  1. I've read thru all the posts I can find on this but want to be 100% sure. I know that to replace the Stereo unit the numbers on the Label on the bottom of units must match - AFAICS there are 2 versions - ( ie 86120-53040 & 86120-53041)? Visibly the main difference is the position of the Tape & CD units are reversed. But what about the number on the from LCD display panel (1390n). I've seen several variations of this number but from the pictures there seems no difference - do they have to match - if they do its going to make finding the right unit even more difficult! There are also other numbers on the bottom label - ttfn Richard
  2. Cheers, Pictures and everything! I was searching for Stereo removal not Radio Removal. Off to buy the masking tape! Perhaps one of the Mods could add it to the Audio/Visual Knowledge section Thanks Richard
  3. Sorry mate, simple answer is no. It can be done but have heard it is quite tricky. Best bet, depending on your spec, would be to buy an aftermarket headunit. PS, welcome to LOC Thanks, I think you are right, put off the idea of an s/h unit in case it happens again. I've found mention of Removal Instructons in the "Workshop" area, I can't for the life of me find them, anyone got a Link/Copy? ttfn Richard
  4. Hi, I've had a look around the forum and can't find a conclusive answer. Can I fit a Late Model CD player (post 2001) as a direct replacement for an early model in a 99 IS200? ttfn Richard
  5. Thanks, I cartainly couldn't do it myself, as a 13amp plug replqacement is a major job for me ;-) Guess I'll have to save up for a TomTom. ttfn R ps I've got a green one too!
  6. Hi, I have a 99 IS200 SE Auto. I am wondering if a Sat Nav unit from a IS200 Navigator Pack can be fitted to my model. Will it fit straight in or does it need extra wiring/connectors, I presume it needs connecting to the CD player (which I will also replace as it has the ERR3 error). Any help would be appreciated. ttfn Richard.
  7. Buying Tips on Early IS200 Hi, I’ve read the various tips on buying IS200s, but as they haven’t been updated recently and as I’m limited by budget to the earliest Models (99/00) I hope you don’t mind me asking again. I want an Auto Model, <90K, looking for trouble free motoring and ownership and am a bit of a klutz as a mechanic so would prefer to avoid Import Models. I’ve read about possiblle problems with tyre wear and to check for coolant leaks and corroded Alloy’s, but that’s about it. What about Timing Belt replacement, whats the recommended mileage/garage cost? Thanks in advance for any help. Tfn Richard
