexus version and is noted 2017 18 Ver 2 on the disk and when loaded the car reads it correctly. Slot the clock back in and all is lovely and indeed shows a new local link road built around 12 months ago. So in the end I'm very pleased. Not an exact price comparison @CADman for all 4 European disks but I don't need the other 3, just the one with the UK on which is West Europe. (That said additional disks are available direct from the supplier for an extra £10 when placing an order so possibly £60 all in?. (I wish now I had bought one for my IS 300). As ever I guess the price of piece of mind for Lexus doing it or having a go yourself. Im a have a go sort of guy.1 point

Is a Lexus reliable is a bit like asking "will the sun rise tomorrow?" Hybrid batteries are now covered for up to 10,000 miles annually, for 15 years if they are given a Hybrid Health check for free with the Lexus annual service. Enjoy the car Petr.1 point

I had a few rejections due to it being a modified import but not many, more being a Manchester postcode but I went through the back pages of Jap car magazines & rang companies listed for the best quote, never had issues again Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk1 point

I doubt that it counts as a mod, it's just a replacement. I used to have a Nissan Maxima QX 3.0 SE+ and none of the usual suspects (Kwik-Fit et al) could supply a replacement exhaust, all quoting it as a "main dealer only" part. Just for giggles I rang Nissan and was quoted almost £900, to which I replied, "Whatever you're drinking, I'll have a pint of it" I went to a local place and got a stainless system made up, guaranteed for the life of the car, for £395, which I thought was excellent. However, the salient point here is that they used the existing exhaust as a template to make the new one. Every bend, curve, length, diameter and so on was directly copied from the factory exhaust so I don't see how that could be a modification - it's just a replacement. Having said all that, I do agree that for the sake of a simple phone call it's better to be safe than sorry, but I just don't see how that could be classed as anything other than just a straight-forward replacement.1 point

Don't worry, the RX is fine. Most likely, I am adjusting to life outside of an LS, that's all! 😉 The LS got under my skin, I suppose - a bit like your IS, maybe. So part of it is "that's not the same" which will eventually go away. And the RX does a ton of stuff that the LS can't, which is the whole point of swapping over. Trilby, you say? Well, I do love the 190E, and I have the perfect accessory. 😄1 point

I've made up my mind. I shall buy the part on eBay and do it myself, I've got a friend who said he'll give me a hand. I'll let u guys know how it all went once I do it 😁😁😁1 point

My Celsior came via an importer so all the taxes, registration etc was already done, as was the instrument cluster, changed to Mph. The history is in Japanese so it means very little to me. The radio picks up radio 2 which is what I listen to, plus one other station where everyone seems to shout so that stays off. I'll be testing mine in May on the German autobahns so I won't know about speed restrictions until then! I put a UK nav disc in mine but it doesn't work so a used unit for about £200 is the answer. Many insurers won't cover imports but there are companies that specialise. An auction sheet with good grades is important too.1 point

Quite right Dan. I have both a Torque Converter box in the old Merc and a CVT in the Lexus. I drive them both the same way and just glide along with both not looking to "kick down" in either. They are both enjoyable and in my opinion, both supreme.1 point

My god, must be the season for getting shot of your ISF. Two in a week. I’m keeping mine if anyone wants to tell me what a great idea that is! 🤓🤓1 point

Ok, had mine 10 months,,,, the dislikes- 1. The passenger seatbelt when not in use rattles on the b-pillar. Havent found anything that will stick inbetween that works. 2. Road noise on motorway. 3. Best cvt i test drove by a country mile however i do find it over revs on hills until speed builds up. the likes- 1. While no car matches the quoted mpg this is the most economical car ive had and regularly get 54mpg + 2. The hybrid works seamlessly and switching between battery/ engine around town the car is very very quiet. Very easy car to drive. 3. Paint quality/ finish. No orange peel anywhere... try that on a ford or vauxhall lol.1 point
