  1. Hi Kazi Sorry to hear you are having problems - I moved from BT to o2 this year and have been on - but then I'm only 2km from the exchange. As someone else suggested you need to check the stats on the router to see if it's syncing ok, I don't use the Thomson o2 supply so I haven't seen what it has - I suspect it'll be minimal but it might give an idea. You need to see if the problem is the connection or not. You don't say if you've gone through the usual checks so.... as a test I always recommend removing everything else from the phone system to test - if you have a "proper" BT master socket take out the lower panel and plug the microfilter in the hidden socket - this should cut out all your internal wiring, sometimes that and the phines can cause problems. If this isn't possible just unplug everything except the router (make sure you remember sky boxes and fax machines (faxes cause me the greatest issues with BB) then reboot the router and see what you get. As you have such a low speed you should see if there's a difference straight away. If there is it's a process of elimination - connecting stuff until you find a fault.... last one of those I saw was a dodgy skybox - worked fine - would dial up etc but put a nasty hum on the lne when connected, so I disconnected it. Whn Sky rang the customer to say "we can't see the box anymore" she told them her BB supplier had condemned it and they tried to charge for a repair! One other thing is to change the microfilter - they DO go faulty and some are better than others (the BT ones are expensive but good - the cheapies can be just as good but quality varies so it's worth a swap or two) Anyway - if problem is stil there then it's unlikely to be your bit. BT can test the line for simple faults but sometimes it's just the quality of the copper (or sometimes aluminium) which causes a problem - BT should be capable of finding it but will be reluctant unless pushed by o2. Have you tried picking up the phone and dialling 1 then listening - it should be pretty much silent - if there are hums or crackles they are going to induce errors, mention them to o2,BT Ask for a pair change. If the line speed is OK there may be other issues with the PC or the network connection - I doubt that though as you seem to have done those tests and anyway they shouldn't drop it so far. One final tip is to threaten to change providers as they're not giving you adequate service, trouble with that is most ISP's use BT anyway and if it's the line...... Hope this is of some use.
  2. One more thing - I seem to recall some threads elsewhere about issues with certain router chipsets and certain BT Line cards... I think the Thomson was ok but may be worth a google.
  3. If the software has settings for the printer it might be better to change the page break command - I'd add the ASCII codes there after the ^L (feed to end of page). It's just a thought too - is the cutter failing to work *because* the page length is incorrect??
  4. I have no reason to doubt my guy - he's very straight. (Long story) However I'll give it a go.
  5. Sure I've emailed dewsbury auto breakers as they say they've a load of IS200's for sale as wrecks. I'm hoping they'll sel me studs off one of them. As the guy at the garage says - hey at least you still got four - your old R19 16V used to do 130mph all the time on just four! Still I think I'd prefer a full complement!
  6. Ok I've searched and searched and can't see a definitive answer. There were a couple of posts about this but neither actually had the answer. One of my wheel studs has sheared (wasn't me honest) and I need a new one - my local independant garage has tried all the dealers in the area and they refuse to sell him a stud/ They say it's a safety thing and he'll have to buy the whole hub. Only £25 but still 1000% more than a stud. I know the thread is M12x1.5 but what is the standard length? I am trying to get a scrap one from one of the breakers but I'd like to know as others have had broken studs and it might be helpful. I have researched and am guessing its 71mm total length and 51mm thread from various online sellers but I'm confused as resellers often sell longer ones. I suppose the scrappy is the best bet, assuming I get that fits I'll advise.
  7. Hi Tony I got my IS200 from a Car supermarket with a 3 yr warranty only valid if I serviced it at regular intervals. I thought that was a pain as my nearest Leccy dealers are all at least 30 miles away. I queried this and the warranty is valid with any Garage's stamp doesn't have to be Lexus so they don't seem too bothered. As a follow on - to be safe on the first service (3 year old first MOT) I took it to the local Toyota dealer who polished it - changed the plugs and the window washer fluid (or so it seemed) and charged me £138 and left a note saying the discs were corroded and would need changing soon. I went to my local garage - which I have dealt with for years and trust. He changed discks all round and pads all round for £300 - he MOT's it and services it with no problem. Well apart from the first time he did it - he rang me and asked if the engine warning light was on when I dropped it off... turns out it came on cos he'd disconnected something and he rang one of his mates to find out how to reset it! Anyway - the moral for me is - a good mechanic is a good mechanic. If your dealer has one great if not and you find a trusted one then he'll cope - it's only a glorified Toyota after all.
  8. Well here's an odd one I have a 2001 IS200 which has thrown up a strange one, can't get it to do it again but I swear I saw it with my own eyes. #1 daughter was skipping tracks on a playing CD and generally pratting about with the system whilst I was driving so I wasn't paying attention.. suddenly the music stopped and she had managed to get PAUSE on the display.. I tried pressing play, no joy, then changing to radio and back - still no joy.. after a quick press of a few buttons I resorted to turning the unit off and on... everything worked again. I've looked at the manual and can't find a pause and I've sat in the car whilst picking up #1 from various parties etc and tried buttons and combinations but I can't do it.. anyone seen this before?
  9. Oh yeah although it's so quiet I wasn't sure util I saw the water coming through the bonnet soundproofing!
  10. Mine did that last week - Try spraying with the bonnet open.. if water comes out the bonnet lining then it's likely to be what I assume is a flow regulator which came apart. Under the bonnet soundprooing between the two jets is a small black "thing" inline with the pipe. Mine had come apart and all I found was a spring inside. I pushed it back together but after two sprays it fell apart again. I glued it with rubber solution glue so I could pull it apart again if I needed. Now I've fixed it the drivers side sprays OK but the passenger side is a bit weak on one spray and none-existant on the other. Having thought about it I suspect the "thing" is a regulator to balance up the spray, I guess the sring held a stopper against the pipe to make more water go to the passenger side. If it wasn't so damn old I'd go to the scrappy and see if I can find something on an old Toyota to put in.
