  2. Given that Tesla didn't open UK orders until 1st May 2019, that's a rather peculiar figure to quote. For 2019, Tesla will have sold more Model 3 in the UK than ANY single Lexus model (NX is their highest runner), despite deliveries of model 3 only beginning in June (and only 250 were delivered in June and July - volume only came in august). For August, September, October and November Tesla has sold more model 3 in the UK than Lexus has sold ALL models. The demand certainly is there, and just wait until April next year when company car BIK tax on a Tesla becomes 0% (compared to 25% for an ES300h and 30% for a 320d).

  3. Just a heads up that I've just purchased a touch up kit from these guys and the service was excellent. They are of course part of Fish Bros in Swindon. πŸ‘

  4. Maybe, just maybe, before I get too old and incapable, I'll be able to buy an unwanted V12 Toyota Century for the price of a takeaway curry!

  5. This is not concern - it is guaranteed, mine was written-off for much less damage: This is damage before and after some polish: The only other thing was that I kerbed one wheel when trying to avoid the incident: So if you have damaged doors I cannot imagine how they would agree to repair it and not scrap it. On the positive side, they definitely do not want to be dealing with old Lexus car so won't bother if you want to keep it. My advise - use fraudsters against fraudsters, that is do not go to your insurance, instead got for FCA registered claims management companies. Much less hassle and they will sort everything very quickly as long as it is non-fault accident (I can share some contact in PM if interested). If you go for insurance company you will be in deep puddle for at least half a year, paying deposits, driving nissan micras and getting substandard services.

  6. I would insist that a courtesy car meets your needs, I did once and got an estate which I needed. I also had a car written off which I bought back, had it repaired perfectly and ended up with an extra Β£1,000 in my pocket so if you are written off hopefully you can win in one way.

  7. Gutted for you John, I hope you get it sorted with minimal fuss and agro from the insurers.

  8. Sorry to hear this John. It is annoying that the new bits that are fitted aren't taken into account. Considering your situation, I would certainly be buying it back since they will probably offer it for a good price and at least you can make use of the new parts you have fitted.

  10. Only clip I have of the car not static, courtesy of someone else from a meet I attended the weekend, this was only to about 5k revs as the car had been sat for a few hours and was not fully warm. Gives an idea of what valves open sounds like for me driving to work each day... I'd be lying if i said i wasn't addicted to the go faster pedal! GSF_pull.mp4

  12. Definitely a situation where a jump start battery pack like this one would have saved a call to Lexus. These units really are superb little things!

  13. No, the boot on a 93 can't be remotely opened with a key. It only has one button for the doors. Just the key in the lock and the lever inside with the ignition off will do it. Lexus UK are going to provide keys for me! Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk

  17. Made the 220 Mile trip back home. Engine Management light came on twice and car subsequently went into limp mode. Cleared error codes with OBDII reader and continued journey. Got home ... Had suspicion that the mechanic had not cleaned the "MAF Sensor". Went to Halfords bought some Electric Contact Cleaner. Disconnected MAF sensor and sprayed cleaner. From the dirt that came from cleaning he MAF Sensor I confirmed my suspicions. Car now almost back to its former self. Drove the 220 miles on Monday, no Engine Management Light throughout journey. Fuel consumption up to 42 on the motorway and getting about 33 in town. Engine still a bit rough and jerky especially when cold. Can be hesitant accompanied by what seems to be very similar to misfiring. Unable to find the etci & efi fuses on both fuse boxes to reset ECU. Any Advice|Suggestions|Support Desperately Welcomed. Thank You in Advance

  19. The road noise reduction from the factory Yokohamas was considerable and the ride appreciably more relaxed. I doubt if the handling is ultimately much different to factory fit but this is not really a push on sports car so that was not a factor. The road holding seems better than standard but that could just be subjective. I was fed up of swapping wheels in winter, this seemed a reasonable compromise though as yet I have not tested in snow. I did have them on the CT though and that revolutionised the grip in winter. Having experienced them before made this less of a risky purchase too. I understand there is now a version 2 of Cross Climates. It is still a relatively expensive thing to do I suppose if your tyres are not needing a change but I figured that if I was buying a car like this and going to spend a lot of time driving it then it was worth that bit more investment to make the improvements.

  20. I'm glad I saw this, I bought some bulbs for the interior (along with some headlight bulbs) as I thought one interior bulb had gone but it turns out it hasn't. I ordered LED interior bulbs by mistake and thought I'd just fit them anyway. After reading this post I won't be fitting them!!

  21. There was also a road test in the US on the Tesla Model 3 over 25k miles and not one single fault was registered, so not bad quality.

  23. Despite pointing out to the dealer (after they had pointed out to me ) that this car doesn't have a full Lexus history its disappointing (but hardly surprising) that a Lexus main dealer is still advertising this car with a full history. This car had one service in its first three years before it went back to Lexus, and that was five months late. Second year service never happened.

  24. Mate that doesn't sound good but also doesn't sound like it should cost the price of a good used car id defo get second opinion i wonder if the steering rack is ISF specific? would make it a lot cheaper job if not, either way fingers crossed for you.

  27. My car was backed into today on a supermarket car park while I was in the car. The driver of the other car has admitted full responsibility in writing, and we exchanged details. The rear half of the passengers door is caved in along with some damage to the front of the rear wheel arch. The door opens, and closes ok. I will post some pictures when it gets light tomorrow, and add them to this post. Although the damage is not extensive or structural I am concerned the insurers will write off the car the usual tale of a 12 year old car with 140k + on the clock. I know the insurers will take little or no notice of the fact that the car has new shocks all round, new rear disks and pads, new tyres, and wheel refurb in the last few months. I guess the only sensible thing to do if it is written off is to buy it back as I doubt it would cost Β£500 for me to put it back as it was. I will keep you all informed as things progress, but I do not wish to be without my car over Christmas. I know I will get a loan car but this will be a KA or something like that will not take my mobility scooter. John.

  28. Just had my rx400h cat converter stolen from a car park in Park Royal West London. Expensive trip to Cinema with kids. Car park attendant saw nothing. Happened in during day so great job. Now have weeks without car to look forward to. Reported to police so let's see how that goes,!!
