  1. I had my ISF for 2 1/2 years and it’s coming up to 2 years I’ve had the GSF. For my daily, I normally have ichy feet at 12 months and at 18 months there’s something new on the drive. The ISF only went as a GSF came up in the colour combo I wanted. I’ve been really happy with both cars. Yes I’m always thinking of something to change to, both the kids drive, and flying the nest. We have another family car for the times they might come with us and for the durgs, so I don’t need a big saloon any more. But I’m struggling with what to get. I’ve got a 3.8 L chainsaw that you can scare the living daylights out of yourself if you’re in the mood, so don’t need the thrill. Not keen on any of the German wannabe leasetastic offerings - except the new RS6, or possibly a M2 CS. Both very different, but not sure I want to commit the (significantly more) cash at the moment. So for the time being the GSF is staying, unless something comes along that really turns my head....... suggestions on a postcard to.....

  2. Had my GSF for just shy of 3 years and I absolutely LOVE IT, I originally wanted an ISF but when I was finally at the stage to purchase one, I could afford a GSF which I did prefer. I have spent some of the queens pounds on a naughty boy exhaust and as Graham said above, whenever I get in and drive, I grin from ear to ear and don't really see that changing for the forseeable future. I love that only enthusiasts know what it is, I love that it is rare in the UK and I love that I can trust it'll still be putting smiles on my face well into 100k miles and beyond. Therefore, I plan to keep it until they petrol cars are completely illegal/ the car magically dies/ I die... 😂 I have the Mrs in an NX for dog and future children and I now have an LS400 to waft about in and currently looking at the GR Yaris for a 'run around' so I can keep miles off the F and use it for special occasions/ when I need some noise! P.S I do still have a thought in the back of my head to buy another one, but a low mileage example and leave it completely OEM and use my current one as a sleeper project for added fun...🤷‍♂️

Had my RC F for 20mths and spent a few £s on it and intend on spending more lol, currently have 3 sets of alloys for it 3 bonnets (yes you heard right) 2 carbon and original 2 exhaust systems 2 active spoilers complete set of discs and pads arriving shortly so ain’t getting rid of it any day soon usually keep a car for 4-5yrs but even to this day i smile and grin like a child when i look at car and giggle like a school girl when i drive it ask me this question in 10yrs time and you may get the same answer 👍🏻

  4. I've had my RC F for 2y 4m, no plans to change in the foreseeable future. It's 4 1/2 yrs old but only has 23k on, and as I only do about 8k a year it will be a while before it's a high mile car. I plan to run it under the Lexus extended warranty programme. Still enjoying the car each time I go out in it, and I view it as a lot of car for the money i.e. to get something appreciably better and / or newer would require a step up in value.

  5. Gauges on airlines at garages are often inaccurate in my experience. By all means use their airlines but better to have a gauge of your own to accurately check the pressure after. If you do have to drive more than a few miles to the garage your tyres will also have started to heat up which will give an increased pressure reading. Especially if you have driven at high speed, eg along a dual carriageway. If you can’t avoid this then inflate to 1 psi more than the recommended pressures. If tyres are very hot then inflate to 2-3 psi over the recommended reading. Pressures should really be checked on cold tyres but in ambient temperatures of more than about 5-7 degrees C. This is because colder ambient temperatures will also lead to a lower pressure reading. In very cold temperatures I’d add 1 -2 psi to the recommended settings to compensate. Once satisfied that all pressures are correct then you’ll need to reset the tyre pressure monitoring system. This will correctly set the level that continuous tyre pressure measurements will be compared to. The main reason that tyre pressure monitoring systems give a warning in winter is related to the above. Over time a tyre will suffer from a little pressure drop because they will lose a little air. This, together with colder winter temperatures where a tyre’s pressure will also drop is often enough to trigger a warning. Often you’ll find that driving the car until the tyres warm up will clear the warning (because pressure will increase as the tyre warms up) but this should be treated as a warning that the tyres are no longer set to their recommended pressure or at least the pressure that the TPMS is monitoring at and pressures should be checked and the TPMS reset. Having TPMS fitted is not a reason to never check tyre pressures. TPMS will give a warning when the pressure in a tyre drops by a specific amount which is of the order of about 3-4 psi. What it won’t therefore do is warn that over time the pressure in a tyre has dropped by say 2 psi. I’m not trying to preach here. Tyres are the only things that keep a car on the road when cornering and I regularly check mine about every 500-1,000 miles to keep them at the optimum pressure. TPMS is a great system for warning when pressure in a tyre or number of tyres has dropped but it shouldn’t replace regular checks.

