Finally.... After 5 months of waiting, the IS250 has arrived!!! It's been so long, I'd actually forgotten what the car looked like, inside and out!! Although since we had a GS300SE as a loan car for the last 3 months, I've unfortunately been comparing it to the IS now and find the IS lacking a bit in terms of space and gadgets!! Don't get me wrong, I'm still pleased with the IS as it is my car and it does look a damn sight better compared to the GS. So far I've had the car a week but the wife has had it the most since I'm constantly driving on the motorway for work. The wife is still impressed with it but she does miss the memory setting for the seats. I don't think we've got any rattles either, touch wood!!!! I'll keep you guys updated anyway M

Lucky you Michael! Makes up for the delay I guess. As a matter of interest, did your dealer arrange insurance for the loan car, or did you have to transfer your own? IanB :D Sorry for late reply Ian. I handed my old car in Jan and so cancelled my insurance then. I dialed around and couldn't get insured on loan car as it was still registered in dealers name. Dealer provided insurance in the end.

I'd settle for that.... Ordered my IS mid Jan with expected delivery end of March but then that was put back to June now. Luckily, my dealer wangled a brand new GS300 for me untill my car arrives!!!! Been driving that for last month now!!! Don't mind when the IS comes now!!! :D

Will they not just cover you on their own policy as they would normally for a courtesy car? I used to have this problem when I was too young to be covered on their policy, so would have it covered on my car's policy - there's a certain allowance of free days to cover a courtesy car on your policy Yeah. Lexus finally decided to cover me on their insurance now as I had so much trouble getting insured on the car. But picked the car up saturday and it is very nice indeed!!! A bit slow on pickup but fine afterwards once you get going.

How about Lexus insurance....they should have a good idea of what's going on Just tried them and they said no!!! Like everyone else so far, they can't insure me because it is hire car and car is not registered to me!! So, Lexus giving me a hire car is pointless as I can't get insured on it!!!

Hi guys I'm getting a hire car from Lexus to drive for the next 3 months till my IS arrives in June. However, I need to arrange my own insurance for the car. The car will still be registered to the Lexus dealer so most insurance companies won't insure you if you are not the registered owner. Does anyone know of any insurance company that does this? Cheers

Hi Barry At the time, I didn't really drive my car and as my insurance, road tax and MOT were all due this month, thought I might as well hand it in early just incase the car didn't arrive on time and I had to get those sorted out. Otherwise i would prob have kept my car till the new one came in. Don't mind about the car coming in late as it means that I get to put some more money away til the car comes!! The wife will be happy too as she gets her car back now!!

That seems quite unacceptable to have taken your p/ex and now not be able to give you the new one till June, I'd kick up a bit of a fuss and they may lend you a car to use in the mean time....... Just got call from dealer today. I'll be getting a brand new GS300 to drive until I get my car whenever that arrives!! Should get the GS 22nd March. Not bad result!!! Only prob now is that after i've driven the GS for few months, prob want that instead of the IS!!! :D

nicnac No. the dealer didn't say why production was stopped or for how long it stopped for. He called up again today and said he'll be s[peaking to the area manager on Friday so should know more about what is going on then. Ha55anx I ordered mid Jan for IS250SE with MM. Even handed my car in early part-ex too!!!

Just got call from my Lexus dealer today. He has said that that my car which was supposed to come end of march now won't arrive till June!!! Apparently, Lexus stopped production of the IS for a little and now all IS delivers are being delayed as a result!! Has anyone else heard the same? Bit miffed off with this as I had handed my car in as early part-ex too!!

Ordered mine mid Jan and also handed my car in for early part-ex. Brechin Slate SE with MM. Dealer has said delivery should be end of March. Still awaiting confirmation of the delivery date though.

Hiya guys All this talk of cars not being delivered as the dealer originally said it would be is getting me a bit worried. I put my order in 2 weeks ago and was told that it would be ready for end of March which I was ok about. I've already handed my celica in as part-ex considering I don't drive it anymore and the missus has a little 206 runaround we can use in the meantime. Although, since they hnow have a hefty deposit with my car as part-ex, would prefer to have the car asap. Just called my dealer up and he said to call back on Monday when they can check on computer for a more approximate delivery date. So far I've had a very good reception from my dealer - even when they had a SC430 hijacked during a testdrive while we were there and they were running around calling police, etc!! That made for an interesting day there!! - They still managed to persuade me to buy the IS!! PS Still haven't seen an IS on the road yet down my way!!

Hiya All Michael Aged 30 Living in North London Wife had a healthy bouncing boy in November so decided it was time to change up to a family car!! I've currently got a modded Toyota Celica which I'll be part-exing now. Put in an order for an IS250SE with MM last weekend :D Car won't be delivered till end of March though
