  1. Sorry to be dense but I've got an Ipod mini and just bought the Belkin adaptor so I can charge my Ipod in-car. What type of lead/cable do I need to connect the Ipod to the aux socket in the centre console so I can play it through the car speakers? Thanks a lot.
  2. Thanks for the advice everyone. Getting my car MOT'd tom at a local garage which is most convenient for me. To be fair I was never absolutely guaranteed the IS250 on 1 Mar so can't really expect the Lexus centre to foot the bill. On the subject of MOT's, you may know that Local Authority MOT centres offer a good service and shouldn't rip you off as most will do the MOT but don't do repairs so they don't have an incentive to fail you ! See this thread from the excellent moneysavingexpert site. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showth...p=3387#post3387
  3. I'm due to collect my new IS250SE on approx 10 March. My current IS200 is 3 yrs old on 4 March and so will be due an MOT. Do I risk being without an MOT for a few days or get one (despite the expense esp if the odd repair is required to pass) to be on the safe side. Would my pt-ex with Lexus on the IS200 be jeopardised without an MOT ? Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
  4. I'm having Supaguard done inside and out for 75 quid once I get my IS250 in early March.Advised it was a good product by a friend who works in a bodyshop. A guy who works as a car valeter for Volvo is doing it. So if you want it done, there are much cheaper ways to do it than via Lexus.
  5. As you no doubt are aware, when buying a new Lexus you automatically get 3 yrs full RAC cover for yourself and spouse in any car you drive. My 3 year period on my IS 200 will expire in early March and my IS 250 is due for delivery in late March when I'll get a fresh 3 yr period of cover. Thus I'd have a gap of a few weeks without cover. I phoned Lexus Roadside Assistance and they kindly agreed to give me a months complimentary cover to cover the period of a few weeks before the new cover begins. Thought I'd share this as it may help someone else in a similar position.
  6. Yes you MUST ask for at least the first service free of charge.More valuable than supaguard.I've been quoted £75 for supaguard inside and out from a guy who works during the day for a Volvo dealership. I'll get it done once i've got the car. A service is worth at least 150 quid. My Lexus dealer matched the drivethedeal price (£1100 off the list price) and although the pt ex figure wasn't amazing it wasn't terrible either.Got the first service free as well :D No other local dealer could match or beat the deal I was given. It pays to shop around.
  7. Caspian Sky for me.Wasn't sure until I saw it in the showroom's garage but I was sold from then on.Lovely bluey/grey. Wife was sure as well as soon as she saw it. Gone for Sussex leather interior. Surprised no-one else has mentioned this colour.
  8. By all means get a quote from Lexus re finance on a PCP but I've found after buying two IS200's an a PCP and ordering an IS250 for March this year that they can be significantly undercut. I've used Yorkshire Bank's Asset Finance Dept on each occasion and they've been signif cheaper than Lexus when I've confirmed the interest rate quoted by Lexus. So you should definitely shop around for a finance deal with a few banks to get the cheapest interest rate (the APR is the key)although make sure the balloon payment isn't too high.
  9. If possible could I have opinions on the following, Some time ago I ordered an IS 250 SE Auto with sunroof and metallic paint from my local Lexus centre.Order was for March 1st. Just been in to negotiate on a part ex for my IS 200 SE Auto with sunroof and rear spoiler in metallic gold with 21,400 miles on clock and in v good condition. '03 plate. The book price is £12,500 for a part ex but they only offered me £11K ! Said they weren't selling well second hand so they couldn't offer near book price and by March 1st book price could be signif lower anyway. I mentioned drivethedeal price for IS 250 which is £26574 compared to list price of £27,710. I said I felt pt ex of at least 12K was fair and £500 off list price of IS 250 so cost to change would be £15200.Also mentioned one free service and supaguard treatment being thrown in as I bought my prev two IS 200's from them. Best they can do is match drivethedeal price of £26574 on IS 250 but stay at £11K on trade in so cost to change is £15574.They will also do a free service OR free supaguard but not both. Any opinions gratefully received. Is this a decent deal in your opinion ? I've told them I'd go away and consider and approach other local Lexus centres to compare.I'd rather do the deal with the current Lexus centre if poss but obviously want the best deal available. Thanks.
  10. Just ordered an IS250 SE Auto for March. Enquired with dealer re cost of factory fitted parking sensor cos I keep scraping my bumpers on my IS200 !! Anyone any idea of approx cost as Lexus Manchester don't know at present ? Thanks.
  11. I'm proud to say I test drove that very same IS 250 at about 1.15 today at Lexus Manchester and superb it was too. Sooooo quiet and smooth even compared with my IS 200. Put in an order for March 1st delivery of SE Auto with sunroof. Just need to decide on the colour now !!
  12. Mr Mole, can i just clarify that the IS 220d WON'T be available with Auto transmission. It's a shame cos i've had two IS200 SE Autos and i couldn't go back to a manual.