  6. We’ve had our GSF for 18 months. We tend to keep our cars for 8+ years as they are generally a Lexus or Toyota and nothing major really goes wrong with them. Having said that, I can’t see us selling the F until we have to go down the electric route.

I n my opinion the engineers belonging to a motor manufacturer usually get the balance between a smooth torque curve and high end power and noise about as good as you can get , for a comfortable road car with refinement . After market products may improve one area or another !. ie noise for boy racers or BHP for guys who sit on a dyno machine and check graphs. My advice .........stick to OEM and leave your car the way it was designed . !!!I just put the rear sections and middle sections on an SC . OEM was around 300 per section so not that much more than SS . It will last another 15 years so thats OK with me !!

  8. My IS250 did the same thing. It was the only time in 12 years it happened and like you, there were no ne'er do wells loitering around when I went out in my dressing gown to check and nothing on the CCTV either. Maybe it's an attention thing?

  10. I plan to keep my GSF until I know longer need the saloon shape. Which will be once my youngest is grown. 😅 The problem with wanting a GSF is the fact that there is only 50 odd about, so the colour, year, spec combo mentality has to be semi thrown out the window and you just need to be ready to buy one when it becomes available. And even that can be tough, there was a white GSF for sale by lexus Coventry back in October which 3 different forum members were chasing none of us got it. Just keep your pennies ready and search daily twice. You'll find one.

  11. Last night at about 3am my 2014 IS300H alarm went off for no reason and after about 10 seconds stopped by itself. I checked CCTV and there was no sign of anything suspicious so unsure what would have caused it and furthermore why the alarm stopped itself after a few seconds. Done some research this morning but couldn't find an answer. Any ideas what caused this to happen?

  13. I've had my RCF a smidge over two years and up to a few weeks ago was my daily driver. However I've since bought a A Class for daily duties and RCF is now for weekends only. Mileage is now 2-3k pa instead of 9k pa over the last couple of years. Using man maths and keeping the miles off the RCF, I will recupe most of the A Class cost back due to reduced depreciation upon sale and significant fuel savings. Being honest I got use to the RCF and it no longer felt special due to it being my daily. However now being my weekend car, it feels great again and enjoy taking it out and will probably keep it for 5+ years. Not sure on my next car, I like the new Corvette, LC, AMG GT, R8 v10 or maybe something electric. First world problems in these crazy times.   15. Thank you and yes. Found it. It's on the front passenger side underneath the glove box. Had to remove the lower panel, ( 3 square holes with catches ) , unclipped the small footwell light. Left the glovebox in place. Looked underneath and its very near the bottom LHS, by the door, with a small rectangular black panel in front of it.

  16. For the last few months I've been using an app called Tire Assistant which displays the readings transmitted by the TPMS sensors. I've found that the sensors are pretty accurate when checked against a reliable pressure gauge. Garage pump gauges are often inaccurate. This is a link to a thread about Tire Assistant. When the car is starting from cold the engine runs at a low power setting for about a minute and it doesn't generate any electricity that can be saved in the hybrid battery during this low power state. I've read that some Prius drivers try to maximise their mpg by not driving the car until this low power state ends. This is interesting but probably not worth doing in financial terms. But if I'm not in a hurry I sometimes start the car and then check Tire Assistant while the engine warms up for a minute or so before setting off. I don't have to get out of the car to check the tyres and with little effort I have the reassurance before setting off that the tyres are ok.

  18. No check the spec sheet online it's a v6. I was looking for one for ages. Especially the Cadbury dairy milk foil colour purple with cream interior and wood pack with an automatic transmission. They hold their value well. It just still doesn't have the prestige of a lexus. With the money you spend on an accord 2.4 v6 ur best bet is to invest in an is250 sel edition with all the trimmings. It's also and v6.

  19. Exactly the same as what i experienced with mine from a company that made a SS system in Ellesmere Port. It was on my last IS250 and it got to the point that i made one myself as at the time they were not available from the likes of ATS etc as the pattern part had not been released by Lexus. Made it from 3" mild steel pipe using an IS200 centre resonator and two Rover ZR back boxes. Bit of fiddling around with it but got it right with no noise and it looked good as the Rover boxes, the only ones i found that would fit in the underbody recess, had twin pipes per box and it did make a difference to the way the car performed which was a lot better. The IS200 box fitted great, was a bit smaller but with the bigger pipes and the twin boxes the car went really well. Unfortunately it was written off !

  24. I always assumed that entire window is heated and antenna is the shark fin. Really not sure why it would be anything else than that.
