  2. Sorry if it's been shared before. Saw it for the first time. Didn't know Toyota had a funny side.

  3. Had mine 5 yrs now, still love it and will most probably never sell, just always wanted a RR sport, will wait until I can afford one and keep the F, will only be a 3 month romance I’m sure 😂.......probably cost me more than my divorce too 😂😂

  4. Sad to see it go, must be the autotrader notification I got for new RCF's haha! If the 720 is what you really desire, give it bash, only live once! I understand the boredom, I kept the F, but bought a 695 Biposto... 😛

  5. I am looking at a Mitsubishi GTO MR and a 300zx both cars from an era I like. Next I'll try the new Alpine A110 as I had a 610. Then last of all having sold my business and a few of my Fender Custom Shop guitars a McLaren 720s although I'm beginning to think they are worse than Lotus on the reliability stakes so not sure if I will go any further on that.

  6. I thought it might be time for an update on my LX600h. Some of those with good memories will remember that I bought this from Lexus Stoke around 18 months ago. It is a 2008 model and had 100k on the clock when I bought it. It had a full Lexus service history which I am determined to maintain. The dealership included a 3 year warranty in the purchase price. It went for its second major service yesterday having just clocked over 130k miles (around 11k since the last service). A grand total of c. £120 was spent on a pair of windscreen wipers (for the MOT) and a service of the air conditioning system (due to the car's age and part of the normal schedule). Not bad for one year's motoring! The car was cleaned and fully valeted as part of the service. It looks brand new but sadly too dark to photograph now. The previous service at 120k was a little pricier with one major piece of the exhaust system that needed replacing. I'm looking forward to another 18 months of motoring and then will take stock and see whether I will be selling this car or carrying one with it for a longer period of time. Difficult decisions but I'm very, very happy with my LS600h and the accompanying ownership experience at Lexus Stoke. First class in every aspect.

  10. Sorry to hear your going David, I was almost certain as time went on you’d keep the RCF longer n longer 🤔.......whatever you choose I’m sure you’ll be happy with for a few weeks/months 😉.......good luck with your selling and purchase. (I was looking at the RR sport 5ltr V8 BUT can’t handle the reviews on problems and cost, even more so the loss) ........ISF it is 😉 All the best, Paul

  11. I'm going to arrange to drive one, as you say good bit of kit, I had an Alpine A610 at the same time as I had my V8 Esprit and I always preferred the Alpine to the the Lotus

  13. I am pretty sure I won’t be able to make ir to this one, I’m booked for service on the 29th of February, wich is the Saturday before, at Lexus Cheltenham. I will be staying for the night in Cheltenham, so I am up for a meet in that area on Saturday if anyone is interested. If anyone knows a good venue?

  14. The system in pre 2011 is rubbish, I always use my phone or my Garmin, mine is only partial postcodes and is a total pain in the @@@@ unless u have the FULL address. There is no software update to remedy the problem 🙄

  15. Hi Irish ISF, great to see another 1 down here!!! Well wear with urs and I'm sure ull have no problems with it!!! There's definitely another Black 08 and maybe a White 1 but I'm not 100% sure about that.

  16. The maps are well out of date. I asked the dealer to put the latest ones on and he said they were no updates which was obviously bollocks, but at least I got him to say the latest available were on it so he will have to update them if I can prove otherwise [emoji849] Are there current maps available for the ISF?

  18. When checking the battery terminals also check the connection where the battery lead connects to the car body. Rust under the connection is quite common, and can cause such problems. It would be also prudent to charge the battery while it is not in use. John.

  19. LV= covered me yesterday, fully comp, on all 3 Lexii, mileage of up to 4k on each, with legal expenses, parked in drive, dash cameras, one driver, for the annual equivalent of £998 per annum, with no need for mirroring (i.e, just 2 11years of NCD). And experience has shown me that LV's claim handling is civilised.

  20. Not main dealers, “Westfield Motors” near me (rawreth) they are Lexus n Toyota specialists, Lexus wouldn’t entertain fitting GSF manifolds to an ISF 🙄. Will keep you posted on what they say, fitment and any other information 👍🏻

