  1. I've had the car for about 1 month, I'm having a bit of trouble with the remote locking and unlocking button on the key. it doesn't seem to operate what ever i do no response and the switch for the remote lock inside the car is set to the on position. I also boughta new battery. I followed these steps but no response from the car: Keyless Entry Remote Transmitter Activation Procedure: 1. Start with the following conditions: Key is out of the ignition, Driver door is open (all other doors are closed) and Driver door is unlocked (other door don’t matter). 2. Insert the key into the ignition (don’t turn it) and pull it out. 3. Perform these steps within 40 seconds: a. Using the power lock/unlock switch on the driver’s door, perform 5 lock/unlock cycles starting with lock (a lock/unlock cycle consists of pressing the power lock switch, followed by pressing the power unlock switch on the driver’s door panel. Use an even pace and try to go relatively fast). b. Close, then open the drivers door. 4. Perform these steps within 40 seconds: a. Using the power lock/unlock switch on the driver’s door, perform 5 lock/unlock cycles starting with lock (just as you did previously). b. Insert the key in the ignition cylinder. Turn the ignition to ON (as far as you can go without cranking your engine), then back to OFF. c. Remove the key from the ignition. Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should cycle (lock then unlock) twice automatically indicating successful entry into programming mode. Return to Step 1 if the locks do not cycle at this point. 5. Perform these steps within 40 seconds: a. Press any button on the transmitter for 1 second or more. Within 3 seconds, the door locks should cycle (lock then unlock) once indicating successful programming. If the door locks do not cycle, or cycle twice, repeat this step – your remote has not been accepted. b. Close then open the door once. c. Press any button on the transmitter for 1 second or more. Within 3 seconds, the door locks should cycle (lock then unlock) once indicating successful programming. If the door locks do not cycle, or cycle twice, repeat this step – your remote has not been accepted. Close driver door. any ideas??
  2. Checked on the hoist and it ended up being the gearbox mount, thanks for your help
  3. Today i did a few test and realised that the car vibrates when in park or neutral and the more i rev the more the vibration so i guess its from the engine. any ideas??
  4. Thanks for that, I'll check that during the week. I have also noticed that the shudder occurs mainly between 50 and 70km/hr, and more noticable when i take my foot off the accelerator. It still happens upon acceleration but not that noticable.
  5. Thanks guys, is there any way i can check the prop shaft myself.
  6. 1) Could be a symptom of transmission fluid having been added at some point with incorrect frictional properties. These cars must only have Toyota T-IV in their transmissions. A FULL fluid replacement (and filter change) may certainly help, but will not be cheap. A sensible precaution to take though, especially if you're unsure of the car's history. Beware - even Toyota service centres sometimes use cheap fluid, so a main dealer service history is no guarantee that it's been done right. See lexls.com for details. 2) Please excuse my ignorance, but what's a fender pole? ← thanks for your reply, I was planning on doing the transmission service this coming week, so i'll try it and see how it goes. THe fender pole is a japanese item that is on alot of japanese automatic cars. its a pole that comes out of the front left side of the bumper (vertical), its designed to give you a sense of the front of the car.
  7. I just got a Japanese imported Celsior (LS400), I have a few minor issues with it: 1) when i back off the accelerator i feel a very slight vibration shudder or so (it feels like the exhaust brake feeling on a truck but not to the extent). 2) The fender pole on the front bumper sometimes works and sometime not. apart from these issue everything seems to be fine, I haven't done a service or anything yet, I'm planning to service it next week. Any ideas would be appreciated specially the on the shudder problem, I'm thinking it might need a transmission service.
