  1. Well some of you may remember me from a while back, I've been track daying the bike more and more.

Well another track day down, this one not as great as the other. A few wet sessions and if any of you've done Rockingham national you'll no how slippy it gets.

First time in fast group and didn't do too bad, only a few people quicker than me which was good, managed a 1.22 lap with 11 year old suspension (soon to be changed).

Any way enjoy at my miss fortune.

  2. My mate brought a new scoobie the other day. 2005 WRX STI type UK last of the 2.0 turbo'd ones in white, only 8,000 miles on the clock (hes very anal about mileage).

Went out in it the other day on some private roads naturally and its goes pretty nicely, hes put a pipe and BOV on it already and will be running 360hp in a few months with a remap and sports CAT, induction etc.

Heres a couple of videos for anyone wanting to know if there quick or not, feels quick but in reality not much quicker than my mates RX8

  3. I would avoid SPC

as far as I know they are no more

Wayne and Ike are the heads behind the turbo, and neither work for SPC not sure where they are at present but I am sure they will emerge soon

Really, whats happened, I was only up there a few weeks back, they had looooads of stuff in there getting work done.

  4. Nice to see you back dude, car sounds like its going to be good.

If I were you, I would contact SPC Horsham as they seem to have cracked most of the issues with the mapping of the 1G-FE engine, there running over 300hp on STANDARD engine. I believe that they have also cured the stalling/idling problem with the Lexus throttle body. As your far far away they might let you in on a few of there secrets and its worth a try.

Now I've been around a dyno cell for the past year I've realised the map in my car was very poor indeed, my EGT would get to over 900 degrees C when really going for it, a sure sign of poor map and massive over fuelling along with a few other problems.

Good luck with the car get us some pics soon

  5. No mate no thread over here about.

thanks for the Congrats though mate, on wards and upwards to the next feature now lol

    Hows your conversion coming along?

Slow dude, got no money as on apprentice wage, but hopefully that will be changing soon, have email SPC about some 264 cams, not dropping the compression ratio now aswell, if i need to run more boost at a later date i'll do it then. Still need to get the cage done aswell which is a massive budget constraint :S

It will get done, im just craving another motorbike, but will do my best to hold out this summer lol

    Grim mate,

Have you spoke to Asi who posted below you? as i think he has some cams/cam gears for sale for the 1jz?

No I havent, but i will do.

    Cheers

  7. As far as im aware steering rack is the big issue, also dont think the GE has oil squirter's on the pistons so only a certain boost can be had until temps rise to high.

Also what can the auto box on the IS300 handle ? Not sure on this one but one owner on here had an IS200 putting out a fair amount of power and his IS200 auto box didnt last very long.

Its a good option but if you want a real car (thats one with a manual gearbox LoL) then it gets complicated and expensive buying and fitting clutch pedals, cylinders etc etc

After all my years of spend stupid money on cars my best advise is, get the one with the right engine to start with then mod that if you have to, I've been so tempted to scrap my 1JZ project recently and just by a supra or soarer with 400-500hp and be done with it, but i feel thats lazy and will get mocked by all my mates, I will prevail (hopefully)lol

  8. Bit ****** off they didnt talk about the main part which costs sooo much the main carbon fibre mono and the carbon A pillars which are made by a seriously mental machine think theres only 2 in the world.

But typically a pretty poor (technically) review from the top gear crew, no wonder there thinking off axing in next year, would like to see what time it would have done in the dry though.

  9. Make it happen people, break the mould that X factor have had for god knows how many years and will do to come, make it abit different this year.

Can buy it from these site I believe (ive copied them from the backup face book group as the main one seems to have been deleted with over 1 million members) Seems a little dodge

  10. What was up with the 220d ??? Thought people liked them ?

I agree a brave man to jump into a Renault, next door neighbour gets constantly high service bills £700+ with his megane, it goes through discs and pads like no ones business, crap on fuel even though its a diesel my dads 2 ton Nissan Xtrial gets better mileage and the megane is now currently in for water damage to the interior as water was getting in to the rear compartment some how.

    Hope you have more luck

  11. Ok well thought I'd fill you guys in a little on what has/hasnt been happening.

Well buying the bike for the summer meant nout happened on the car, but now thats sold and winters here i'm getting back into it.

Bad news about bonnets and wings basically company said it was to much hassle/time/money to recopy them when they can get similar from abroad so that was a dead end.

On the plus side the turbo seems like it will be more than alright for the 1JZ, someone using a stock 1JZ is hitting 1.6 bar at 3500rpm roughly.

No news on engine mounts but might be making them at the place im working at, at the moment.

Going to be taking the head off checking pistons, valves etc, then getting a thicker headgasket to lower compression ratio to around 8:1 then putting back together with ARP head bolts.

Thats about it really, just thought I'd revive the thread which hasnt been touched for tooooooooooooo long.
