  1. My Qtek 8310 works more or less fine, sound quality on the handsfree is a lot worse than with a friends Siemens S65 but I need the Qtek because of my job. Only problem is, I always loose the first few seconds of each conversation, dialing out, as the the handfree kit kicks in with a 2-3 seconds delay, after the other side picks up. So the other side is going "hello, hello, hello" for a few seconds and I find myself always having to explain I didn't get their name etc. etc., which tends to be quite annoying in business calls, especially if you have call up the same number 10 times a day for weeks in a row and sort of make a fool out of yourself every time. This means also that you don't get any ring or busy tone on the handsfree kit. It only kicks in "by surprise" when the other side picks up (or doesn't, if the lline is busy, and leaves you wondering why nothing happens). So I have to keep glancing at my phoen all of the time. Talk of a security bonus! In all, the handsfree kit is absolute crap, a lot worse than the old kit in my last BMW, which dated from 2000. It really leaves my wondering if Lexus / Toyota engineers don't use handsfree kits, and though don't realize what :tsktsk: they installed. Dan
  2. Couldn't tell you. You'd have to check out with vaistech. Dan
  3. Check out the Vaistech adaptor at http://www.vaistech.com/sli.html I installed it last weekend on my euroean RX400 and it works absolutly fine. Only down point being that the head unit only displays the 12 first characters of the title or tracklist name, and the next 12 if you press and hold the "text"-button, no autoscroll. But the rest works fine. Installation is really easy, count around 30 minutes working really slowly. Price is around 300 US$ without shipping.
  4. Hi Patrice! Thanks for that! I fiddled around a bit with the quality setting (the last one you mention), without noticing any difference in sound quality, no matter which setting I chose. Anyone out there knows the meaning of this setting, and what the best set-up is? Dan
  5. Easy done: - Push the "Display" button - On the new overlay screen that appears, there are 2 bars, on the upper and lower edges of the current screen. - What you now need to do is push alternativly three times in the upper left part then lower left part of the screen, but staying outside the 2 bars. (e.g. upper left, lower left, upper left, lower left, upper left, lower left) - A service menu should appear, with a "Menu" button in the upper right corner. Push that one too. - Now choose the last menu point on the new screen to get to the bluetooth settings. Cheers, Dan
  6. I use a Qtek 9100. The phone works fine, dialing, takin' on calls etc. I found a compatibility list from Lexus that was posted on some forum and the QTEK appeared and was said to work. Except that the sound quality (incoming an outgoing) is crap. Sounds like I was standing 10m away from the microphone. So my guess it's not the phone but the handsfree installation. And of course the f... lockup of phone and navigation as soon as the car starts moving. Drives me nuts :tsktsk: Could you perhaps check out to which settings your bluetooth kit is set and post them (see PhoneDrome's post above). I've been playing around with different settings, without much result.
  7. Well I guess I'll try to accees that menu and play around a bit. I don't think it's the phone causing the problems, but still I'll get a friends phone and try that one out too. Cheers, Dan
  8. I just got my car and managed pairing my phone to the bluetooth handsfree kit. I don't know if it's just my car, but the sound quality is bloody awful, I can hardly hear the people I call, and my voice comes through as if I was standing in an airport with engine noise all around me, barely understandable. Anyone else experiencing these problems? Dan
  9. Hi Gazman! I believe I read a post somewhere about how to switch off the seat belt buzzer, had something to do with pressing the ODO button, turning the key ... don't recall all the steps and of course I don't find the post right now. But then again, who knows if that one works on the :tsktsk: european models, or has been removed for obscure reasons, as has the autolock feature. Dan
  10. Never heard about that one, how do you get into the maintenance menu? Dan
  11. Come on guys! You're not going to tell me that I'm the only one who tried those tricks? :winky: Help me out on this one please.
  12. Does anyone know if european models are different from the US ones? I just tried out the "wire-cutting-trick" to get rid of the phone block while driving but it didn't work. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...ndpost&p=164149 Also the Navigation override doesn't work on my car. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showpost.p...512&postcount=1 Any ideas? Dan
  13. Fascinating ! If this is for an iPod, please let us know how you get on !! ← It is for an Ipod. I will keep you informed as soon as I get it installed. Regards, Dan
  14. Can anyone post instructions or a link on how to remove the headunit from the dash of my RX400 so that I can install the vaistech adaptor ? Thanks! Dan
  15. Still waiting for an answer for an RX400... Come on guys, anyone outthere, jsut stick a CD with CD-text information into your headunit and let me know. Thanks! Dan
