Hi Herbie, Hi Malc My trusted tyre man agreed with you and Lexus today: the Pirelli Zeros' sides are now hard and they're almost illegal so I'm getting a new set tomorrow for £670 all-in. These are the quietest tyres for the LS600h, he advises, and is also a Lexus fan. I certainly find the Zeros very quiet on A-roads. Malc, my local independent is servicing the car next week, 15 months and 3k miles since the last oil change service. He'll remove a spark-plug to see if they need replacing; and says that I should stay with the front discs and pads for this year, given my planned 4k useage. I do find the car very quiet on the Zeros, on A- & M-roads. To be fair to Lexus, they suggested the best way to sell the GS450h is privately on Autotrader, at £5,995. Not tempted. Thanks again.4 points

Hi everyone. Thought I would update you on what I went for. A 2015 Toyota Auris Hybrid touring sport in Icon plus trim. couldn't afford the Excel and it only added road safety stuff and half leather. Liked the parking sensors though! could of had a 17 plate in silver and same Icon trim but 41k miles and a fleet car. Thought 15k miles difference is 18 months driving for me. Full Toyota history and done 25k. Added to current 940 insurance for renewal in April for £119.00. Went with 3 year warranty and service plan. Very pleased with it. James.4 points

Not only read it, I used to own that actual car! In the photos it's displaying a personal plate of the then owner ( who put the cat back exhaust on ). I know the original reg, but won't print it for privacy reasons. The car is well known on this forum. I managed to purchase a copy of the original magazine, and left it in the car when I part exchanged it.3 points

Anybody seen this article .https://www.modernclassicsmagazine.co.uk/driving/lexus-is-f?utm_source=mod_newsletter&utm_medium=email it is not the first time an ISF has been featured .2 points

May well be legal, but most likely not safe. Rubber hardens over time and it loses grip, also cracking can occur. Even if you're not bothered about your own safety, please get them changed for the safety of others.2 points

Welcome Tom. I agree with the first line of James` response to you. If you did buy from a Dealer , Do not however, follow his advice in his next paragraph,,,,,,, lest the Dealer disowns the car claiming that you have done something that has caused your niggle(s). If you bought the car privately, then take it to your Lexus Dealer and obtain a quotation for remedying such problems as they find. Then report back to the Forum with the findings so that we can advise you further. Good luck.2 points

Roy, Why don`t you ask Lexus UK Head Office (by email) to let you have a hard copy? You will not be the first person to make such a request.1 point

Owner's and Infotainment manuals are now online download PDFs Register with the My Lexus website and you can access the manuals and also see the complete service history for the car Manuals can be access separately if you wish simply click on the icon top right of the home webpage https://www.lexus.co.uk/1 point

So far they are way better than the Bosch Aeros. They give a clean wipe with minimal streaking, and they only get that on a cold misty morning. Hopefully they last well. 😁1 point

Thanks. It wasn't a complete loss because I picked up a couple of door cards I needed while i was there...1 point

Just a quick update to everyone here as a thanks to those who replied. Yesterday, between the rain, I found a nearby scrap yard that was breaking a 400h and went there. I tried a relay, and it wasn't the relay. So when I took off the panel to try a new motor instead, it turns out that a cable (I think the one that goes to the rain sensor) had broken off and got completely tangled in the mechanism. As soon as I untangled the wires the motor started working properly again. I'm not sure what damage being jammed all of that time did so I replaced it anyway (£30). Now I need to look at how to fix the rain sensor. I sense a new post coming up...1 point

I use one of these if I have to park anywhere that looks dodgy. https://www.autolok.co.uk/products/autolok-2000-plus-steering-wheel-lock Mine looks slightly different as I bought it to protect an Impreza Turbo parked on the street in South Manchester in the late 90s. The fact that such a car could go unnicked a mile from Wythenshawe is testament to its deterrent effect.1 point

Progress on my "new" '07 LS600h L RSR: passed its Hybrid health check & visual check apart from wiper blades. Front discs/pads (last replaced 10k miles ago) getting very thin. Pirelli Zeros 12 years old but still legal. 120k miles service quote inc. discs/pads & 8 Platinum spark plugs - a tear-inducing £1,150. Refurb'ed alloys this week £200, looking good. Full bonnet respray (tiny rust bubbles at leading edge) this month then cream leather full valet. All inside toys work except to refit internal TV antenna (an Alpine unit added by a Mr R Atkinson) and add DAB. Did I mention the out-of-this-world audio? Average mixed-useage mpg after 700 miles now 25. Not at all bad for a 5,000lbs example of Japanese masterclass engineering. Offered & declined £4k by Lexus for my '08 73k 2-owner GS450h: a keeper, as is '03 75k FSH SC430.1 point

If you bought from a dealer take it back under warranty for them to sort! I would say get the gearbox oil changed and go from there, also check the gearbox mount. Then get it on a ramp and check for play in bushes etc. I doubt unless asked for a gearbox drain/refill, if Lexus would of done it. Also check brakes for sticking. James.1 point

Peter, may be an Azure blue Takumi convoy there, seeing as you're in Wilts and I'm in Glos?....1 point

All one piece, get one of the wing like pieces loose by warming with a hair drier the lift that end up, the clips will pop as you go and some will need refitting and aligning. Once you get to the other side apply heat again to release the other wing. Once removed you will see a line of holes with white plastic inserts ( some of the clips may remain in these and will need pulling out to refit on the trim. The clips on the trip should be pink and are springy so fit between 2 tracks on the trim, once fitted you can slide these clips to align with the fixing holes before pushing them in.1 point

At least my reply here stirred some interest for this meet 😂1 point

I'm local too, so might attend. Not really interested in the museum as i've been in many times before. Would be nice if I didn't need to pay admission just to park up, but guess that's not an option.1 point

I’ll be going, it’s also been mentioned on the LOC fb page and numerous members have shown a interest in going, hopefully will turn out to be a big meet, Certainly be good to meet up with members from main forum and FB page1 point

https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-buying-guides/lexus-ls400---shed-buying-guide/41635 Nice article telling us all about our classic car! No mention of button checkers having sets of fingernails though.1 point

I think only John Wick should sleep with his keys. Not worth it IMO, you might be up against someone or a group who will do whatever it takes to snatch the car...😯1 point

Geoff. All the Lexus range "and most of the Toyota" adjust the headlamp height automatically. This is done by ride height sensors on both the front, and rear suspension adjusting the headlamps depending on the load being carried. John.1 point

My parents live in a sleepy little village, recently a neighbour had their car stolen and heard them in the act. Went downstairs and jumped in front of the car to stop them, they ran him over to get away. Currently in instensive care and going to have life changing injuries if he does make it. Police caught them, two fourteen year olds with no previous. If that level of criminal are willing to do that, other than being able to fish my keys through the letter box they can take my car. Also if you have an alarm put it on at night, cant understand why so few people do this.0 points
