  1. I liked them, they weren't too firm, I certainly didn't think they were soft though! Made the car handle much better too, no body roll in the twistys. Mine didn't sag at all I had them on the car for nearly 2 years before I sold it and didn't have any complaints.
  2. tte/aero kit doesn't include any side skirts does it? No the side skirts are from the TRD kit, but both can be stuck together as an option, like I have on mine. I think it was only called the Aero kit in the UK/EU whereas everywhere else you just got the TTE kit or the TRD kit, we got a mixture of both.
  3. You will likely need more than your socket set though :P
  4. The Grom ( http://www.carputer-shop.co.uk/ipod-iphone-kits-c-1/ipod-iphone-adapter-toyota-lexus-p-31 ) is defo the best option if you'd like to keep the standard head unit. But if you want to upgrade then its Alpine everytime for me, can't see past them for sound quality and build quality. And rest assured it will sound far better than your standard headunit.
  5. I would think Lexus will still have some, give them a phone and find out, they can only say no. The Aero kit is a strange beast though, it's actually 2 kits stuck together. Bumpers from TTE, skirts and spoiler from TRD.
  6. Just wanted to say, yes it will fit. You will have extra wires dangling around for E-Shift buttons and cruise control but physically, yes it will fit. And just so you know, so will a Celica steering wheel :P .
  7. I really do reckon if the IS300 had come with a manual it would have been far more popular in this country. British people just seem to have an aversion to Auto's. Personally if I'm totally honest I would prefer it if the 300 was manual but then I can live with an auto quite happily, you only ever miss the manual when beasting it around on back roads, and then you have the E-Shift buttons on the steering wheel (I rewired mine to be more like paddle shift, downshift on the back left hand rather than the front!). And lets be honest, most of our lives is spent creeping around in towns or sat on motorways or traffic jams, and in those times an auto is far better to have than a manual. And after owning an Impreza STI I'd rather put up with an auto than put up with 150bhp! Performance wise it really is night and day between the IS200 and the 300, I know, I've owned both.
  8. Here's a pic of my old IS, this was with Tein s-tech's so about 30-40mm
  9. Depends what age the 200 is, I checked with lexus the other day and after 2004 the IS200 suspension part numbers are the same as the 300's. @Silversalmon, take a look at Stani's pic's, the top pic is completely standard, if yours looks like that it's fine, they do really sit a lot higher at the back these cars.
  10. Just wanted to say, I had the Tein S-tech springs on my old IS200 and they were great, they didn't compromise comfort but made it hold the road much better in corners, very very little body roll. And they did give plenty of a drop. I had them on that for about 2 years before I got rid of the car and never had any complaints whatsoever. I am defenitely getting them for my IS300. Also I'd watch with aftermarket shocks, make sure you get adjustable ones, non adjustables tend to be very harsh (remember the roads in the USA are like snooker tables compared to UK roads). I had a big set of GAB mono shocks, on my Impreza and they were adjustable but even on their softest setting they were rock solid, you actually got winded if you hit a pot hole, no joke, like seriously, no joke! Thats half the reason I got rid of the Scooby and came back to Lexus ownership Here's a pic of how low my old 200 sat on the Tein's
  11. Tints on just the rear half always did look silly and are now really quaint & old-fashioned. To solve your problem just repeat over and over again the mantra "Tinting is for Tw*ts, then do the sensible thing - get shot of them! Have to agree with this, tinting the rear 3 only really looks good on Scoobies and Evo's and that's only because they came from the factory like that. And even then that was only on the old models they stopped doing that years ago.
