  1. Hi guys, Thought I’d introduce myself. Most recently I’d owned a Jaguar XFS Portfolio 2014 model. A few weeks into ownership I began to notice massive corner cutting in quality, fit and finish. Poor paint, and poor materials. If you looked at it wrong the paint would scratch. The service from the dealer was shocking. Twice in a few months I had to take it in and on both occasions they gave it back to me with damage done to the car! After owning it for 3 months I sold it. Completely over rated brand. I knew then I did not want a German car or another Jaguar. I began looking at Lexus. One popped up with the colour combination I was looking for, silver with black leather. 25k on the clock and FLSH. 2008 SE-L. I love it. I can see the quality and attention to detail everywhere. This is so much appreciated to see. There are things I need to do to get it up to my standard (previous Mercedes concourse winner) and I’m doing that. So far it’s a solid car. Extremely solid with high quality materials. Its wonderful in comparison to the other brands I have had. Thankyou to all those who have helped me so far it’s really appreciated. Zak

  2. I bought my car with only one key fob. I already had techstream and a good cable, so bought a new spare key of an ebay seller for £100. Then coded the key to the car using techstream. You probably need to ask the seller that they can confirm the key is virgin since coding an alresdy used key would mean reseeding the key unit altogether and that should be avoided if you can. Also your current key will have a code like BG1EW or similar. It is important to match this too when buying. Regards. Ian Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk

  4. I was only joking @Farqui ! I'm pretty sure that the issue is with the HP side. Dealer had identified the same candidates as Chris @Mihanicos above, but as far as I can tell concluded that the pump was more likely than the valve/relay based on previous experience. Swapping the pump doesn't look too difficult (quoted at 1.3h labour) so given that I should be able to get a used one easily enough, I'm tempted to give that a go...

  5. Try chemical guys blackllight nano protectant and then spritz with their hypno v70 after washing to enhance the gloss. Saves loads of time and effort and looks great all year round especially in heavy rain when the water just rolls off 💦💦

  6. D4S bulbs from OEM manufacturers are typically around £85 each. I know I am possibly going to be shot down in flames, but I have used cheep bulbs from Ebay priced at £14 for a pair without problems in 3 years of use. Even if the lasted only 1 year before needing replacement they would still be considerably better value. Also be aware that some bulbs on Ebay come in what looks like OEM packaging, and at high price, but are in fact the cheap bulbs. When buying bulbs go for color ratings of 4500 to 6000. The higher the number the bluer, and whiter the light. Over 6000 the light gets very blue. At 3500 and below the light goes yellow. John.

  8. I had the email from Lexus too but as my 30month old 17k miles RC has only ever been fed V-Power I think I'll give it a miss 😏 I thought the owners handbook advised against fuel and oil additives?
