Revised Lexus GS Range Revealed
By James Mosley
Lexus has used the Frankfurt Motor Show to display the revised Lexus GS featuring an all new front end that brings the car in line with the rest of the Lexus family. The car now features the familiar and distinctive Lexus spindle grill giving the car increased presence.
New Bi-LED headlights also feature on the new look front end while the rear of the car also features revised lamp units and trim. New 18 and 19 inch machine finished wheel designs also help to complete the fresh look.
Lexus has also announced a new GS200t for certain regions (not the UK though unfortunately) which will feature the 2.0 turbocharged unit that we are now familiar with across other parts of the Lexus range.
Inside, the car’s analogue clock, housed in a single ingot of aluminium has been upgraded with a new GPS function that allows for accurate time zone changes – useful if you’re regularly covering long distances or perhaps even a nice way of combating that pesky daylight saving time. The 12.3 inch screen where specified will now also get a full screen map function plus improved voice recognition and graphics. The Lexus remote touch interface controller has had a new side mounted “enter” button added too for improved operation.
Lexus Safety System+ is now available across the entire range too, as per the new 2016 Lexus RX. The system features a pre-crash system with pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, auto high beam as well as adaptive cruise control.
