  1. If I remember correctly, the two button transponder is part of the valet key. You still need the transponder from the master (i.e. three button) to do the setup.
  2. I had a very similar problem after having had some issues with my battery and failed attempts at a jump start. It does sound like a fuse has gone. Would implore you to follow lexynik's advice as this is what AA found when I called them out at the time. I seem to recall having some issue with the fuse and housing which meant a tow and fix at the dealership (cost around £50 to rectify) otherwise I would have bought the fuse and replaced myself (not mechanically inclined also!). Best of luck mate.
  3. I was in a very similar predicament a while back (not in the middle of a club - just one key) but managed to retrieve one of my keys from a dealership so my purchases became redundant. I may have a set (not sure of combination - whether it is the uncut key/remote). Will see what I have and so may be able to help out. Will check at home in the eve and pm if you're happy with that?
  4. I had the dreaded judder (on braking, not acceleration) some time back and after changing a combination of brake pads/discs (mintex set) and tyres (Falkens), it disappeared. I needed to get these sorted at that time so naturally I was pleased. Without trying to profess any meaningful mechanical competence and just going by experience, it could be down to alingment/fitment of the brake pads and or warped discs. Tyres get a battering on the IS200 so this could also be the root of the problem. Best of luck anyway...
  5. I'm in Prestwich, near Heaton Park (North Manchester). Quiet orthodox jewish area I am led to believe. Did the rounds last night with the neighbours, nobody saw anything! Turns out that another Lexus IS owner down the street (blue '03) had his mirror swiped, next door has an IS too (platinum ice '99) but not a problem. Fancy having three on the same street, sure that is some sort of record (3 out of 24 neighbours having a Lex too!). Got the window replaced by National Windscreens. Only went with them as RAC Autowindscreen/Autoglass had no windows available. Basically, they did a crap job! Clearing up is part of their remit and there were loads of shards still on the passenger seat, mat etc etc. When I was waiting in reception, there was a phone complaint and then to my horror, another dissatisfied customer came in complaining about a recent fit. I was assured my fit would be fine - will wait and see on this. I'm sure other depots aren't that bad but consider if you come to fit. The guy who replaced the window told me that someone shot at the car with a pellet type gun and showed me the damage to other parts of the paintwork (see below, disregard the self inflicted arch scrapes ). Its quite a rounded deep ding. Autoglass who did the Yaris say that it was an air gun too. This is worrying...!!! :o Now I definitely have experience of why Manchester is called Gunchester!!! I am due to move down 'sarf...can't wait. http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/7163/dscn0001kn2.jpg http://img367.imageshack.us/img367/8590/dscn00012zt6.jpg http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/8463/dscn00011va8.jpg
  6. Absolutely gutted! My near side window was smashed along with another car in the household yesterday night (10-10.30pm), see pics. below. Excess to be paid when auto glass replacement guys come - could have done without this. Strangely, alarm did not go off at all (the baby lexus kept quite as it was being abused!...how sad). I have convinced myself that I locked the car when I last used it - I am very trigger happy when getting out of the car. Perhaps I pressed the 'lock' button twice and disengaged the radar sensor function (surely, alarm would still go off if intruder tries to break in?). The vandal(s) probably used one of those shatter glass hammers on both cars (sadly, the other car in the household was a Toyota too, albeit not the luxury range). Whoever did it, came on to my private driveway, 'tapped' the back window of the Yaris, negotiated through the small passage between car and hedge, bypass the Lex n/s rear window and 'tapped' the n/s front. Not sure about the vandals logic (why not tap the n/s rear?) but makes me very angry indeed! :tsktsk: As a formality, I phoned the police. Incident no. and crime ref. to follow, a waste of time! (A quote from 'Goodfellas' the movie comes to mind...Jimmy, I'd complain, but who'd listen?) If only the alarm went off, those golf clubs in the hallway would have got an outing! Would have defended my property to the hilt... Any advice for when the auto glass replacement guys come as to type of window replacement?
  7. Check excessive wear on tyres too, especially the fronts.
  8. Moffet According to my invoice on 11/12/07, battery is listed as: L28800-YZZAE Unit price was £46.00 and with gold discount, £41.40. Hope inflation hasn't affected the prices! c4shr
  9. I am sure it is the tyres, had a similar judder problem when my tyres needed changing (all four) after service. Despite a full brake overhaul to Mintex, the problem persisted around 60mph. Once I changed the front NS the problem went, I noticed quite a gash in the thread.
  10. Hmmm...as Audi now have Lamborghini under there belts, doubt there is any likelihood that a Lambo is going to have an 'Audi' branded battery sitting in there!...Imagine.
  11. I got an excellent 'made to order' rear plate from demonplates.com to the exact mm. Cant recommend them enough, they were helpful and provided a very quick service.
  12. I would definitely think it is the tyres, my car was doing the same and then the judder came in at high speed. Having changed all four tyres, the problem is resolved. Ive had Bridgestone Potenzas and Dunlop SP's - I dont rate them at all. Opted for Falken FK452's from Camskill.co.uk (£60 a piece), they are absolutely brilliant on both wet and dry conditions. They look the business too! Check you front tyres, inner tread wearing quicker than outer will mean that your geometry needs to be set.
  13. Best to get the Lexus Dealership battery, its cheaper than the Halfords one by miles. Only problem is that it has Toyota branding on it barring that, it is ace!
  14. Here are some alloy wheels for sale in Manchester on ebay, I would hurry though as the auction ends soon... Link I am going to view a car later on in the week and will see if there is a set of leathers going, I will get a price for you and then pm you. Is this ok?
