  1. Happy Birthday Awang!

  2. I use HKS Hipermax +LS coilover and I'm very satisfied with it. Having them installed as it is, is already enough and it sits just like I wanted. But now I'm lowering it more and I had to do another wheel alignment different from the first time installed. I think you should consider buying the coilover. You'll need damper adjustment (hard or soft) according to your driving style and road condition.
  3. I use iTrip in my GS instead. Works fine using the FM. No connections required. There's lots of FM channels to choose from. :zee: Browse thru: iTrip-iPod
  4. Hopefully LOC can still keep up with the bandwidth used... Anyway, Cheers All! -Awang, Brunei
  5. Firefox can be tweaked for fast search. Here's how it's done. I've got this from sources over the net. "Here's something for broadband people that will really speed Firefox up: 1. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries: network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading. 2. Alter the entries as follows: Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. 3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives. -------------- Or simply download fasterfox 1.0.1 extensions. Then browse galleries like hell!
  6. There's no regrets in buying the GS, Fred. I've changed my 16" to 18" and it has better handling and better traction. You'll see VSC works better in the rain and slippery conditions.. (It's already proven and no bull!). I'm new and I'm not from around here myself .You'll learn lots from LOC and members in this forum. :winky: Cheers! -Awang, Brunei
  7. I've been browsing thru the archived gallery since I joined LOC. I still can't figure out which ride is 18" as some might be 19" . Is this CMM (Chix-Magnet Machine) ;) riding in 18"? Friends finds my ride ugly in 18s (wrapped in a Champiro GT 235/45/18 tyres).. but I'm 70% satisfied as it suits my budget and improved the quality ride (attacking corners, bumps and rough asphalt). GS proves to have great handling compared to cars I had driven. I think Lexus should have put an 18" as a stock wheel rather than the 16". Putting in nitrogen gas puts the car stable as tyres are more reliable. I'm looking forward for another 30% satisfaction if I have fit in the adjustable suspension. Awang, Brunei
  8. Hi. I've just bought SSW 18X8 SSW wheels two weeks ago for my pearl-white GS300 2001 model and waiting for the HKS Hipermax +LS suspension kit to arrive and installed end of January 2006. I need to see how nice (or how ugly as some friends have said) it's going to be when it will be lowered. A few directions to your ride is in the LOC gallery will also be OK. Thanks in advance. Awang, Brunei
  9. Hi. I'm new and I just want to share some suggestions from the nbt Toyota & Lexus parts and dealer mechanics here in Brunei in this forum especially for a proud Lexus owner like myself. I hope some people might find this useful: I have read threads about gurgle and rattle sound coming from inside the dash board and I tried each suggestions by members; draining & refilling the coolant, bleeding the cooling system because there's air bubbles and stuff. Some might work but in my case was no success. I was told that it's got to do with the servo motor which needs replacement on all four parts. The 4 parts cost about B$1520 (about £525 ) altogether excluding charges. The mechanics at nbt Brunei suggested that I change the temperature setting on my a/c until the rattle stops. I usually have the a/c ON at 18 degrees coz it's very hot and humid here. But today, I tried switching them higher 0.5 degree at a time until it stops rattling at 22.5 degrees. No more noises... for now. So it doesn't irritate me anymore and I can drive happily with total silence. :winky:
  10. Hi. I'm new to this board and I'd like to post a couple of question. I'm not from around here as I can't find LOC Asia. I'm not sure if this is the right column for the post but anyway here goes: I'm about to change the battery for my GS300 (model 2000) and I'd like to know what sort of precautions and perhaps tips that I should know about before I change it. I'm thinking of putting drycell battery instead of the ones using liquid (not the AAA type you use for the torchlight! :P ) just as I've put into my RB25DE Skyline. I need suggestions if it's OK to have them installed in my GS or not. Lastly, I need to know what's MkII and MkI. My Lexus is model 2000 so what's mine then? I hope my questions makes sense. Thanks. -Awang, Brunei Darussalam
