  1. Hi before changing the hub did the mechanic put a run out dial on it this will tell you if it is warped
  2. Hi if your matrix is blocked then rad flush rarely works and the only option is to replace the matrix
  3. If you connect a diagnostic machine to the car and hold the revs till it stops watch the fuel pressure see if this remains the same till the engine dies this will narrow it down to ignition or fuel related
  4. When it cuts out does it misfire or then stop or just cuts out and die
  5. You need to have the engine running to check the oil and 2 litres will not be enough to refill after the sump has been drained and removed
  6. Hi if you only remove the sump and clean the filter only put 3 litres back in then run up the car then go through the gears then check the oil level with the engine running in park do not put 5 litres back in as this could overfill the gearbox
  7. The drain plug is in the sump and you have to fill by the dipstick it's the only way to do it
  8. You need to plug into diagnostic machine then they can read the live data and then maybe you will have a better idea of what's causing the problem
  9. The filter is in the gearbox sump which will have to be removed to clean the filter simple job and if you are not going to flush the system then 5 litres will do but you will need more if you flush the system .

  12. Hi if everything looks ok check steering rack mounts and the steering rack

I can see why a garage did not want to take it on to much to strip down and any small part that gets broken you will have to replace the whole headlamp and they could be responsible all for a £50 job I had my own garage for 30 years and learnt to let these type of jobs go ok if you want to have a go yourself

Hi I've been in the trade forty years and never heard of anyone having as much trouble as you have had with your car. maintenance is the key to any cars longevity .The trouble often comes when owners just don't bother to look after them when they are so reliable then when they start going wrong they sell them and some poor sod gets all the problems

  16. Hi well I started this thread so a little more I still have my jag and it is a fantastic car but when I get back in the old Lexus it just feels like the car I feel at home in almost attached (personal preference ) and my wife loves it and if she's happy everyone's happy
