  1. Nicccceee !!!! Loving that Torque figure as well, good work
  2. Guys remember that before it became Brawn GP it was Honda and they had spent most of the 2008 season developing the car so you cant just say that Brawn GP spent hardly any money as the effort had already been put in, the only thing that honda needed to do was to get a good engine, Brawn was in the Honda team re doing the design team I believe so he knew the potential of the car. I think the budget cap will be good, not read up on it much but arent they doing the £40 million with no restrictions or no budget cap and have restrictions to abide by ??? Ferrari's top aero guy said that some team were spending well in excess of £400 million when I was at the world motorsport symposium last year, they had their car in the wind tunnel for 8000 hours running 24 hours a day. Im sure its more but if that cost £5000 a day thats £40 million already so the spending is totally out of control. The racing has improved this year no doubt, I think the KERS system has been a bit crap but it should develop. Ferrari have always been to big for there boots and them taking on the FIA basically there right hand man is going to stir up some shizzle. Always hated the Italian vehicles anyways so it'd be great if they left, im sure they'd be back in a season anyways what would they do with all that spare time LoL
  3. Ive always wondered why companies put them back there, im guessing its a space issue in the engine bay, but i have seen a BMW 5 series with a set up like this running stupid power bout 800hp IIRC. Not sure about lag the turbo's are always spinning though so im guessing the exhaust pipe and intercooler piping will always have some sort of pressure in them. In the video it seem pretty responsive.
  4. Dunno if this is a repost, the guys very annoying but the cars pretty sweet. The only thing that I would worry about is getting rear ended, poor turbo's would be fooked.
  5. I used Mazuma or what ever its called and got over about £200 for N95 N73 nd 2 other crappers
  6. I think all MSV sites make you wear one, they have them for hire at the track though
  7. All depends where you are. For track days you DONT need a race licence, for racing you do which costs around £250 and its called an ARDS test. MSV (motor sport vision) who own/run brands, Snett, Oulton, Cadwell, and bed ford http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/ They have a good amount of track days for cars and bikes, with novice days etc. All depends on where your based etc. Also all tracks will have a noise limit but depending on time of day/year will change from around 95db being lowest to 105-108 being loudest unless you get a unlimited day but this will be rare as most tracks are only allowed a set amount per year and usually all taken for racing. As long as your not toooooo crazy and take it easy you should be fine, most important things to have on first track day, good tyres and brakes.
  8. I got a good 12 month contract with the G1 but I was switching companies. Let us know how u get on with the Magic, i found a really cool app for racing the other day, uses googlemaps and the GPS to do lap time and splits etc on a race track.
  9. Isnt the magic the same as a G1 just the american version ? Over here i think the G1 is only available on T mobile i think. As far as i know it doenst have voice dialer but im sure they'll be an app for it, theres loads of voice apps out there for taking notes etc like a dictaphone. Im just impressed with the update which installed a video recorder, and the new virtual keyboard with spelling recognition
  10. Woke up the other day to a message saying update now or later so i clicked now. 5 mins later the whole phone had been updated to im guessing the newest firm ware or what ever they call it. Really nice menus etc, even got a video recorder on it now which I was massively suprised about. Only down side some of the app on it wont run but the developers are updating them to work with this new firm ware.
  11. Looks good Dave, who made the manifold, i'll be popping up to SPC next week sometime with the bike
  12. Well done guys, looks like the weather stayed on your side too. Is that Igo still complete stock ?
  13. Absolutely right, there are an awful lot of people with enough money to buy a very fast bike, but not very much experience. Those of us who have done a few miles in all weathers have a slightly different riding style. Yeah its crazy that people can go straight from a test centre on a GS500 or whatever they use and get a 180hp superbike. Even with my reasonable experience when I got on this it took me back a bit and it will take me a fair while to get used to. Had a nice blat home with my mate on his R6, naughty figures appear very rapidly so need to keep checks on my speed even more now :$
  14. yep and its normally the weekend "power rangers" and born again riders that passed the test and then jump on a bike that they have no idea on how to control and use safely. The amount of cocks i see over here in the mountains (alps, vosges, black forest etc) that fly around and treat the road like a private race track is unbelievable.... most cant handle the bike at all hence road in the black forest are closed to bikes on the weekend :tsktsk: Yep I agree the old weekend warriors and born again bikers seem to be the ones taking the hits. I've been riding since I was 16 (now nearly 23) so I've got a few years under my belt. It's got a Datatool alarm and alpha dot also got a disc lock as well but locked in garage over night unless im at the girlfriend. Opened it up a little earlier coming to college and it does go like a bat out of hell, big smile on my face right now.
