  1. I got that to start, and it increased as the engine bedded in. It also went up when I had the roof bars on - they must improve the aerodynamics. I also do a lot of motorway driving. Over the whole of last year, I got (according to the computer) an average of 23.8, average speed of 48mph. YTD 2002 I have an average of 21.6 and an average speed of 42mph. I changed the tyres from the Toyo's at about 40k for some chunky Wranglers, and they have pushed up the consumption. The worst I had was 11.9 in London!!!! 19 months and 55k miles and it still runs sweet!!!
  2. .......I do 38,000 miles p.a. in mine, and now the tyres have been changed to Goodyear Wranglers (cool white writing!) the computer tells me I have averaged 21 mpg. Good job the company picks up the tab!!!!
  3. :o:o I'm off to France next week on business, and I needed to get some headlight beam converters for the RX. Spoke to the dealer where I get my servicing done (Coventry) and they told me they were in stock, cost £4.95 +VAT. They also mentioned that they would fit them for me, as they needed to place them correctly. Having looked at the lights, there are no indicators where to fix them to block the beam. In the old days, you could work out where they had to go from the markings on the lenses. So......I agreed to them being fitted And what did I get........ a bill for £40 for parts & labour:o Oh well.......at least the company is paying! I am going to draw round them in permanent marker to save the charges next time. I can photograph them and post the picture if anyone wants to see the positioning............
  4. ...now that depends on a) What you are selling and B) How high up the tree you are!!!!! ;)
  5. Well thank the lord for that. There is life out there after all, even though (with the exception of Administrator) you are all photocopier salesmen!!! Yes, it is faster that an IS, and yes the fuel consumption is awful. On a long motorway run I get 22-24, around town 17-18. If I drive it hard, about 11 mpg. The cornering is OK, as when you push it really hard the electronics kick in and start slowing down wheel speeds etc. The best thing is the look on the wife's face when the traction control alarm comes on while going round a corner. LOL. Javadude - aerodynamics must be important to you when you only have 2 litres under the bonnet. ;) :P [Edited on 17-4-2002 by SalesGuy]
  6. Judging by the lack of posts in this forum, no-one else has a RX300! All the other members of Team Lexus must be photocopier engineers driving IS200's. Shame. Anyone taken their RX off-road? Anyone changed the tyres, if so, to what? Anyone care?????? Perhaps this will get some action going! [Edited on 16-4-2002 by SalesGuy]
  7. There have been some posts in alt.autos.lexus about engine/oil sludge in the 3.0 V6 VVti engine in the RX300. All posters have been US based, where (apparently) Lexus have suggested oil changes every 5k miles!! I have no problems with my RX, and have followed the 10K service intervals. Anyone know anything about this, or is the US engine a different spec?
  8. Any suggestions on where to fit a mobile in the RX? The suggested place is low down on the side of the center console - not easy to use while driving (I know, I know!). Also, can I get it to work via the screen without using the Lexus mobile (>£1000 for an old model Motorola). Any idea's welcome.
