  1. Here goes http://www.carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalLexusRX330Str.htm Tony
  2. Thanks Williz. I see some logic in the later part of your note. I will delete the pairing and try sending the phone book like a simple phone to PDA BT connection rather than a handsfree connection. Will let you know how I get along. Thanks. Tony
  3. Thanks, Jbanfie. The problem I have is that that the car/phone do not "find" each other in transfer mode ..... hence the whole process gets frustrating. Have tried 10-20 times ! Normal BT connection is no problem for voice. I will give it another few goes otherwise do it with my Nokia, one by one ... Thanks fopr your help. Tony
  4. Has anyone been able to transfer their phone book from a SE K800i ? If yes, it would be helpful if someone can describe the process briefly. I am familiar with the process of sending info from Nokias but the K800 just does not link up in transfer mode. Otherwise pairing is just fine, from a mobile phone point of view. Thanks Tony
  5. Jasonco Veering from the topic - how much did the 300 to 350 upgrade cost you ? Thanks Tony A considerable wad as they say! I managed to get ~18k (this was what glaces pitched it at..) for my 300 SE-L with 31,000 on the clock along with ~£3k off the list price (what car target price of the 350 SE-L). It works out at ~6k per year depreciation. Also as mentioned they have swapped out the wood and included boot liner, bumper protector. I know the sensible thing to do was to keep my old one but there is something very nice about a new car :-) Glad you are happy with the swap. Good to stay with a 4*4 ! I guess, the bigger they are the more harder they fall. How does the gearbox feel on the new one - any surging etc ?

  7. I have found that things started deteriorating after around 350 miles of the upgrade, as has happened with me. At the begining it looked like a vast improvement - on the surge/hesitancy front and mpg. I would be interested to know how your RX behaves after around that sort of mileage. Tony
  8. Hi Jroph, Yes, there are strong grounds for court action. One would tike to think that a major international corporation whose motto is 'Pursuit of Perfection' may actually have some small understanding of customer relations! Perhaps they will come to their senses and sdort this out with us and all the others with the same issue before we go that far. I see on the USA Forum that you guys have the same issues over rhere even though Lexus GB tell me that the fix is a great success in the States............maybe thats all just hogwash too! Maybe you can make a post on the state forum telling them to look at the UK one and read this thread. I tried but for some reason I was blocked from doing so - not sure why or by whom but I was blocked form posting on the forum there. Best regards. Michael Hi Michael Wondering how you are getting along. You have started a movement (!) and I for one want to see and support how your efforts bear fruit. Thanks. Tony
  9. Interesting you should say that, Michael. I have mixed feelings about the situation too. However I am going to give it another week or two (as my representative miles are not as high as yours) before passing verdict. Tony Hi Tony. any update on yours? Am now worried that ours will start to slide towards Michael's. Michael, I wonder if your box was reset again would it return to its more positive state before it started to learn? If that was the case I wonder if there is a way to disable the learning aspect as I have yet to find/hear of any benefits of the learning, if anything it appears to make things worse rather than better. An explanation from Lexus as to why the learning element is there would be good. br Damian Hi Damian I have mixed feelings about the change and would say that there is an improvement with pro's and cons. To summarise my response 1. some of the low end surging/lurching has gone 2. I find that the responsiveness has been reduced, especially there are two points were the gear is not as responsive as it should be 3. have thought as to whether it would be better to revert to old software - but for the moment I am going to give it a go. I have just done over 10.5 k and find that the situation is improving as the engine is "opening" up 4. mileage has improved on the motorway driving (24-25 mpg) whilst dropped on urban (16-17 mpg) 5. to counter some of the problems above, I have moved back to a higher octance fuel (say 97 RON) which helps with further eliminating the surging problem and improve mpg. Fuel that I am finding most helpful is Shell Optimax or Sainsbury Super. I would strongly suggest you try this out for say 2-4 tank fulls before passing judgement. BP and tesco's equivalents somehow do not tickle. Hope the above is useful Tony
  10. It is showing Mute On and I cannot hear anything. I can change it by touching it to Mute Off, but still cannot hear anything. Next time I dial out, it still reverts to Mute On and nothing can be heard. I'm sure, or at least I hope, that this is going to be a 'DOH' when I find out. I will try someone elses bluetooth today to see if it works with that 'Mute on' is normal status. It doesn't mean that the mute is on but it means that if you press it you will turn the mute on. As for N80, I'm not aware of any issues. I can ask though. If you press *#0000# what does the phone show on its display? br D To my knowledge Mute On (when pressed to then show Mute off) means the other party cannot hear you talking in the car, whilst you can hear the other party. It is not a call holding facility. I would suggest you try another phone, if you have one to hand. If it does not work with that, off to the dealer I am afraid .... Tony
  11. I would suggest you delete your existing pairing and re-establish a new one - could be just a quirk ..... Tony
  12. Micheal Sorry - I am towards the Eastern Hampshire border serviced by Guildford. Tony
  13. Interesting you should say that, Michael. I have mixed feelings about the situation too. However I am going to give it another week or two (as my representative miles are not as high as yours) before passing verdict. Tony
  14. thanks chips. i think you are right as the idle speed is perfect when warm, only 600rpm With regard to the air intake, how do i get no air in at all, have switched ac and auto off but fresh air still come thru the vents and at 70 mph it can be a cool breeze thanks Turn off the climate control and switch on the internal recirculation switch. That should stop the air flow. Tony
  15. Hi Sendz, hmmmmmm you are correct about tread pattern on edge of tyres ,dont know about running increased tyre pressures .I will be talking to Lexus Bristol tomorrow regarding tyre wear and all the various issues that I have with our RX ,as I have had the geomentry check it will be yet another fight with Lexus.Just to let you guys know what is not right with my used out of the box Rx to date and to be sorted 1 bag of of nails under dash 2 drivers seat memory settings not repeating 3 un even tyre wear 4 section of rear screen heater not working. 5 drivers seat rattle/knock when breaking. 6 poor cold starting 7 rear boot cover rattle cheers Swager Swager How did you get along with the dealer on the tyre issue ? Tony Hi Tony, not to good,I had to replace front tyres before I got the car in for the various faults I have. comments from dealership are as follows 1 between 10k-15k is average for this type of car and Lexus will only warrenty 10k on tyres or one year.rear tyres ok -super track comments were that rear were showing signs of feathering on outer edges. 2 electric memory on seats will not repeat over a period of time because of the type of motor /wire used 3 bag of nails still under dash. 4 rear screen heater not covered under warrenty as some sort of chemical has been used to clean the screen and damaged part of the heating elements.(i dont clean the car, Lexus Bristol wash it every two weeks) 5 cold starting ok so I am one unhappy Lexus owner and to top it all I was offered 20500k in px for a IS250 eight months after paying top book of some 29500k .ut very much looks like its time for a move after having to fight to get the brakes sorted and having to have a new rear diff and drive shafts fitted. going away to kick the cat now cheers swager Swager Sorry to hear that you have not had much joy - I have a showdown coming up soon with my dealer on the tyres issue - 8.5 k and both fronts have hardly any thread on the outsides, despite 2 full track checks by the dealer. Thanks for sharing your results. Tony
