Not sure if this has been posted before (did a search and found nadda).... My brother just came back from a BTG Trackday at Nurburgring and sent me a random picture of a Lexus ISF on display at the Paddock Shop that has replaced the previous CCS-R (in museum). Turns out they have the ISF DTM concept car there. I thought it only existed on Gran Turismo but apparently this Unicorn is indeed real π Shame it never got to compete against Ze Germans in the DTM. Would have been cool π Pic my brother sent me.... The CCS-R π Did some googling and found these π7 points

The only thing I do is make sure its locked and keep the keys well away from the front of the house so they cannot use the signal boosters to get in and start it. Two cars ago I had a Range Rover P38 β¦ I was hoping that someone would pinch that, unfortunately they did not β¦ my biggest concern about anyone stealing that was them bringing it back when they found out how unreliable they were.3 points

I read that the new Lexus GT3 car is racing this week-end (today I think) should be interesting to see if the new team get anywhere. Going to search YouTube to see if there's any cover of the race.2 points

I would contact Paul Frost and ask him, he's so knowledgeable with these cars. I once took the speedo out of my LS400 and it wasn't difficult so I can't imagine the 430 is much different. This is PF's number. 075900726462 points

I agree and doubt there will be any appreciable wear...in fact there wonβt be. Needs a thorough service and some mileage...itβll be good as new. Given that itβs a straight car...1 point

Whilst I agree with you and understand the sentiment you make, these engines are incredibly robust, capable of 500,000 miles. There may well be wear because of lack of oil changes, but realistically it will outlast any new owner, probably without problem. I think I would be more concerned about changes to anti freeze and brake fluid, where any damage canβt really be measured.1 point

Halfords are quite often cheaper than Amazon. For example I brought some Scratch X the other day in Halfords for Β£11.80, it is Β£12.99 from Amazon.1 point

Overpriced compared to who? Is there another high street retailer with a similar range of products at lower prices or are you comparing them to amazon and ebay? Companies with a physical high street presence obviously can't compete with the likes of amazon on price alone. Debenhams just went into administration today, it's likely only a matter of time before amazon destroys halfords too. I don't have a lot of faith in our government implementing policy changes to resolve this, although they do sometimes witter on about it in the commons. Halfords is damn handy when you need something quickly, it'll be a real shame if it goes away. I think it's worth paying the small premium to buy from them for this reason alone.1 point

I do 10 miles each way in heavy traffic (23 sets of traffic lights!) and for the UX the individual trip comsumption meter reads about 45 mpg in the current weather. The IS gives that in summer, just over 40 when its cooler and sub 40 in winter. When I had an IS250 I was getting around 25.1 point

I always use normal mode and don't drive especially carefully. I had been driving the IS for 5 years before this so may have picked up the ways of getting the best from a hybrid.1 point

It wouldn't work - the lift motor and gas struts couldn't cope with the extra weight. Up to getting this hybrid, all our cars for the last 15 years have been converted to LPG and all we've done is to carry a can of Holts TyreWeld (or similar). This can cope with small stuff but if we had a blowout or something in the sidewall we'd just let the breakdown people deal with that. And, contrary to popular belief, the tyreweld doesn't harm the tyres - just lazy tyre fitters who don't want to get their hands dirty spreading that myth. This is our 85L tank with centrally mounted filling point (easy to fill from either side)1 point

if its of sentimental value then of course its a no brainer to fix it. if you tired of it and need to change to a younger car, it will still cost you more than a Β£1000 to buy that car in the first place..1 point

Me neither Lee...Iβd ask for the real reg number and validate the mileage. Looks trade or is this a library pic and is not the car itself? Looks a cracker...1 point

Yes, pretty much. But they'll often have 20% off selected items, 3 for 2 offers etc. With the additional 15% LOC discount on top of that, it can make their prices quite appealing. For the record I've also been met with a puzzled look most of the times I've presented my card at the till, but the discount has always been honoured in the end. Actually one time with even more than 15% being taken off because the person on the checkout tried to do the maths in their head (badly). [emoji3] Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk1 point

There are several things worth bearing in mind. Most Luxury/performance saloons are already limited 155 mph by gentleman's agreement amongst the manufacturers. In Japan until 2008 (?) all cars are hard limited to 112 MPH/180 KMH by law and engines were limited for 280 BHP (though the Nissan Skyline GT-R33 reputedly had 350 at the time). Both were implemented with safety in mind, though the limits were dropped in Japan after someone provided proof that there was no relationship between speed and deaths. On the new proposed regulations, as someone else has pointed out above, the limit can be manually over-ridden, so those who want to speed (I used to be a track day junky) can, where as the majority of people who are more likely to speed due to a tack of attention will not care.1 point

As it seems no one had the answer on this one... If anyone ever has this issue it's pretty simple. Remove the rear near side wheel. Looking at the lower part of the suspension spring, look directly behind it and to the left... You'll see a small 10mm Star nut that is on a small bracket. You simply undue the nut and slide it up or down (up moves the lights down, down makes the lights up).1 point

We love our Lexus IS200 it is 16 years old and passed it's MOT 6 months ago with no problems. However last Saturday my daughters' boyfriends' car rolled down the short hill and hit the car on it's right side, damaging the bumper, wing and headlight. We now have to part with it but we want it to go to a good home? Anyone interested in it for parts or to do up and keep going?0 points

Oh the lexus police are on the prowl. Removed my comment. You probably don't work for lexus, dont know anyone who works for lexus. It's a bit pathetic but apparently somewhere you class yourselves as grown up. Please delete this and me. Prove me wrong and leave it.. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk0 points
