Its actually a ploy by Lexus. If the motoring press was constantly singing the praises of the brand, then everyone would want one, and it would loose the appeal of being different. Not everyone can be in the enlightened minority.2 points

A couple of months away until Lichelle returns to Germany.... #ringprep underway 🙂 So far - RR Racing USRS 10 litres Mobil 1 Mahle oil filter Brembo discs front and rear Brembo rear pads Ferodo DS2500 front pads HPS post MAF intake pipe Tom's drop in filter Dot 5.1 brake fluid Just got to decide whether to run the HPS Intake pipe with Tom's drop in filter or run the Takeda intake currently on the car. 🙂 I wish I had a cheaper passion sometimes 😉1 point

Hey Everyone, I made a wee video on the collection of my 1st Lexus, I hope you love the video? I am loving Lexus ownership. Enjoy, Thomas1 point

I don't know why I keep going back to it, the UK motoring press.Perhaps I'm being paranoid. But I mean, it can't just be me, can it? I mean, are Lexus really so bad that they can lose every single UK comparison test? Or is something else going on? Latest one I've read - rather, skipped to the end in anticipation of it being negative - is this one: BMW 8 Series vs Lexus LC I haven't driven either (obviously), but I mean, really? A diesel over a petrol-hybrid because of better infotainment? Perhaps others can advise... As an aside (pointedly, perhaps), I notice that this story that was posted at 9 Apr, 2019 11:10am, already (as of 9 Apr, 2019 8:02pm) has had its Disqus comments section closed. Cynically, you could say it is to shutdown discussion of a major sponsors product. A bit like it has been on the glowing article on the new Skoda Scala...1 point

Yes had it checked after fitment. No adjustment was needed on mine 😁 without a doubt the best mod I’ve done on the car. Kicking myself for leaving them in the box for months!1 point

@Mattmech Thanks. I hope so. Possibly a silly question but did you have to get your alignment checked once fitted. Mine is setup quite nicely at the moment so unsure whether I have to visit an alignment centre again once fitted.1 point

👍🏻 You’ll notice the difference with the usrs on the car. Made a massive difference on mine! Let us know how you get on with the ds2500 pads. Had them on a previous car and rated them highly. matt1 point

Thanks, I knew about the window trick with the keyfob. I was thinking of something a little better than to take apart the switch of the roof open/close button and wire it to a wirelessly controlled relay. I will leave it, the car is a beaut and I will leave her that way.1 point

Sadly I remember the days when cars struggled to reach half of that millage without at leased an engine rebuild. John.1 point

Mine just flicked over the line too - I'm sure we will be fine! 😎1 point

Ha, yes! I remember my dad timing the moment his Austin 1800 clicked back to 00000 at a suitable location for a good 35mm photo shoot (he did well, to give him his due). Felt quite an occasion. Now I've personally taken four cars past this milestone with hardly a thought. Sign of the time though: my Proceed ticked over 40k this morning, and I'm starting to think I should be considering a change... 🤦♂️1 point

I've done that route on two wheels a number of times, a fantastic road challenging for both drivers and riders, just watch out for the deer!1 point

Sadly I remember the days when the mileometer returned to zero after this ...........1 point

I think the point is overall reliability rather than comparing different classes of vehicle. Certainly my experience of newer German cars hasn't been great which is why ' i'm turning Japanese' 🙂1 point

Cheers Herbie, This looks pretty helpful. You're right in that its sold as part of a larger complete unit rather than just a motor and gear interface. Quoted £300 ish Inc. import tax from Amayama who i've used before. I plan to clean and flush the screwed rod and bushings as best i can, just to be sure its not just really gunked up before i go to the dragging everything apart stages... As i mentioned, with a little outward pressure on the steering wheel i can draw it outwards, so i do have moment, and cant hear any plastic crunching from around the little gear chamber. Hopefully, If i manage to regain quiet and free movement after a good clean and degrease, i'll lub it with white lithium grease and keep an eye on it. Fingers crossed for a cheap fix..... hey ho !! Many thanks for your reply, much appreciated ... G1 point

OK, I have just checked Oil, water etc' etc' all good, done B/days tip ( which wasn't clicked as it should be) took the car for a quick spin and vsc,vfs lights went out. Check hybrid system was still on so also did a tip I seen today about holding the trip meter and restating the car then pressing it 5 times. Not sure what it was this or the fuel cap but check hybrid system went off. Fingers crossed it should be ok now. I did notice the sensor behind the back d/side has broken so need that replacing. Thanks for the tips 10/10 will pop back here if anything else goes wrong.1 point

hi all, the fault light went off 4 days after. not sure what it was. I put it down to the cold snap at the time. its been running fine ever since. however, I did clean the MAF sensor which I've never done in the 9 years I've had the car. upon inspection the MAF sensor did not look like it had any dark patches or carbon on it. regardless, I gave it a good spray with sensor cleaner. day after car was running fine. however on the second day I noticed the car was "eager." a touch more responsive in acceleration. I know it could be placebo or maybe the temperature rose by a degree or 2. any way according to internet and this forum, its worth cleaning the MAF sensor periodically. on sunday I drove from Gatwick to my home which was all motorway driving, no issues, car smooth. one last thought, I probably need to think about changing the spark plugs. thanks1 point

Just noticed the original post's date stamp! Doesn't look like a current issue any more.1 point

Yes, a photo shop. Easy to do if you know how to use photo shop. Take a picture of the car with the Bonnet open, then the same picture with the Bonnet closed, crop the engine bay detail that you want in your finished picture, save it as a layer and then import that layer into the picture of the car with the Bonnet down. From there all you need to do is adjust the transparency level to allow the desired affect Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

You say that but my son's Merc C class - 2015 doesnt have a proper one either. It gives you an estimate based on current fuel consumption rather than average mpg so when you turn the car on first thing on a morning, it shows 100 miles on a full tank LOL1 point
