  1. Just picking up on this. My wife's RX400h will be 3 in July. It was in for a check and the dealer said the wheels were corroding. They looked fine - for three years old to me. anyway, they replaced them all. Good service.
  2. Coincidence -as we are discussing best bike rack for my wife's RX400h. A couple of questions: 1. I see the logic of the tow bar mouned ones. 1.1 I hate tow bars. Is there such a thing as a removable one? 1.2 Does the bike not obscure the number plate? 2. My wife has a bad back. I recall seeing a roof rack which cantilevered down to assist. Is such a device available? Thanks.
  3. So Jon - worth changing now - or better to hang on? What do you think?
  4. Jon, Thanks so much for that. Close shave. I would hate to buy another one this year and find it superseded next. Love the present model - but I am sure the next one will be better still. We were offered £31,500 - first regd July 2005 - 17k on the clock. I wonder if they will take an order for the 2009. Would be nice to be first in the queue. What do you think? Thanks again for your guidance. Spizz
  5. @bobby, Dealer told me they could remap gearbox and would cure lurching. When they attempted to do this it effectively blew up the ECU and the car was immobilised for 3 days. When back on the road the gear box appeared strangled but slightly smoother ( progress was slower ) Am moving back to BMW saloon (which is where I was before the Lexus) this time its an Alpina D3 Intersting - I aam thinking of D3 to replace my Mini cooper S
  6. Our RX400h is coming up for two years old. Do you think it is better to trade at 2 years or 3? We have double black just now. thoughts on best colur combo? Is there a new or improved model in the pipeline or is it safe to change now? Spizz
  7. Over the Xmas break the battery on the RX400h drained completely. The RAC man was guided by Lexus over the phone and the car returned to good health. Only thing - before this, the average mpg was 28/29. Now it is 25. Is this a coincidence. Or could there be deterioration of the batteries.
  8. I agree difficult. But in my view the RX feels more complete. Good balance of luxury, cool, with street cred. In fact, all in all the best car we have ever owned. (It follows a Porsche 996 and an Audi RS6 Avant.)
  9. We get around 29 mpg in town driving. To put that into context, we got less in our Golf 1.6 FSI which it replaed. My Mini Cooper S JCW gets 28.2. S, not bad for a big, comfortable cruiser. Buy a Prius if all you want is economy. Buy the RX400 if you want combo of luxury and reasonable consumption. As such, I think that it is really fab. By the way, it is one of CAR's top 10 for 2005.
  10. There is a surprisingly deep chip in the windscreen of my wife's RX400h. I seem to recall reading that these could be fixed. Any idea who does this? Am in Glasgow area.
  11. Irritating. A tiny ding in the lower half of the front door of my wife's black RX400h. Any suggestions as to who could knock out? I once used Dent Wizard on my Porsche. The job was good. But it took them ages to come out.
  12. Car comes next week. Looked at camera today. Quite impressed. Love the parallel parking function.
  13. Looks fab. What colour is it? We have ordered SE. What do you get in the SE-L? Is it worth it? Spizz
