a guy i work with has just come back from america (married) and is a complete petrol head - he is lookind at bringing over a mustang - it retails for $19,000 and to ship here is £800 - the draw back is vat. if a yank imports and keeps the car for 2 years there is no vat but if he sells within the 2 years there is vat to pay. this may be a complete load of bllox but it sounds very feasable

if i were in your situation steve i would hit him in his throat with my hand lay open in a cutting/sweeping position. this gives 2 options. 1 you can run like f---- cos you're scared or 2. stand and watch the big bully lay there about gasping for breath for 10 minutes with a look of sheer panic on his face - i always go for option 2 - works every time.

keep it standard because it will look better on a Lex - my gaps are misplaced and blatant but i've never been tugged by plod - you will with fancy fonts and keep the rear plate standard, only do the front one (my personal preference)
