  1. I decided on the Luxury when i bought my NX after a initial test drive. The car was 6 months old with 12,000 miles on the clock but as i am now retired and do around only 5,000 p.a. this was not a problem. It was not however a Lexus Fleet Car but the Service Managers car at Lexus Exeter and came with almost every goody added., which I found after some time looking for a "garage own car" as I knew they do tend to "dress" them to sell others Price was good due to "High Mileage" about Β£4000 less than others of same age with 5000 on the clock but three years later it has now 26,000 on the clock so well below average. Only thing I would say was a niggle to me was setting the SatNav with that dam wheel instead of the touch pad. Didnt bother with all the add-on's they wanted to sell me except the Service contract which is about to run out and i will renew with Lexus Bristol who have been great.

  4. Hey everyone, I hope you are well? During a recent trip to NYC I came across some cool Lexus models that we do not get over here in the UK. The GX model is fairly common there, I also seen the luxurious LX and LS models.

  5. Hi Steve, welcome to the forum and congrats on your new to you Lexus. For the TPMS reset on the drivers side, check next to the OBD port - ref; There is also another on the passenger side under dash panel. Maybe use a mirror as they are really well tucked under. There are several sets of OEM gs450h alloys on eBay at the moment but by the look of them they will need a refurb. Meanwhile, enjoy getting familiar with your new steed. Cheers, Lee

  6. Could the knock on full lock be the infamous "tyre skip" many owners (myself included) of low profile wide tyred cars complain about? Something to do with the tyre compliance, or lack thereof, at lower temperatures?

  7. Sean, Greasing the caliper pins is not part of a Lexus service and they routinely give trouble. (They do on other makes too.) Once they seize Lexus will replace the whole unit. Removing the caliper and regreasing the pin using the proper caliper pin grease annually will ensure they do not seize. It's straightforward job if you want to do it yourself and the satisfaction of keeping brakes working properly and avoiding a large replacement bill is good. John

  8. Unfortunately that is the one for the Premium nav - the OP (and myself) have the Standard non-premium nav (the one with the rotary knob rather than the mouse) and that manual (which I have in hard copy) does not seem to be anywhere online I could find.

  9. Lee. Because of the layout of the cam timing sensors it is usually the passengers side sensor that triggers the fault code. This is because the length of chain from the crank to this cam is about three times the length of chain to the drivers side. Therefore it sees three times the amount of stretch or ware on the hinge part of each link. Obviously not in the manual the chain can be changed "I have done this not on my car" by splitting both the new and old chains. Then join them together with a split link, and winding the engine over by hand until the link reappears. The link is then used to join the new chain ends. John.

  11. Thank you for the reply wharfhouse. I've been testing a little more and the Lexus 3d view + zoom does give me the kind of view I'm looking for, so I'm very happy with that. I'll have a look for the miles to destination setting, although ETA is good too.

  13. After a full term as a police officer I think that the policing in certain areas leaves much to be desired. Always any crime with a home Invasion especially a domestic burglary at night(to steal the transponder) immediately attracted a hefty prison sentence. This is not a victimless crime. Cheltenham race week night shift would involve recording the registration numbers of every car in every hotel and public car park resulting in recovery of quite a few stolen cars and cars used by travelling criminals and some very good arrests. Often these high performance stolen cars are used in serious crime by ruthless criminals. The trouble is the 'Snowflake' Police would rather prosecute 'Facebook' crime because its easy to get good detection rates and we all know that modern society loves a good graph or spreadsheet A lack of resources is trotted out as an excuse but the police deal with far less onerous tasks today than 40 or even 15 years ago. When did you last see a Blunkett Bobby on the beat. In my area probably not for at least 5 years, but you see them pretending to be real police in pairs in vehicles all the time..... Rant over. 🌼🌼🌼

  14. I have a 2015 IS 300h with the standard {rotary knob) sat nav and have a separate user manual for this in addition to the car user manual. On your questions however there is no 3d drivers eye view like you are looking for - just a 2d or mild 3d style. I think you can set miles to destination (though may be wrong on that) but I have mine set to the ETA for the the destination. I don't believe there is any way to show the cars current speed on the map.

  17. Nick. Was it considered a no fault claim or were you held to be responsible for the accident? Also how well did they treat you as a claimant? My claim could not have gone more smoothly apart from a delay with repairs due to a door having to be flown from Japan. John.

  18. You really need to compare the spec sheets of both models to decide whether you are willing to compromise. Another important factor to consider is that, based on your original entry, your budget might afford you a pre-facelift Premier... or a facelifted Luxury. The facelifted version has additional spec, including a newer, wide screen satnav. This wide screen satnav may soon be eligible to be retrofitted with Apple Carplay / Android Auto. Worth checking with the dealer.

  19. Hi Everyone, I'm after a little advice, first time Lexus owner on a 2006 RX400H Have owned for a little over two months now and all was going well (Done around 1000 miles in it so far) until car decided to die reversing up onto a steepish drive at a friends house. Had Check VSC and Hybrid System error and no local garage would touch it so went to Lexus. Turned out to be water ingress into the rear which is well documented here. They drained it out and cleared the codes and now is all OK apart from the fact I still need to try and seal the leaks! I have replaced the rear gas struts with new genuine lexus struts including new feat with good gaskets and used black toyota sealant underneath them, so they are water tight. I also used thread seal on the bolts. I have also resealed the Roofbar bolts and put some black sealant in appropriate areas there. I have also sealed the rear light although this did not appear to be leaking I know its not now! I have also sealed along the rear seam along the back of the boot. Since all my sealing its better but im still getting a fast paced drip when I test in photo one at the end of the black sealant where i've put a little clear temporarily just to show in this photo I know I can seal that last corner, but my concern is there is a big void behind there that water is clearly getting into and if I seal where will it go! I also note that the plastic that goes between the rear light and bumper and rubber seal doesnt sit flush at the top, and there is a largish gap at the bottom between it and the bumper. Is this normal?! Thanks for any help given!!
