  1. Thank you Steve, just ordered some tyres with them, great recommendation!
  2. Michelin Latitude Tour HP's - you will not regret it. Great grip, superbly quiet and rated very well for efficiency and wet grip. I think they're perfect for your needs. They are also standard fit RX tyres in the states with a long tread life. They are also M+S marked so slightly better than summer tyres in those conditions - again, no need to actually swap them over in the winter. Gone with these, quite hard to come by, managed to get 4 through Camskill website, £475 inc Vat and postage... They get rave reviews online, thanks for the feedback, great help!
  3. Does anyone on here buy their tyres online? Is it risky, ie end up with out of date tyres or duff ones? If it is safe to do can anyone recommend a reputable websites?
  4. Yes Colin, I agree its subjective.... My winter tyres are a lot quieter than the potenza's but I have to say the car feels more wollowy to me on these, a little vague on cornering. Its a mine field and everyone seems to have their own opinions of what is good/bad
  5. Thanks for the reply What do you recommend? I looked at the Michelin Latitude Tour HP, but they are all out of stock for the next 8 weeks, then one of the tyre fitters said they don't wear well and I am better off sticking with the OEM ones.
  6. Hello all, I have a Lexus RX400h, I am about to buy 4 new tyres as my winters are finished now. I am going to go with the recommended tyres from Lexus, which are the Bridgestone Potenza RE031, however I have come across another type of RE031 which has the following written on them "AZ/1Z" has anyone heard of this? If so what is the difference between the AZ/1Z and normal ones? Also whereever I look they say the RE031 is for the RX330, which I guess is a US type of Lexus, does that mean its not for the RX400h? I was looking at all sorts of other makes of tyres, but I think I will stick with what the car came with as it seems to drive well on them... Thank you in advance... PS sorry got the title wrong its AZ/1Z

  8. Thanks for the reply, can I ask why up chose them over any others?
  9. Well it's that time of year where the winter tyres come off and new tyres go on, only thing is I threw away my old tyres and can't remember what make the standard tyres are?? I tow a caravan and do mainly motorway miles, never pass 70mph, and whilst I am a brisk/progressive driver I am not interested in blasting around any recommendations on tyres? Thanks in advance and sorry if this has been done before, I did search with little luck. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  10. Out of interest Rikardo do sensible noises from the dashboard annoy you as well as stupid ones? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  11. Firstly Lol at stupid noises from the dash, love it! I have had my RX for coming up to 6 years now and it is one huge wafty arm chair! Super smooth.... As previous comments state when stationary you feel the engine kick in as the car wobbles a little on the spot! Drivers side arm rest squeaks when I rest my arm on it, the dealer swapped it out saying and I quote "Lexus should not squeak sir", it cured it for a while now it's back and I am out of anti squeak warranty. There is a knocking/rattle that intermittently appears from just behind the dash, had loads of people look at it and it's impossible to find, but that could just be mine. My roller blind over the boot can sometimes make a squeaky noise. The left seatbelt unless positioned precisely seems to rattle against the door pillar. Despite all these minor annoyances it's still a cracking car! Not felt the need to change it and am close to 80k miles now! Enjoy Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  12. Nice break down Dan! Thanks for sharing.... Mine is similar except I get 32mpg, the first class comment is spot on! Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  13. That is a weird one indeed. Have you checked under the iPhone Bluetooth settings when it's actually connected to the car at the time?
  14. Thanks mate, I figured 8 to 10k Amazing I paid £39k for it in March 2007 Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  15. Hi I am thinking about selling my RX400h and getting an NX instead. I have looked on Autotrader and prices vary wildly. As you are all Lexus owners, how much are they worth these days? Mine is a late 2006 with 72k on the clock, all the bells and whistles, ICE, Satnav etc, great condition in Grey Any ideas very welcome? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  16. Thanks Colin when this next happens I will look more into it... So why do we need to jump start at all? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  17. Mine must be broken then and Lexus Reading don't know what they are talking about as I jumped started mine, got down the road and ended up stuck again, had to call the RAC. I was advised there is no link between the hybrid batteries and engine battery. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  18. Interesting idea.... Not tried it. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  19. Yes hence the optimate, I have laid in a tidy cable that I just plug in when I need to, I only use it if I know the car is going to be parked for over 10 days Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  20. You can, but the issue is that when you drive down the road and stop at a junction the engine goes off when you go into hybrid mode and you will need a jump start again. I think the only way is to trickle charge over a number of hours. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  21. I have am Alko tow hitch, keeps my caravan straight and true. I did not know that Lexus recommended against towing! Mine seems to sit quite nicely on the road. I also fit winter tyres to mine, in the snow its a dream.... When leaving work I watched many colleagues digging their cars out, whilst I just drove out. In terms of heating, when there is demand the engine runs until you have warm air, so no issue there. I fitted one of these to mine - http://www.optimate.co.uk I have only had it twice happen to me, but you can't jump start a Hybrid, well you can, but when you get down the road and the engine goes off you are stuck, so they have to be trickle charged. I find if I don't use the car for 14 - 21 days the car battery seems to die on me. I took it to lexus and they replaced the battery and its still the same. they said its due to my short journeys and then leaving it standing. So when on holidays I just hook up the optimate..... hope this helps, if I think of anything else I will share.
  22. Phew! Sounds like myself and my wife were lucky to both have models that worked then! I get my Apple stuff from Basingstoke as well! Nice store there....
  23. Oh another thing to add, I got a swan neck removable tow bar, which leaves very little space for the exhaust due to the frame that bolts under the car. Occasionally my exhaust knocks against it, thud thud thud when going round tight corners. I have had new rubber mounts fitted even had tighter mounts and it's been into Lexus, the can't stop it. Mine is a Witter Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  24. Hi I concur with other replies I have a 1500kg caravan, tows beautifully! Been towing for 3 years, 18mpg average. Took a bit of getting used to as the car glides along quietly normally with very little throttle input averaging 32mpg but when I tow, especially in hilly areas I have to put in big throttle presses and there is lots of engine growl with very little hybrid input so effectively you are driving 98% petrol.... 25. Mine still works fine Can't think why one would work and another doesn't What age is your car? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
