  1. If you do a search under titles "Ls400 With Is250 Alloys Pics" you should find them. The first picture is before I had the bigger tyres fitted, the second picture is with the 235 50 17 tyres.
  2. Hi All, I am running 17" IS250 Alloys on my 98 LS400. I have 235.55.17 tyres all round. You won't be able to go any wider than that on the front as they will rub on the suspension. Hope this helps.
  3. Hi there! Mark 3 door mirrors are a very slightly different shape to the mark four although they may still bolt on? However the mirror glass is the same shape on both models as I replaced my mk4 glass with one from a mk3. Hope this helps?
  4. Hi All, Just a thought - When I changed the transmission fluid on my old GS, pouring the fresh fluid in stirred up the sedement in the sump which then blocked up the filter / pickup pipe and caused very very bad gear changes (sometimes it just stayed in first!!) Had to remove the sump, clean it out and wash out the filter, I then changed the fluid a couple more times after this. This rectified my problem.
  5. Hi all - FYI: Purchased 5lt of the Toyota Transmission fluid T-IV today at a cost of £43.70 from a Lexus main dealer. When checking your transmission fluid, I think the general rule is to do so when the gearbox oil is hot, with the engine running and the transmission in park. I could be wrong but this seems to be the general rule for most automatics.
  6. I have a MK4 with the same issue, no "pip" when I lock the car. The push button switch under the bonet does not make any difference!? Anyone come across a solution to this yet? Rob
  7. Im good, i'm still here.....sorry i've not been on for a while! The Lex has been in the garage having a new timing belt and water pump fitted as a service requirement. Thanks for all the great comments guys! Its really appreciated. I have not personally measured the offset of these wheels. I have only looked it up on search engines and eventually came to the conclusion that the offset was correct. The RX wheels definately have the wrong offset....I think Lexus have kept the offset of all the other wheels pretty much the same. I'll see if I can find a link later on tonight as i'm quickly typing this in my lunch break! Cheers guys
  8. I'm very pleased, especially as they've fitted without needing spacers or spigot rings. I think the 235/50 profile tyres fill the arches nicely without affecting the ride comfort. Thanks for you nice comments guys, nice to know I make a good decision once in a while lol
  9. Well here we are...LS400 with IS250 alloys with 235/50/17 tyres LS400 ALLOYS LS400 ALLOYS I'm relieved that they fit!
  10. I am looking for some new alloy wheels to tidy up my LS. I've spoken to Rochford tyres this afternoon who have advised me that many wheels do not fit this model of car due to the large brake calipers, even though the offset is 50?? Anyway....I am looking at a set of IS250 alloys on ebay and I was wondering if anybody could confirm if these will fit an LS400 and clear the brake calipers? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Rob.
  11. Hello all, Would anybody be able to tell me if the Mark 4 wing mirrors are the same shape as an earlier model....say a mark 3 for example. Mine has been smashed and Lexus want £164.00+VAT Just for the glass!!!!!! Thanks in advance, Rob.
  12. Does anybody have a complete induction kit for my MK1 GS300? Would gladly take it off your hands.....for a price of course Cheers! Rob - in Bedfordshire.
  13. The dash cluster is fairly easy to remove. There are three typs of bulb. The main bulbs that illuminate the the numbers and behind the fuel/temp gauge etc are a long life 14v bulb available from lexus only. The small warning lights (i.e handbrake on light )are a standard bulb you can get from halfords. The bulbs for the PRD2L display in the middle are different again (cant remember what they). Message me if you want instructions on how to remove the cluster (i've done it 4 times already) TIP: Change all the bulbs at once (I changed one, put it back and two more blew right after) it'll save you time in the long run!!
