  1. Here is what you need to do. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-430/346420-quarter-window-mod-part-deux.html Two members of the german LOC made the mod.
  2. Did you check all the fuses?
  3. The last SC430 only meeting we had in the German CLud brought 4 SC drivers together. Its all over the same. However meeting other SC during a general LOC meeting is normally much more fun since more attend. SC drivers here most of the time either own another LExus or had another one before. So the contact between various LExus model drivers is quite good. Recently a small group ended up on the 'Ring' and yes we also had an LFA attending at one of the open for all LOC meetings in July. So call for an open one and it might workl out better.
  4. Seat memory might be lost as well
  5. Visit me also on the Europe LOC page

  6. Interesting - first time I read about painting/rust problems on an SC. Browsed the German LOC and nothing. I did own a 01 and now own a 06 both had/have no problem. Was there an potential cause given by LEXUS for the problem?
  7. Being from Germany its the otherway round for me since we drive regularly for a golf weekend to Kent. No changes needed. Lexus Europe confirmed. No changes needed and I had never a situation where I felt I 'beam' onto the wrong site of the road. Once I had a discussion with a French police officer about missing spare headlight set. I showed him the fronheadlight and how they adjust when you turn ignition on. ALso I showed him the owners manual with the strict advise to see a dealer for bulp change. I asked him if he would be in a position to change a bulp in a high voltage environement with no space to move even fingers. He did let me drive away.
  8. Tried, but behind the driver not space enough. And behind my wife she can't really care on the kid. The space is too tidy.
  9. Look forward to seeing them, what was the bar in the hotel like, friendly? I guess there are a few restaurants nearby though. Does this answer your question ?
  10. For me not at all something to seriously think about. Q1: Do I like the colour? Q2: What needs more cleaning care? At the end I would decide for a darker leather. I can handle some days with hot seats, but I have a challenge with all year dirty looking leather.
  11. Interesting comment on the ABS. In the situation you described I would have the TRC (Tracktion Control System) expected to work. However I don't like the TRC to work at any given light slide. It would take the "Joy" out of the driving. And at the end, once you are beyond the physical limits even TRC and ABS together don't help any more.
  12. We had the same challenge earlier this year and ended up buying again a SC. SL500 a real two seater roadster. No space for luggage when you want to take your golf clubs with you. Also look and feel is significant at a lower level than the SC. And based on the current car break down statistics not realy an option Porsche FUN on the road - Fun for the boy - but a pain after 2 hrs on a longer distance Jaguar not competitive for various reasons - woodwork and interieur was however best Masserati FUN FUN FUN - exept for cost of service & insurance. BMW no option - I had BMW before and got realy upset about their arogant dealership So at the end we got the 06 SC and are again a happy LEXUS customer....
  13. I had battery problems with my 2001 SC. After the winter 2003 Lexus did replace the battery for me free of charge. I did called the 'AAA' (well the ADAC) when the battery was down the second time and did sent a complaint mail to Lexus. Since than my dealer did react immediatelly and helped me to start the car. He said Lexus doesn't want to have any Lexus appearing in the automobile club break down statistics. After he started my SC the 4th time Lexus paid the new pattery. Since than never ever had anything again. I have to say that I drive my SC only seldom and sometimes it just sits for 2 month in the garage doing nothing. My new 2006 SC seems not to have the battery problem any longer. Always a 'strong' and easy start.
  14. @ Michael Just in case you didn't got it yet. Let me know - I could check with my LEX Dealer the part number. Oliver
  15. Meanwhile a solution was found for almost all the little topic I had. Latestly I did change the airfilter and replaced the original one with a K&N 33-2220. Reult is a reduced fuel consumption a more reactive car to the pedal :) and last but not least I now can at least imagine the fabolous sound of a large V8. Sound did realy improve witout becoming noisy or dominant. A tune mor for the ears rather than for the eyes :)