  22. Ok, !!! It continues, this was the practice car and Glad I used this one, because one side on my daily …. well looks bad. Sadly I don't know what happened but lost the before photos but it was kind rotten you could poke your finger though it it was that soft ! so not good 😞 The other side I thought was better as well it was more solid, but the problem was someone jacked the car up on the sill so was finally going to fix that too ! So my friends parents are away and they lent me their garage as my drive is stones. Straight away much better, reversed up onto some ramps which gives me plenty of room. So, Ill keep the photos small but here is the drivers side - decided to take it back quite a bit to ensure there's no rust left. With the passenger side, thought it was better but oh I was wrong! not sure if its because it was bent, it kept all the moisture in or what but oh man ! wasn't expecting that ! and theres all the metal and dust I was just pulling away ! All the green stuff is rust covert stuff, trying it out to see how it does. Also whist I was under the car decided to look at the boot pockets as I knew I had 1 hole, but again 😞 didn't think it was that bad, also noticed the boot floor was looking a bit rusty, so may replace some of that as well … have plenty of metal and wire 😂 Also, the blue pictures, I was trying to figure out how to end the back plate, of the sill. Also …. that's my mates car who has asked me to do his next 😂 Anyone else got DIY sill repairs ? just wish I knew how to paint, if anyone wants to teach me !!!! ill travel for it 😛

  23. Hi all, Just a quick update on this, I managed to get this repaired using some super strong Gorilla Glue, it is really strong now and looks as good as new. Lexus weren't interested in a goodwill gesture, understandably really, but thanks to Chris JJ as it was worth a try. The cruise control works as well as ever and I didn't have to mess with an airbag, that made me a little nervous. Sadly, due to changes in personal circumstances, I'm moving the RX on this week. (Not because of the Cruise stalk 😂) I've loved having it and will miss the luxury, but needs must! Thanks for being such a helpful and welcoming group! Alex

  24. I would also suggest a check for damp carpets etc as you may have an excess of moisture in the cabin to have to use demisting so much.

  25. Here is a thread about the hoses on a Gen 1 RX300 on a USA forum... see post #19 for someones opinion re pressure and hose type. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-1st-gen-1999-2003/572881-diy-transmission-tube-assy-oil-cooler-2.html

  26. I expect most people know this but I'll just add that wiping the mist off the windscreen doesn't help. It's best if the glass is as clean as possible. Then the demister with aircon running should have no difficulty clearing the mist. But if you wipe it with your hand or a gloved hand it will transfer particles of grease and dust onto the screen. This gives the mist something to stick to, making it harder for the demister to clear the screen. I've always found that keeping the screen as clean as possible and then avoiding touching it is best for keeping the screen clear.

  29. There is no doubt that Lexus is a left field choice. I think the thing to note is the disparity between magazine road testers' views and those of owners. Testers in newspapers, magazines, Autotrader etc rarely rate any Lexus cars highly - see reviews of NX, RX etc - even reviews of LC and RC are pretty lukewarm. The GS gen 4 got fairly good reviews at launch but was still rated below the german, etc. mainstream opposition. Some of that was due to lack of a diesel option at the time, but look where that has gone! But then see owners' ratings and comments - once people have experienced ownership of a Lexus, many are hooked for life. And even many who stray end up coming back! For all their shortcomings - and there are some - they are a great ownership and driving experience overall. And you're driving something that most of the rest of the world don't even know about!

  30. Just chipping in on this as I have just replaced my 12V battery on a 2010 RX450h ... the original battery (dated April 2010 so probably with the car from new) was a D23 wet lead acid battery, a Panasonic battery with Toyota stamped on it, pretty bog standard, not deep cycle. The ones identified above by GSLV6 are too big to sit on the undertray so mayby there are some suble changes in the battery area between 2010 and 2014. I went for a slightly larger size than the D23 and purchased a Bosch S4 Car Battery 005 for £87 from ECP. It fits like a glove in the battery undertray and gives some additional capacity plus a 4 year warranty. Easy enough to fit.

  33. And just as an update for anyone wishing to avoid the *cough* hilarious Lexus prices for brakes... Replaced my fronts with EBC reds and now I have more than throughly bedded them in, would say they feel the same under regular everyday driving but the bite is much more noticeable for heavy braking, would also like to say that 90% of the god awful brake squeal the F's seem to be infamous for has disappeared and as an added bonus, hell of a lot less brake dust being generated in between washes! 😄

  35. Hey gang, it's me again 😛 - another car event, this time with much better notice. Goodwood Breakfast Club kicks off 1st March with Vee-Power Sunday 😄, free to enter, just have to sign up online so they know rough numbers, it's a cracking drive down/up/left/right (depends where you come from), be good to represent the F's V8 and you tend to get a good mix at Goodwood, with less ***** boxes. Usually hack down with my dad in his Aston from Aldershot area, happy to pre-arrange a meet up and drive down if anyone fancied. Will keep this post hopefully updated as I realise we are early January 😄
