I had the same problem from new and it was finally traced to a faulty optical cable connecting the cd player to the amplifier at the back of the car.

I had that problem in my IS250 from new. After a lot of searching Lexus found the problem to be a faulty fibre optic cable between the device in the boot and the radio unit in the facia.

I had a similar problem and traced it finally to the windscreen pillar plastic cover which was rubbing against the winsdcreen at the bottom. Careful re-seating of the cover did the trick.

I used to have that high pitch sound in my Y reg IS200. I could never find the definite reason for it but came to the conclusion that it could be to do with the ABS which has parts located in front of the driver. I left it and got used to the noise as fixing it would be expensive. My 04 reg IS does not emit that sound.
