  1. Hi, I've used a lot of burnt CDs in my IS200, and some in the new 400 and have never had a problem. If it's a good quality player (which I think it is - and the sound is excellent to my ears in the basic SE system) and you use fairly high quality discs (ie TDK or Sony) then there shouldn't be any problem. Gustavo Hi Alex, don't know how that works as each cd holder is seperate, also if they were thicker it would affect any cd player, i think the Lexus guy has got that wrong. Unless someone out there knows different! off topic i know but interesting. Still think the system sounds well good, much better than most cars i've heard. ← Hi Bartierx When I went to pick up my car I took some burnt cd`s with me to put into the unit. The lexus guy told me that I could possibly use 1 disc at a time in the player but if it did jam & the burnt cd`s were found in the unit that it would be costly for me to have Lexus repair & remove the offending cd`s as they were not the originals??? I don`t think its worth the risk. What would you do? Regards Alex ← Hi Alex, take your point but why should they be a different size, in my C.D. holder i have two burnt C.D's and four recorded, no problems as yet but your right it is a worry. Perhaps someone can confirm one way or the other, don't think i will risk six now. regards Baz. ←
  2. Hi, I've had the hybrid for a little over two weeks and love everythhing about it (see a previous posting). I went for the SE rather than the SEL, thinking the extras on the latter a little OTT. But now of course my teenage kids are very keen on the idea of putting their Playstation in the back for long journeys and DVDs. I think the headrest screens are too small, so am debating a flip-down roof-mounted central screen, probably 10-inches. Does anyone have any experience of these, perhaps in the RX300? To what extent should I be concerned about it affecting my rear-view vision? Thanks, Gustavo
  3. Hi Guys, Been reading for a while but this is my first post. Got my RX400 SE a week ago and absolutely love it. I've been on the waiting list for 13 months, and I must admit that I wobbled a bit in that time as to whether I'd eventually buy or not (the cost, the size of the car). But the posts here and in the US, and my test drive, convinced me of its worth. I used to have an IS200, so I obviously enjoy the new elevated driving position. It's also hard not to be won over by all the gadgets - simply the Bluetooth phone link is enough to send me to tech heaven (works perfectly with a Sony Ericsson P910 by the way), and the parking camera is truly useful. I also love the 'hidden' compartment in the boot for small shopping bits. I haven't been for a really throaty long drive in it yet, but already I love the power of the acceleration and the control (although yet to get an torque steer). And of course it feels like a great safe place for my family. But the Hybrid element was the thing that swung it for me - partly the fact that I'm saving fuel, partly the fact that it's so lovely and hushed when I pull away and stop at lights, and partly because it salves my conscience that I'm not an uncaring environmental soul. A few very minor caveats: I do get some wind turbulence with the roof open at 30-ish mph, and the breaks need some getting used to to avoid sudden judder. I still feel a bit awkward seeing the big thing outside my house, and have spent a fair bit of time telling neighbours and other friends about its electric elements in an attempt to avoid PC disapproval. Is it me being paranoid, or do people let me out less at junctions these days? I'm sure soon I'll soon relax and enjoy it for what it is - a wonderful piece of engineering and a joy to drive. And the best news is, my wife loves it, thank ***! Gustavo
