Hi, i got an is 250 auto whit 9 years old, and my geabox is kaput, Im changing to another car, a smaller one. The problem whit the gerabox is that Lexus dont have service for it, you must change oil and filter ever 80.000kms, because they dont did to my car today whit 160.000kms gearbox is kaput, works only on safe mod, have only 1st 2sec and 3rd. 3.500 euros plus taxs to fix on Lexus. 2.000 euros to fix on a repair gearbox company. I love the car but is to expensive to repair this issue, so im going change to a smaller and more fuel efficient car. The problmens whit all cars star on 160.000kms. If you do service to your gearbox, i think you will never get problemns.

Your spot on akkilles with mine which is auto and 9l to 9.5l mixed roads mainly city but highway driving is 6.4l - 100km to 7l - 100km (44mpg to 40mpg) is exellent compared to my IS300:D :D :D SHELL OPTIMAX 7.98L is 35.3mpg just thought you won't to know. Last Trip 262Kmhs, highway drive. Avg Speed 120Kmh.

Cannot see the point of a moon roof to be honest as it just introduces noise. Why would you drive along with the window open if you've got A/C? It's just another window, but in the roof. I have one on my IS200, but rarely if ever use it..... apart of course to look through when keeping track of the plod chopper when it makes a rare appearance :D :D For me there are somme vantages on a moon roof. First off all, i love it Second, is better to have the roof open, than the window. Better in high speeds. Less noise. In some situations that outside temperature is not so hot, i dont use the AC, moon roof open. More light in the cabin.

Normaly i have 9L - 100Km (I think is 31mpg) - mixed roads. Last 58L of petrol = 727Kms 7,98L - 100Km (mpg ???) - Driving to try make a better result - mixed roads, 50% motorway, other roads at 80kmh or less. In town normaly get 31mpg/29mpg Petrol: BP ULTIMATE

Go to your dealer and enter on both cars. Mine has sunroof, and ia love it. Im 1,80m At 6000kms, appers some ratles on sunroof, a had put some spray silicon, anda have solved the problem.

"My english is not so good" Just take a look, to this picture posted in a portuguese forum. Topic is "The new IS" In this forum we have a small group of lexus owners, and a lot of BMWs owners. The sbject is always the same BMW 3 Series VS Lexus IS 220/250. In our portuguese magazines, the BMW always win. (All of them have 2 pages off BMWs Pub) For this Bmws Owners, the 3 Series is faster, have more space, more quality, low cost, more pretty, etc. This is my first Lexus, and i have make the right decision. Im in love whit IS. Every corner, every street i see a 3 Series. Lexus where are they, is rare to see the is 200. Wen i go out, people stop to see the car, they look saying "Whats that". In one highway, one passenger on other car, have put is camera on (in a movil phone) to film the car.

One question: Is available in any model Lexus the system "Launch Control", like that on the BMWs?

All portugueses are geting oils cars, bmw 320d, 530d, Hondas cdti, everyone, next year they will have a tax because the poluition of the world. Oil consuming increase every year more than 20% I will get the petrol, more money for our govern, 24.000, 00€ of taxing In oil version 20.000, 00 €

Im from Portugal and today, will be my first contact to the car, test drive etc. In my country i need 58.000,00 € to get an IS 250 SE auto whit Multimedia pack. Same car but engine diesel cost 53.000,00 €. Please give yours feedback, should i get the petrol or oil? Whit a full tank, how many Kms a can do, in a petrol? Petrol cost 1,30 € per Litre Oil cost 1,00 €. Sorry about my english, but i try to do better. Regards
