  1. Have you done anything about it Lexicon? Like contacting your dealer or Lexus GB? And if so, any progress?
  2. lol... wouldn't surprise me...
  3. My mails won't get through on the above email address? I used: http://www.lexus.co.uk/contact_email_frame.html Any other addresses I can send it too?
  4. OK folks - Thanks for the details on the warranty book and email address. I have just sent this... :mad:Sent: 11:47AM Friday 26th April 2002 To whom it may concern, I am emailing you to obtain an opinion and guidance on how to take a matter forward. I purchased my IS200 last year from Lexus Leicester as an approved used vehicle. I wash my car on a weekly basis, and polish it at least every month, and since owning the car have recently purchased the front, rear and side skirts from my dealer. Whilst polishing my car on Sunday, I noticed two things: 1) Rust appearing on the front edge of my bonnet 2) Bubbling on the front edge of my bonnet Now, after raising this matter with my dealer, the response I received was this is due to stone chips that I hadn't touched up soon enough. Unfortunately, this isn't the kind of customer service I expect as I have owned numerous vehicles without this kind of an issue. I appreciate stone chips are one of those things that can't be helped - but bubbling? I have read through the warranty booklet which states: 2. Surface rust and paintwork The warranty offers 3 years of cover for surface rust and paint defects appearing on any of the painted body panels due to a fault in material or workmanship. There is no mileage restriction on this. 3. Corrosion perforation 12 years of coverage is provided against bodywork perforation (i.e. any holes through the bodywork from inside to outside) due to corrosion that is attributable to faults in material or workmanship. Again, there is no mileage restriction. I am looking for some help here. This is NOT satisfactory, and without meaning to sound unreasonable or forceful, I would like to see something done. If you would like more details, or would like to discuss this matter further then please don't hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Kind Regards, Zaheer Ladak European IT Compliance Programme CapitalOne Bank (Europe) Second Floor (B2-F1-08), Loxley House, Station Street, Nottingham, NOTTS. NG2 3YJ Lets see what kind of a response I get out of them... I'll keep you all posted... :smug:
  5. I'm glad someone brought this up... I've had my Lexus just under a year, and although I bought it from the dealer its a V plate. Now I was polishing away (as I do every weekend...) this Sunday and noticed 2 things on the edge of my bonnet ( at the front on the lip). 1) Bubbling 2) Rust Not impressed. Contacted the dealer at 9am sharp Monday. Me "Morning. I have a problem. My Lexus is beginning to bubble and rust. Can you sort this out under warranty?" Them "No. You have touch up paint right? Well, due to stone chips, its one that has gone deep into the body work and as YOU haven't done anything about it, its begun to rust. Paint it - it will be fine" Me "Erm... NO I DON'T THINK SO." Them "Sorry can't do anything about it" Me "YES YOU CAN" I think you get the jist.... Anyway, end result? Zip. Diddly squat. Zilch. Zippo. I've yet to contact Lexus GB though... I just hope I get a better response from them...
  6. lol hhhhhmmmmmm..... is this thread actually going anywhere???? .... Or shouldn't I be asking.... :P
  7. Shrek, Been using Rain-X for over a year now and it definately improves your visibility. It is difficult to apply as it takes some time to buff your windows, but it certainly beads water off quicker...
  8. hhhhhmmmm. Thats a good point. Although mine are still in good condition, they have begun to pit. What did you say to Lexus to get them exchanged Kamlex? Was it challanging?!?!
  9. Debadging the IS200 is pretty straight forward to be honest. As stated, no holes or pegs - just stuck on. Lexus removed mine free whilst they were fitting my kit - ask the dealer to do it - it won't take long and at least you have peace of mind that they will do a good job.
  10. Looking good Tony - Where did you get the spoiler from? Was it expensive or difficult to fit?
  11. Steady on people... because I have debadged mine!!! Well, I have left the "L" in the middle of the boot but removed the Lexus and IS200 logos. I have pictures up if you want see what they look like. I just thought most people would know what my car is... so why have badges telling them!!! ;)
  12. Good idea batman... ;) I must do some investigations...
  13. Congratulations Chris... I think it was those Blue Vision Bulbs that swung it! :D
  14. I have to say thats expensive. My 40k service is due in around 6 months, however, I didn't realise it was going to be that expensive. :( Oh well, looks like I'll just have to save my pennys...;)
  15. I am not worthy to anyone on this page!!! :( Andy 3 stars... I think thats what I'll call you from now on! I look up to you now - you are no longer my 2 star buddy! :( I think you ought to get some kind of a ceremony at the JAE meet - you Advanced Club Member You!!! :D
  16. Agree with Andy, Would love to know the times and kind of improvement. Would be interested - although would probably need a crate of the stuff with the millage I do!!! :o
  17. Folks, I doubtb I will be staying but am offering any help the day before or during the meet. I live in Leicester but work in Nottingham, so amd just round the corner. Food, Beers, and whatever else you may need - let me know. Pray the weather holds out... ;)
  18. Thanks Andy... The plates were a little expensive... :smug: The side skirts are indeed the ones available from your local Lexus dealer - and the badge on the grill says "Sport". Its the Sport Grill - again available from your dealer. Cheers, Zee
  19. A lady walks into a Lexus dealership. She browses around, then spots the perfect car and walks over to inspect it. As she bends to feel the fine leather upholstery, a loud fart escapes her. Very embarrassed, she looks around nervously to see if anyone has noticed her little accident and hopes a sales person doesn't pop up right now. As she turns back, and there standing next to her is a salesman. "Good day, Madame. How may we help you today?" Very uncomfortably she asks, "Sir, what is the price of this lovely vehicle?" He answers, "Madame, if you farted just touching it, you are going to s**t yourself when you hear the price." :D:D:D:D:D
  20. Andy - Did you get the Blitz exhaust fitted and if so what does it sound like? I too am looking for "sporty" without a headache on long journeys (i.e. I don't want to hear the exhaust inside for my hour journey to and from work!) Darkness - Have you had your HKS fitted and if so what do you think? Thanks for the help guys - I am currently debating between the two myself, so your opinions are going to be valuable... ;)
  21. Thank you everyone!!! I'm truly touched...:D Chris - Hopefully coming to JAE, even if I don't stay over as its not far from where I live. Leexus - Its the Lexus Sport Grill... Kamlex - 15 minutes and they were in. Only tricky part was painting the bulbs red (a number of times so that they didn't give off too pinker a light!) Matt - yes, thank you - I've responded... Superchargedmorph - work out? I'm knackered!!! Takes me a week to recover and then I start all over again! Thanks to all of you who have taken the time out to have a look... :saint:
  22. Why thank you very much kind sir! My arms are aching after yet another Sunday spent applying and removing three layers of polish! Its a shame I missed your last meet at Gaydon - I really wanted to show everyone... Never mind, definately next time. Just a few minor tweeks left before its finished...
  23. Agree with Wallace. The personal content made the article a lot more unique in comparison to the usual stuff. Your car looks great Tony. A real shining example. My magazine has exchanged hands a dozen times already because of it...!