  12. Hello Has anyone done this? I know I'll be needing an amp with high level inputs but what I really want to know is, is there a remote power lead? I've got an '03 IS300 with the amped standard unit and tbh it sounds pretty awesome so I don't want to change the headunit, just really needs a sub for really deep bass. I'm thinking the standard amp must have a remote lead on it so surely I can splice into that? but what one is it? Cheers for any help. :duh:
  13. congrats :) love Astral black ! remember to get some pics up on here when you've picked her up Yeah I love black too, my old 200 was black and it looked amazing after a heavy dose of wax :D I'll get the pics up as soon as I've got her 8)
  14. Woohoo, just put a deposit on an absolutely mint 03 black IS300 with full sport bodykit and the 18inch wheels. One owner from new Full Lexus history. A bit over my budget but worth every penny, the thing looks like it's never been driven! And the interior looks like a bum has never touched the seat. Don't pick it up till pay day next week though :-( Can't wait :D
  15. That's the easy bit = £245 The oldest IS300 will be 2001 and I think I'm correct in saying that one of the main differences is that they are all auto boxes (at least when I was looking I didn't see a manual box) though you do have the manual "electronic" control buttons on the steering wheel. £4500 should be OK for a high mileage 2001-3. correct, they are all auto's - with the triptronic buttons for up and down gears on the steering wheel. How about looking for an altezza mate? I have thought about an Altezza but I don't really want another Jap import (the scooby is an import) I'd rather a UK car, less hassle. And the 300 will surely be just as quick as an Altezza will it not, I know it'll be a heavier car than an RS200 but it's got tons more torque.
  16. Hello there, I used to be a regular on here a few years ago, doubt if anyone will remember me Thing is see, I had an IS200 back then and I sold it to buy an Impreza STi, but I'm bored of going fast now and I miss my luxury. Thing is having owned a 360bhp Scooby I don't think I could go back to a 153bhp lexus, I know it's not all about speed but when you've been used to that kind of performance you can't go back to a slow car. So I've decided that since I want another IS but I still want at least a wee bit of power, I'll get an IS300. Only I don't really know that much about the 300 so what I want to know is if there's any problems or anything specific to the IS300 that I should look out for? I'm not really able to spend much more than £4500 so I'll be looking for an early 2000's model. Any info would be most appreciated but if it's basically the same issues to look out for on a 200 then I'll be fine Can't wait to get back to some comfort, I think I'll need a spine transplant after 2 years of Scooby ownership (solid suspension, not a dodgy seat :D ) and it would be nice to be able to hear music again and not just exhaust :duh: Someone said back when I got my Scoob that I would be back, they were right, though I can't remember who it was Thanks in advance. Oh and one other thing, how much will it cost to Tax the thing? I heard they are in band M ? I'm looking at an 03 car btw.
  17. It is with deepest regret that I inform you all of my departure from the lexus owners club. I am now off to join the subaru owners club as the proud owner of a JDM fresh off the boat from japan Impreza STi v3 complete with over 280bhp and absolutely no luxury whatsoever Holy crap it's fast it's like being in the starship enterprise at warp 9, and man does it sound sweet. Don't get me wrong I miss sixth gear, and the ability to go over bumps without the wind being knocked out of you ( a combination of rock hard suspension and not much padding in the seats) but with a quick prod of the accelerator all this is forgiven. Goodbye my friends, who knows, maybe when the IS-f becomes affordable to normal people I'll return, but until that day I bid thee farewell.
  18. If you want something with a bit of pace get the IS300, or Altezza. I love my IS200 but it's certainly not got any pace!
  19. mines a 99 with 104'000, still runs like a sweety, clutch needs replacing though
  20. I'll be honest, I prefered the old ones. :shutit:
  21. LOL, thats what the dealer told me was in mine when I bought it, I looked at him and said quite calmly ' do you actually know anything about cars?' really though I just laughed at him and told him what it really was, he stopped all his bull talk after that, and I talked him down a grand! Just shows what some knowledge can get you :winky:
  22. I just got quoted £177.50 to have the timing belt done by toyota dealership, my car gets serviced at my local garage but he recommended I take it to a lexus or toyota dealer for the timing belt. I think he was too scared to ruin my baby :)
  23. I've been wanting that lip for ages where'd you get it from and how much, if you dont mind me askin? :)
  24. Go for it man! I'm gonna try and get my hands on a kit no one else has and prob wont bother with a spoiler though, even though the big massive fast and furious ones look real good with the kit I want. Just have to start pricing up a trip to japan to get it, hmmmm.
