Just had to a pleasure of messaging with thelexusman. Took me a couple of mins to do a bit of google research

He’s the biggest conman going…. Be very very wary of him, hes banned from most lexus forums/groups for his dodgy dealings ripping ppl off either buying or selling, selling unsafe cars with dodgy work hes done himself on the cheap, thes a queue of ppl looking to have a wee word in his ear down a alleyway, he had his own forum but was caught out hugely with his dodgy stuff and some nasty personal stuff and he ended up banning and blocking anyone that spoke out against him…. Hes a guy to avoid either buying of or selling too

The wheel Refurbished was all leading onto the next spend up …fitting a new pair of  Pirelli P Zero tyres.

Although didn’t go totally to plan….wanted to match the tread pattern and only wanted one tyre, ordered from Asda tyres and had it fitted at a local tyre depot.

To my disappointment the tread pattern has been updated, yet I still needed that tyre replaced, so went ahead with it .

So now has old and new tread patterns on the same axle ☹️, the old tread patterned tyre had a cut in the side wall …probably not an mot fail but wanted them to match and be safe so bought a second one.

This time chose a different supplier, so now have the matching pair I wanted…note to myself….why do new tyres feed so much smoother and quieter on the road ? 😉😉

Ahhh but now the fronts are the odd ones out tut tut…. I agree with ya about matching up hence i usually go 4 new tyres every time, on my RCF i needed 2 rears awhile back but falken had changed the tread pattern slightly so went the full hog and got 4 to match…. Its been mentioned that i may have a slight OCD issue 😂

I don't get involved because Juan Thorns threw me off the group because his car didn't win any trophy's where mine did. He is the founder of the Lexus SC430 UK face book group and found it hard for me to have the lime light and recognition for organising the successful show which was held on my lawn in 2021. All the dirt on my name comes from that.  The gratitude I get for putting Lexus SC430 on the map and possibly helping to maintain the prices they fetch today. I am happy to talk to anyone about cars and would help anyone if its within my power.

    Kind regards

Your 1st post and you are again showing your true colours….so far up your own….. you made the meet all about you, and rattled quite a few attendees and most if not all members on the SC430 uk fb group, with the ohhh look at me etc etc….. best thing to of happened to that site was your demise and being kicked out….. and i wont mention the pittance you donated to the charity …considering the amount you took in, by charging members to be allowed onto your land,

it was a good meet but you turned it sour by making it out to be all about you

There’s only a few of us in scotland that i’m aware of, can probably count the RCF owners on one hand…

Did see an ISF near Rothes last time I was there mind you.  Need to make an excuse for us all to meet one day, perhaps a blast around the cairngorms or West coast!

Do you use yours all year round, and if so do you use an all season or winter tyre? Mine has Pilot Sports on at the moment.

Yep i do use it all year round except when it snows a bit, only because i have a 400ft steep driveway and wouldn’t matter what tyres i have on it “I ain’t getting up drive “ lol hence i also have a NX and a other make of 4x4…. For driving in snowy condition, i personally haven’t felt the need to go winter or all season tyres, although i do swap my alloys back to the 19’ OEM with sport pilots during winter, but generally run on my 20’’ alloys with summer tyres…. (Just my preference on tyre set ups)

Thanks for helping, especially the mirrors!

I'll have a further dig around in the nav screen to try and find the speed display.

The car lives in the far, far north just south of Inverness. Managed 33mpg on the motorway cruise home which I thought was pretty good going for a big V8. It's our only car, and is by a long way the most I have ever put in to a vehicle.

I've owned pretty much every 'fast' car you can think of, but already the rcf feels infinitely superior to any of them.

I’m 36miles to the east of Inverness just outside Elgin, would be great to meet up at some point as no other RCF owners are anywhere close to us up here,

as for mpg….you can get better, i used to regularly run from Elgin down to south of London (614mile 1 way) and achieved 36.5… and i dont hang around, 😂 moved down there for a couple of years but didnt like it so moved back up… but used to run up n down every 2 weeks during the lockdown periods …nice quiet roads and was a blast 😂

  7. Ive 3 cars at present all with personal plates on and for the past 23 years ive had personal plates on,plus in my household we have a extra couple on retention my son has personal plates on his car and motorbike, my youngest has a old personal plate of mine to put onto his car my ex missus has a p/plate that i bought for her…… yeah i dont see the point of personal plates either 😂…. Be a strange old world if we all conformed with each others likes and dislikes….

I was planning to take my Lexus to scotland. Good roads, not too many cameras I hear.

Sound like a great idea to me.

Where in Scotland…. A9 north of Perth is average speed cameras all the way up towards Inverness…. A90 north of Dundee is again covered in average speed cameras up to Stonehaven up by Aberdeen… most of other roads further north are just the mobile camera vans

Yeh that's good. Sidcup insisted on keeping the car all day for "a big job" but I was one of the first to have it done there so they are probably much faster at doing it now. I didn't get fuel either - just an inaccurate health check claiming my brand new brakes (50 miles old) had a lip on them lol [sigh]

Billy, i emailed Lexus yesterday about the fuel, and recieved a reply this morning via email and had a miss call off Lexus HQ but phoned them back

and have been well compensated for the lack of fuel being given….it is part of the policy that the recall vehicles get 20ltrs of fuel…. Maybe worth a call to your lexus garage that did yours

😂 yeah i declined all the extra stuff like that, as i know garages like to make stuff up for possibly touting for business….. yeah they did say they’ve done a few so are pretty good at getting them done sharpish… ****** i didnt get my fuel as it cost me a half tank to go and get this done and return  home, but at least it was a very nice spiritive drive there and back…probably why i went thru 1/2 tank 😂

My standard Lexus wheels looked great from a distance, but when close they had big lumps of paint flaking from them. They were painted by the supplying garage when it was purchase two years ago and it appeared that the paint did not adhere to the primer coat.

To do them justice they needed doing properly, which was stripping and powder coating. Then the trims and centre caps which are plastic, painting too. What I found was how much this work has gone up in recent years....no change out of £500!

The purists will say wheels should be  standard to the model. Others say that wheels are subjective and as beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

So decision was made that new alloys were the way to go because no waiting with the car off the road, no trips to tyre fitters or repeated journeys. If not bought on line, new alloys are instant, fitted while you wait!

There are so many choices. These include style, size, colour and not least price!

    So decision was made!

Ohh see you got your alloys from LK performance in Cleckheaton 👍🏻,

ive purchased two sets of alloys from them and my Armytrix exhaust system for the RCF

Huge range of alloys at this place and performance parts and great bunch of lads who feed and watered me for a full day as i waited whilsted they fitted my exhaust system along with a extensive tour of their other businesses and cars  next door at TUX autos and Rivera

37k on original pads - you aren’t trying hard enough 😉

I’ve been advised on more than one occasion across various different Lexus cars that my pads are worn and won’t last before the next service only to find there is 5mm+ still left  😠

PS Ideally don’t wait until the warning comes on otherwise you have the expense of having to replace the wear sensors

Have you ever tried to get out the wear sensors after being fitted for sometime, they usually break…. Rockauto in the USA do the wear sensors at a very cheap price compared to lexus pricing….shipping is cheap and extremly fast… i bought 8 lots and still have a spare 4 for the next time i change my pads…. 4 yrs in and ive changed my pads twice… not because of wear but replaced discs with new pads only to find they where really dusty pads so got a year out of them before my OCD properly kicked in and changed them for a lower dust ones…and wear sensors didn’t come out in one piece
