  1. off the theme a little but same thing happened to me (car stolen just after 1 year missing out on new replacement vehicle) moved my insurance to saga which provided full replacement cover for first 2 years. Cost £40 more but worth it during the 2nd year of ownership.
  2. @bobby, Dealer told me they could remap gearbox and would cure lurching. When they attempted to do this it effectively blew up the ECU and the car was immobilised for 3 days. When back on the road the gear box appeared strangled but slightly smoother ( progress was slower ) Am moving back to BMW saloon (which is where I was before the Lexus) this time its an Alpina D3
  3. Have had an RX300se nav for 18 months, experience not good to start with, but dealership responded with excellent service thereafter. Main issue is cost of fuel, around town, the proverbial 18-19mpg and at best on a run 25mpg. With a lot of my journeys around town working out expensive, plus Gordon Brown's contribution yesterday, a sign of things to come. Will no doubt only appreciate all the toys once its gone. (issues, 4 new alloys, broken adaptive headlight sensor, completely destroyed ECU, and a lurching gearbox. All items fixed without any quibble by local dealer who always offered a replacement car whilst off road. Worrying reliability though for car less than 2 years old.)
  4. Now informed be 3 weeks before further supplies of cylinders will be available.
  5. Get exactly same problem with my Samsung D900. Had a Samsung SGH Z130 before which always wanted confirmation to connect to hands free, but did not produce the rasberry like the D900
  6. Just recd voice mail from my dealer, car due in tomorrow 8am, having been booked in 10 days ago, Lexus have run out of master cylinders! Good job I dont work to the same exacting standards (finance industry) dear Mr. Customer dont call tomorrow we've run out of money.
  7. I dont think you'll find the experience with BMW any different after 2 years of buying new vehicle, the price they'll offer you will be somewhat different to Parkers with many reasons why. All they want to do is make a large turn on each vehicle, I've been there, even with popular saloon models.
  8. my mistake, thought I had clicked on Lexus RX300/400h section!
  9. Dont know which model you're getting, wife has new Golf GTi 200bhp which also states needs to be run on Super Unleaded, Sainbury's Meadowhall cheapest Super unleaded in our area only 2p litre more than premium
  10. You're right dipstick, and financially it may be a non starter anyway, but the most frustrating aspect of my purchase was whilst I was more than happy with a BMW, I was a little tired of the dealers lofty attitude hence a move to Lexus. However I dont know how more "lofty" you can be than to completely ignore a customer's concerns, both verbal, and especially in writing.!!
  11. I'm afraid the service gets worse at Lexus Sheffield, called at dealership and raised my concerns so they could be passed to the dealership director, guess what ?, no response, decided to address my concerns in a letter personally addressed to dealership director, and guess what ? no response. This is the worse car buying experience I can remember. Am off to dealership review section to place my thoughts and stars , shouldn't take long. Looks like I'll be back with BMW sooner than I thought
  12. Thanks for the reminder Fergy, am giving dealership few more days to respond further, if at all, after which I will append my review in the dealers review section (have no fear)
  13. Have spoke to dealership, car was pre registered to Lexus UK, I collected car with 17 miles on, therfore 2nd hand car sale, no frills for 2nd hand cars, and only quarter tank of petrol. Strikes me as a cracking way to hack a £34k customer off! Know where I wont be taking my hard earned in future.
  14. Sold BMW 325, looked at X5, got tired of lofty attitude of BMW dealers. Bought RX300 SE with nav in hope that service would be the difference. Purchasing very similar to any other dealer( have bought 7 new cars in last 10 years and recent experience would not rank in top 3, VWs BMWs Toyatas) The difference when picking up a new car is the small items, after all, you always end up with the car anyway. Sounds churlish but this was the only new car purchase in last 10 years where bottle of wine , toys for kids, flowers for wife were absent, insurance certificate lost, handbook with out of date phone no.s car registration with wrong date of purchase, and whilst small issue, less than half tank of petrol. sounds trivial, but my immediate journey after picking up car was to Derby and back to pick up parents, hadn't even enough petrol in car for first journey, therefore in a week when everyone was queuing for petrol my first Lexus experience was to queue up at pumps to put enough in for 1st journey. Seem to have great car but dissapointed with the service, which is where I came in I think. Hoping my experience will improve during ownership or will be back with BMW . Has any one else had this experience, doesnt seem so according to posts I've seen.