  15. Have you ever been on one ? They float some peoples boat and not others but for under £3k theres nothing else that will get to 60 in under 3 seconds 100 in around 5 seconds and do 186 in 5th and just have 6th gear for fun LoL not that i'll find many of those stats out until i get to the isle of man :D
  16. Good stuff I'm thinking of going over for the TT, going up to see the MotoGP later in the year and also might be doing a track evening at brands in June so should be a good summer That Gixer's going to get used properly, then. If you're going over for TT2009, give me a shout, it'd be good to meet up. Will do, just managed to sort out some insurance, £238 third party fire and theft, couldnt afford the full comp as it was nearly £1000, dunno why theres such a massive jump in price, but o well off out to ride in the rain :( 6th gear all the way i think lol
  17. Good stuff I'm thinking of going over for the TT, going up to see the MotoGP later in the year and also might be doing a track evening at brands in June so should be a good summer
  18. They seem to be hard to find now as I think most are used as track toys but they are lovely, in the haynes manual i got with the bike it says this is only 4kg heavier than the 750 and only 8kg heavier than the 600 which is pretty insane.
  19. Well after having my scooter stolen on Tuesday my need for transport and a new bike was shoved forward, I've been looking for a bike for the summer for a while now but was thinking I would be getting it in a month or so but ***** happens and things change. Me and mate (doddy) who many of you know from JAE, set off at 5.30am this morning (after not much sleep) to Manchester to look at a bike (was pretty confident i was going to buy it). After 4 and a half hours we arrived tired and battered from the uncomfortable van we managed to borrow from his work thinking that it would fit in the back but knowing it would be close. Got there and it was in good nick, stone chips on nose cone but what can you do. Haggled the price down last week via emails so got nearly £400 off the asking price. Managed to some how fit it in the back of the van and strap down. Then jumped back in and drove another nearly 5 hours back arriving back home at 4pm this afternoon absolutely knackered running on energy drink fumes. Got bike out and warmed up to take for another little ride. To say its quick is the biggest understatement ever, first gear is almost off limits under half throttle at 3,000 rpm the front wheel goes skywards, second gears not much friendlier and didnt even get into third. First gear goes up to god knows what, probably around the 100mph mark maybe even more. I got off pumping with left over adrenaline from my nearly 12 hour days already, thinking my god thats addictive but also thinking my god im gonna kill myself on that thing. Going to take it for a longer ride tomro and see how it goes when I'm back feeling human. O yeah its got a Yoshi race pipe on it and sounds as naughty as a oriental in a school girls outfit, i'll try and get some vids or sound clips up later in the week. I'll be taking the bike to a shop soon (maybe SPC Horsham I'll ring tomro) to get it tuned slightly as its got a power commander on it and only a basic map so will be able to give exact power figures, but book states 160hp and 170kg dry weight equalling nearly 1000hp per ton. All I can say is summers here and I'll try and live through it LoL. Enjoy the photos.
  20. yea ..but one guy in clubaristo has fitted them and he did dyno run and claiming to get extra 37bhp . It will definitely help on forced induction car but for a N/A car you'd want it to open at higher rev's so that you dont affect the torque which is helped by back pressure in the exhaust system.
  21. Used to do a little bit of this when i was younger but nothing even close to what this chappy's doing, absolutely amazing Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  22. I drove up behind one of these the other day, waved as big as i could, pulled up along side it at the traffic lights as well, so i should be on it somewhere LoL The guy driving looked soooooo bored
  23. Wops ignore me then. Taxiiiii
  24. I think its probably a menu on the PS3, my mates got a ps3 and we took it from his which runs on the HDMI to a mates place and tried to get it to work on scart cable and couldnt get anything at all, so guessing you need to get into a menu on the ps3 and change it over. But again this is me guessing lol
  25. Looks good, what's it holding in its claws ?
