  1. I love that first picture!! Did you polish it first? What were the preparations before applying the P21S?
  2. I don't use chamois or MF towels to dry my Wifes Black car. I use my shop vac.I put the hose on the exhaust side so it blows the water off without adding more scratches to the paint. If you already own a shop vac its free! To wash I use a 100% Austrian wool wash mitt. It tends to hold any dirt the shampoo lifts from the paint and holds it until it is rinsed away in the rinse bucket. I use two buckets for washing. One with the shampoo and a second filled with plain water. I use the plain water to rinse the mitt after I have washed a section of the car. This way any dirt gets released into the rinse water and cant be picked up when you grab more shampoo. Black just is a hard color to keep scratch free.
  3. I park WAY......away from the front parking spots. If it takes me 20-30 seconds to walk that distance, I don't mind. They do make a door edge guard(in black, and other colors) that sticks out from the door a little bit, which might help.
  4. I like using a natural sheepskin wash mitt. It removes the dirt and bugs better then a sponge. Plus it holds the dirt in the nap so it doesn't scratch the paint. http://www.decocarcare.com/howtowashhtml.html
  5. I changed my mind and took the extra discount changing to the SFX kit. Jon advised that the difference in the pads was not too great so I thought "why not". You can of course buy the DAS pads or kit seperately and Autopia have a franchise in the UK where you can also buy the Porter machine complete with transformer etc. Here is the link: http://www.thepolishingcompany.com/foryourcar.html ← That company sure is dear compared to ordering it in yourself. Got mine delivered within 6 days that includes a weekend. Very pleased with the quick delivery will be using them again in the future. Sonus SFX Polisher Kit SON-SFXPOL-KIT 1 199.95 Subtotal 199.95 Coupon discount (sfx) -39.99 Subtotal 159.96 Shipping 47.00 Tax 0.00 Total $206.96 ← Wow thats how fast I get to the east coast in the states!! Did it come from San Diego CA or the polish company in the UK?
  6. Everyone who wants one please email me so I can give you the discount code for the group buy. Thank You to all who partisipated in this!!!! My email is jonw440@charter.net
  7. I have talked to folks with Ferrari's Porsches, Bentleys, all the way to 1986 Buick. I really dont think the car make matters, It's the people who own them. but I think, Porsche and Corvette owners out number the rest.
  8. Thank You for the kind words Kent! At Autopia we do really care about our customers and will always strive to make each and every order like our first!! Thanks again, Jon
  9. The differance is the pads. The DAS pad kit is a great " starter" kit.The pads are soft and flexable. They are really useful on cars with cuirves. The SFX kit pads are a bit more firm.
  10. Here are a few pictures showing what the proper tools and products can achieve. The Porter Cable 7424 SFX and DAS pads. All three Sonus SFX polishes. This Black Durango was scratched on purpose to see how the SFX polishes work.(Yes its my Wifes Black Dodge Durango and NO she doesn't know I scratched it with a plastic pool brush she would KILL me :D ) I used the SFX Yellow pad with the SFX-1 Restore polish, the Green DAS pad with SFX-2 Enhance Polish and the Blue DAS pad with the SFX-3 final finish polish. Enjoy! These two pictures are from her Black Grand Prix she owned before the Black Durango...She Loves black vehicels.
  11. Did someone delete the thread about the group buy on the PC 7424? It comes straight from Autopia. Which is a sponsor of Lexus-owners club. Anybody Know?
  12. Great! Thats 5 PC with DAS pad kits! Half way to 10!!!
  13. To use the PC 7424 in the UK you will need the following. A] 110 volt transformer B] 110 volt extension lead - the length will depend on the distance you need to cover. 14 metres is standard but longer leads are available or you can use two 14 metre cables C] A 110 volt accessories plug You can order these times from www.screwfix.com and they will cost you about £65 in total. Alternatively you can pop along to your local builder's merchant and get the same items for a similar amount. Just tell the guy you're running a 110 volt power tool and he'll know the rest. I don't know if Jewson or Travis Perkins are in your neck of the woods but they will stock them.
  14. Global Priority Mail Most ppl get it in 3 days Shipping would be around $54.00 US, The weight once its packaged is about 11 lbs or 22Kg.
  15. Shipping would be extra. I do know when we send packages to the U.K. we place a very very reasonable value amount so you wont have to pay high duty taxes.
  16. Thanks Matt! I should have introduced myself....... Thanks for taking care of it for me.
  17. Thanks Guys!! Now only 8 more. If we get the 8 pretty quick, should we continue to 15?
