  1. Can anyone with a Is-f sat nav tell me if there is a quick and easy way of using it with the postcode only set up, as i find it a really long winded and complex set up to use , i even upgraded the software disc from the toyota 2008 set up to toyota 2013-14 software disc hoping it would upgrade the system to a 7 digit postcode search from the original 5 digit set up, as i have been used to 7 digit searches and tom tom type set ups with my previous sat navs, i even use my phone now when out in the is-f as i find it quicker and easier than the vehicle set up, so can anyone help me sort this out or is it just me who finds it complex. by needing to input - nearest city, towns, streets etc thanks for any help on this
  2. Pete, how did you fit the front interior led light, how do you get the light unit apart to change the bulbs, as i can't see anything obvious to make a start on taking it apart, and dont want to damage or mark the unit without knowing what i am doing cheers for any help/info on this Mark
  3. if it is as bad as you say it is not a touch up stick you want, but a paint job, why not see what mobile wheel repair guys are in your area, and i think the code you mentioned is the paint code of the colour of the wheels, but a mobile guy can mix the paint to suit your colour on the job, and just blend the damage in around the edges.
  4. Hi again, looked again today it is not 1200rpm from cold it is more like 1500rpm from cold then drops down to just over 1000 rpm after 10-15 seconds, is this still the same for everyone, as it seems too fast to me for a v8, tick over is around 750rpm when warm. thanks again for any replies
  5. Hi Ryaans try this off e bay uk, 321243839253 this is the 1-E3 TOUCH UP. i haven't tried mine yet, will let you know when i do cheers Mark
  6. ok. that's good to know that it is normal tick over , thanks for the quick replies guy's,
  7. Can anyone tell me what their is-f ticks over at from stone cold, i think mine has seemed to get faster, unless i am imagining it and never noticed before, it starts up at 1200rpm then drops to around 1000rpm after 10-15 seconds, is this what everyone elses does? i have used it on a lot of short journey stop and starts (1- mile) recently. maybe why i am noticing it.
  8. thanks for the kind offer pete, but i bought a 1-E touch up of e bay uk
  9. thanks a lot roheel, i can see why now it's sewell, i had swell from the first post, lol, i have sent them an e mail, about the shipping, it came out at $84 from shppoing cart? in the meantime i have found 1E3 touch up on our good old e bay, even genuine toyota touch up's with free postage, my lexus dealer refused to send my recent touch up in the post, this meant a 75 mile total journey for me to pick it up, around 5 gallons in a is-f in fun mode lol.
  10. thanks for the replies guys, great help, what is swell's web site you mention roheel as i can't see to find this site?
  11. Does anyone know what the standard lexus is-f dark grey wheel colour is called ? As i would like to buy a touch up if possible, they do not warrant a refurb yet,
  12. hi all, i am a bit dissapointed today, when my mtec hid look 4300k bulbs arrived, the bulb is blue in colour, but were advertisd as clear glass, i don't like the blue in colour as this reflects on the lens of the vehicle lights when not lit up, just a personal thing, but i will continue looking for a set of clear glass bulbs to give the mains the same hid look of the dip beam if possible. If they are not available i will probably buy a hid kit to match the dip beam 4300k, Why did lexus cut some corners on such a high class expensive car, most vehicles that have hid fitted as standard have both the dip and main as hid, unlike our is-f's, the same goes for the interior, some bulbs led some std, why? how much did they save,by doing this, why not charge a few quid more and do it all properly? not half a job or is it something for us owners to do,lol, update, i fitted my hid look 4350k main bulbs by mtec racing today which came from from hid direct ltd, to see what the blue coloured glass bulbs looked like when fitted, i can hardly notice the blue colour which i am happy about,as i did not want a blue colured lense from the reflection of the bulb when they are not lit up, so they are staying in, happy days.
  13. Hi Glenn. I'm planning to post up links to each set of bulbs once I've fitted and tested them chap. Don't want to get anyone's hopes up until I am 100% sure they all do the job. :) The low beams are 4,300K, so tricky to get a matching rating as most are 4K,5K,6K etc. The LED sidelights I got are 7,000K, the main beams will be 5,000K, and the fogs will be 6,000K. The main thing I wanted was a pure, crisp, white light. Not looking for the blue look you see on most cars. The 7K are as blue as I'd want to go, but being so small, and being LED, they look whiter than 7K (more like 6K). I upped the rating on the LED's as they are smaller than the OEM bulbs, and whilst very bright, the beam is whiter than with halogens. If I'm right, the match should be pretty close once they're all installed. Cheers. Peter Hi Pete, i ordered my headlamp mains from hids direct ltd, mtec racing quality bulbs, hid look 4300k, 100w, give out 150w,@ £11.99 pair, i have used mtec before v good item. hope this helps anyone looking for 4300k bulbs out there.
  14. Is it me, or does anyone else think it strange why lexus never included rear privacy glass on the is-f, as my is200 sport had it as standard, You think being the IS range flagship it would have come with it, as it has got nearly every other extra you can think of.
  15. Hi Out of the 200 or so isf's in the uk, what is the most common colour made, as it seems black is the most popular colour of a isf to me. I don't know if anyone knows the specific numbers made in each available colour in the uk?
  16. Hi Can anyone enlighten me with the service schedule and prices for an IS-F 60,000 miles service, as i am thinking of buying an 08 with 45,000 miles anfd full history on it so it would soon be in need of a 60,000 mile service next, Do the engines need a belt at 60,000 or 6 years or are they a chain drive, What about the spark plugs, as my std, IS 200 needs 6 irridiums every 60,000 and these cost a enough from the dealer, so is the IS-F plug a similar cost each, and are there any other suprises due on a 60,000 mile service as i suspect rear diff oil/autobox oil and brake fluid would also be changed along side the std service items required, any info on this would a help in making my mind up about owning one, or staying with a std IS as these are costly enough to service, even though they help to make up for it by being more reliable than most other cars, I have read about the other running costs, like brake costs and tyre cost issues, but there are quality aftermarket items that can be fitted as an alternative to help with the running costs of the std servicing items. Thanks
  17. can anyone tell me if are there any garages with the capibilities to correct the tracking problems that are with the- is 200, that wim/tony can reccomend near the cardiff/swansea area, as i am fed up with removing front tyres that have worn on inner edges but still have 4 mm left on them.
  18. tony do you have any centres around the south wales area that can offer your calibration positions to stop the dreaded tyre wear thanks
  19. We will... The wim positions have been used Globally for three years now, so reasonably proven to stop the tyre wear, improve the handling/steering feel and braking performance. hi doc, can you give me your settings for a std is200 sport, so i can get my geometry set up as it wears on the edges of my front tyres quite bad, as when i have it 4 wheel aligned they dont do castor/camber just toe in/out, or if you wont give me the settings can you tell me where you are based or reccomend someone near me at south wales ,near neath, swansea, cardiff area of s wales. thanks
  20. hi can anyone tell me if the oil in the diff for an IS200 sport model (lsd fitted as std) is the same as the oil in a IS200 without a lsd fitted, also is the gearbox oil the same type as the diff oil , if so what spec/type is best used ie (synthetic gl 4/5) ? thanks for any help on this matter
