  1. Thanks Koshime, I was wondering if Lexus UK were supplying their favourite dealers first. Perhaps the Mole would know more about that side of things. It's just so annoying when cars ordered after mine get delivered long before I even have a delivery date. I'm not blaming the dealer yet, but Lexus' customer service department will be off my Christmas card list soon unless things improve rapidly. Oldun
  2. Hi Koshime, Great news eh! bet you cannot wait. What model IS250 did you order and has it any extras? I would be interested to know when you placed your order to see just how long you have waited. I'm begining to turn a deathly shade of green, so good luck and let us know your first impressions. Oldun
  3. The SE and SE-L models have different size wheels front and back, so the alternative to a space saver would be two spare wheels? If they gave you say a (narrower) front wheel as a spare it would be illegal to fit it on the rear if you had a puncture and vice versa of course. The space saver wheel is a restriced use wheel designed to get your car to a garage and is perfectly legal when driven within its limits. You could of course buy the base model IS250 which has the same size 16" wheels all round (which unfortuneately also comes with the space saver) and buy a spare 16" wheel to use as a spare. Unfortunately, having wider rear tyres is a fad which sells cars but has its drawbacks as you mention. Oldun :duh:
  4. I ordered a Lexus IS 250 SE-L on the 19th August, hoping for delivery on launch day the 19th November. A few weeks ago I was told to expect delivery in mid December. Today this has now moved to late December, still no definate delivery date which is getting to be very annoying. Living in a remote part of the UK means a visit to the dealer involves a long ferry trip costing hundreds of pounds and means 3 days away at least. All I ask from Lexus is a firm delivery date so I can book the ferry and hotels and make definate plans, particularly over the Christmas/ new year periods. Is anyone else having problems with delivery dates for the new IS 250? I feel very let down by Lexus and their customer service, not a good start to becoming a (hopefully) satisfied Lexus owner. Sorry for ranting on, just ****** of with them at the moment. Oldun
  5. I also ordered my IS250 in September, hoping for a delivery on 19th November. In fairness the dealer did not mention a delivery date, but last week he sent a message saying to expect delivery in the middle of December. Very inconvient but hopfully a good Christmas present to myself.
  6. Sorry to disagree with you, but not everyone wants 18" wheels. If you want sporty 18" then buy the 250 Sport, the SE-L has 17" wheels to add to the luxury and ride comfort of that model. As for the folk moaning about the spacesaver spare wheel, what do you expect when the front and rear tyres are different widths? I supose you could carry 2 spare wheels, or cheaper still just buy the base model 250. Oldun
  7. Congratulations Sandeep and Mrs Sandeep, just one question though. Why was the title of your message "New baby boy"? I always thought all babies were NEW, Did you expect him to arrive wearing school uniform and carrying his satchel? Cheers Oldun
  8. I have seen the estimated price list from Lexus for the new IS, and ordered a new IS250 based on these. What is starting to annoy me is that Lexus have not yet been able to say what the final price will be. Hell, it's less than 7 weeks to the launch date and still no idea of how much I will have to pay. Does anyone know when they intend to reveal the final prices? Oldun
  9. Sounds like an awesome car you're gonna have there!!!! :winky: Although, have you opted for the 18" alloys or stuck with the 17s? Does anyone know what the 17s look like anyway ← I believe the 18" wheels are for the sport model only. There was no option regarding which size wheels you could get. It would be worth talking to the dealer if anyone really wanted an SE-L with 18" wheels. Personally I am happy to be getting the 17" wheels. When the final Lexus IS250 brochure arrives, hopefully a lot of peoples questions about what exactly can be ordered with what will be revealed. Oldun
  10. :D Thanks for that Parthiban, as it would be stupid to get a phone that was not compatible. By the way, I ordered the IS250 SE-L in Argento Ice (silver) with black leather so hope it looks good in the flesh. Also ordered automatic (getting old), adaptive cruise and the multimedia pack. The only box I did not tick was for the sunroof, had one once and never used it. Seems a waste when you have climate control. Cheers Oldun
  11. I have not been given a delivery date yet, but hope it is before the end of the year. I am really looking forward to it, all those toys to play with.
  12. Hi Everybody, I have an IS250 SE-L with the multimedia pack on order and have decided to get a bluetooth mobile phone as well. Are there any bluetooth phones which are recommended for the Lexus? I wondered if any makes or models work better or can I just buy any one I fancy? I'm new to this club, so any help is appreciated, thanks. Oldun
