  1. I pipe my mp3 player through an adapter into the tape slot. not as good as a dension I know - but then this is on a lease and I don't know if I'll keep it!
  2. The new edition IS200 has a DVD based sat nav - with control by the gearstick. The old sat nav was CD based, and touch screen. The new sat nav is the same system as in the SC430! (and I really, really love it:D)
  3. sorry Steve - I am one of them - as I explained in my U2U - signed up, credit card in hand - only to be told I had to do payment transfer. been mad busy - will sort out this week - promise!
  4. Bit off-topic - sorry! One of the guys I am working with has kerbed his Mille Miglia wheels - one of them quite badly. His model (Ravia 5) are no longer manufactured - so he is struggling to get a replacement. link to wheels I volunteered to post here - to see if anybody knows of; a - a source for Mille Miglia Ravia 5 wheels in the UK (unlikely) or b - if anybody can recommend a decent refurbishment company who can put a high quality, chrome finish on his existing wheels? His car is a Alpha GTV - hence, this is a bit off topic - but I'm hoping someone here can help out!
  5. not complaining really Matt (well - not too much) - just that the roads by us a in a $hit state, so the banging can be really annoying. I was really wondering if anybody had a cunning plan to avoid it (other than take all the other keys off)
  6. had a courtesy car for a while (a new mondeo), and so had 'my' keyring with housekey etc on it + the caourtesy car one. I was completely paranoid - always checking that I had both sets of keys etc.
  7. Does anybody else find that their keyring bangs against the dash board on bumpy roads? I haven't a huge 'bunch' - just the oval IS200 keyring, house key, and a security tab (£10 reward for returning lost keys) Anybody utilise a 'cunning plan' of some description to stop it?
  8. never said that bit was fun:( but (*** forbid) should anything go wrong - who have done it "by the book" How do think I felt? Got mine new when I was on a contract that was a ten mile daily commute - do you know how long it took me to do those 1200 miles? THEN - with 1700 miles on the clock, some silly old girl crashes into me and writes it off!
  9. The fly by wire throttle will only deliver a percentage of the power initially - I believe I was told it was 80% until you have done over 2000 miles, then goes up to 95% - don't get the full monty until you have done over 6000 miles Re ; running the car in - in my experience, do what the book says for the first 1200 miles - keep it between 2 and 4 revs. After that, drive it hard - not only is it fun - but I have found it really helps the engine and gearbox loosen up. Warm it up - then get it to the red line in as many gears as you (safely and reasonably) can. I found my engine revved much more freely after a few good blasts :D:D:D:D:D
  10. Nope - checked that before - 36psi as per the book! on such a new car? FOUR shredded wheat! didn't read that page of the manual!;)
  11. My steering seems very 'heavy' - the car sometimes legitimately needs two hands to steer it. It is a new model IS200 SE - with around 2500 miles on it. Any ideas what it could be, to save me a trip to the dealer? I am not much of a gearhead - I have checked that there is plenty of power steering fluid -that doesn't seem to be the problem.
  12. One day I will bore every silly with my tale of a three month fight with Tesco (MY insurance company) over there attempt to put £11000 worth of repairs on my brand new (7 week old) IS 200. This was for a claim that was not my fault - responsibility was sorted within a week. Tesco- cheap? YES *****? YES use them again? NO CHANCE
