  1. just done mine any 1616 will do the job £2:50 from my locale market
  2. SHEELDZY am i right in thinking you work for DSG
  3. i have 8k fitted, when i get flashed i just flash back
  4. there is only one screw in the middle top of the grill, then moving out from the centre of the grill left and right there is two clips, pull up the centre of each clip closest to the centre of the grill and remove the hole clip from the grill top, now on the end of the grill underneath where the clip was is a lug of plastic attached to the grill, you will need to use a little bit of force on the corner of the grill gently pushing it back towards the radiator, one corner at a time, it will stand a good bit of twisting and bending, at the same time pushing the bottom of the grill inwards. it is quite easy really couple of minutes job
  5. Lately... when I put the car in reverse... it moves... even with the handbrake on! is this before you release the clutch peddle
  6. It might be a good idea to have it fitted at one of their centres rather than have a mobile guy do it outside. Are you not fully comp? yes i am full comp but with £250 excess and my insurer told me i would also lose 3 years no claims
  7. FRONT LOWER ARM BUSHING just found these chaps top speed, mite come in very handy if they are the same part number as the is200 top speed auto accessories are in LA. over here you have to buy the full arm at a cost of £141. Ive just registered on the USA forum. may be able to get some one over there to post the parts out here. there must be a company some where in this country that can make a copy of these http://www.topspeedauto.com/ProductCart/pc...;idproduct=1988 http://www.amazon.com/Lexus-IS200-IS300-00...s/dp/B001PTN0UC
  8. i got quoted over£700 for OEM screen from auto glass just last year, ROBBING GIT'S. so i got a copy one from a firm in Lancaster (windscreens direct) for £170 fitted.
  9. BUT!!! whats the point buying big powerful cars if we need a computer to drive them for us, i thought the pleasure was in driving them for or ourselves (Jame's!! bring the car around and take me to town)
  10. no mate that's all there is the shiny hole is just a mount bolt hole x2
  11. yes TRC is a good thing but unfortunately it gives a false sens of security to sum driver making them believe they can drive much faster than they usually would or have the capability to, ITS A GOOD THING IN THE RIGHT HANDS. ITS GOOD/ITS BAD
  12. this is one possible solution to turn TRC of sort of semi permanent but still with the option of having it on 1, find the TRC fuse and pull it out, then solder 2 piece's of wire one to either side of the fuse holder, at the other end of the wire's attach a simple on / off breaker switch ,then on either 1 off the wire's put an in-line fuse just for protection. sounds to simple to be true but i cant see why it wont work. leave the switch in the off position and it will just be like having no fuse in the TRC, (DISCLAIMER DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK, ITS NOT TESTED YET) MMMMMM!!!! this mite not be as easy as i made it sound, Ive just been having a ratchet through the wiring diagram and the TRC appears to be linked in whith the ABS.
  13. This all fairly obvious and raises the question: Should the driving test include an IQ test? NO!! but it should it should include skid pan driver training, in my early days all we had was rear wheel drive cars with out TRC, so we had no choice other than to learn how to drive in a skid, Skid pan is a major missing element of the driving test.IMO!
  14. tip no2 never go to some one offering cheap MOT'S 9 TIMES OUT OF 10 YOUR GOING TO GET A FAIL!!! then you will have to get the work done there cos if you take the car away they will charge you a retest fee at full price, its a win win for the garage
  15. RIPOFFS ,DONT GO TO NATIONAL GARAGES OF ANY TYPE, your better of with a locale independent garage. just had mine 4wheel tracked for £35=vat, do the ball joint your self its only three bolts, you mite need a joint splitter but that's only about £7 and you have it for future jobs.
  16. TRC off every time, I'm trying to find a wiring dodge to turn off the TRC automatically rather than ON!! every time i start the engine, anybody done this before. TRC. OFF!! OFF!! OFF!! SIDEWAYS IS THE BEST WAY!
  17. A SMALL TIP!! WHEN RENEWING, don't stick with your currant insurer and just give them your money, you wont get a good offer of them because they already have your business, the best offers only go to new customers because they need you. try phoning your currant insurer with a different name and see what quote you get, then phone back with your real name for a renewal.
  18. i quit like your avatar. BUT what did you use to mod the car a (BIG TANK!!) at least now i can imagine what a 2 door coupe would look like
  19. OAP 46. 5years and more ncd insurers premium £137.81 adminfee £45.00 TOTAL PAYABLE £183.81 WITH FLUX DIRECT/EQUITY RED STAR
  20. i took mine out and give the lens a good clean with a cotton wool bud and some hand cleaner the type you have to use when entering the hospital, now it plays every disc i put in first time.
